What a busy two weeks it has been! We are just getting home and settled. I have a lot of catching up to do on the blog!! After leaving my parents house Friday morning I dropped Kamdyn off at Mama Lucy's to spend some time with her and Ruthie. Potter, Carrie, Matthew, and Holly came to visit us on Saturday morning to find out what the Speed Boat Races, called Augusta Southern Nationals, were like on the Savannah River in front of our house. It didn't go exactly as we had planned, but we ended up having a good time anyway. We were expecting to be able to sit on our dock and watch the LOUD boats race. The DNR told us very quickly that was not going to happen. Apparently, that was against Coast Guard regulation. If one of them crashed it could end up on our dock! :( Instead, we had to go down to our community boat ramp to get in on the action. There were people everywhere on both sides of the river. Our neighborhood was packed with people having parties to watch the races. One house even had guests arrive in a helicopter!
We woke up to find the DNR boat attached to our dock attempting to find some shade. They stayed there pretty much the entire weekend.

A meeting of the minds!
The brains of the above operation! :)

You can't leave Augusta without getting your picture taken with James Brown who was born and raised in Augusta. :) We got some crazy looks while doing this!

While being silly, we noticed this sign. We followed the directions and Ta-Da we are on their website, minus Richard's head. Check it out here. We had such a great time!
