Still as Girly as Can Be!

One would think that summer time would allow more time for updating the blog......WRONG! It seems like we are busier than ever. I hardly have time to sit down at the computer to upload pics; however, I still manage to have the camera everywhere that we go. I have a lot of catching up to do. Stay tuned this week!!

Our little girl is growing so much, but she still loves her ribbons and bows. I hope that doesn't change any time soon. On this particular day she insisted on pigtails! How cute are these piggies?

Kamdyn Holds Rattle and Finds Her Thumb

This weekend Kamdyn accomplished two things! She held her rattle for longer than a second and she found her thumb. Kamdyn had been holding her rattle for a second or two for about a month. However, she held it on Sunday (6/25) for about five minutes and she actually shook it!! As you can see in these pictures she is also holding her hand to her mouth trying desperately to get her thumb in her mouth. Surprise, surprise, on Monday (6/26) morning she actually got her thumb in her mouth and kept it there. She sucked on it until she went to sleep. YEA!!! Hopefully, her thumb will help pacify her so she will fall asleep easier during the day. She tends to pitch a fit before she goes to sleep because she tries to fight taking naps. I am hoping that sucking her thumb will help her fall asleep without the fussing. We haven't decided if sucking her thumb or taking a pacifier is worse, but whatever works for her will be a blessing to us. We will worry about breaking her of it later. Right now we are worried about today!!! :) .

Kamdyn's Visit with Baby Noah

Kamdyn finally got to meet her first baby friend, Noah! Noah is my friend Amy's little boy. He is 6 months old and Kamdyn is quickly approaching 3 months old. Noah and Kamdyn didn't really know what to think of each other. As you can see, Kamdyn is stuck to the corner of the couch and Noah is moving around all over the place. Kamdyn hasn't got that moving around thing down yet. Noah definitely wasn't too sure of Kamdyn. When his Mommy held Kamdyn, he didn't like it. He fussed a little bit so Amy had to occupy Noah with her feet while holding Kamdyn at the same time. Little Noah is going to have to get used to another little one being around. Amy is expecting her second child. The new baby will be here when Noah turns 1. Yes, Amy is going to have her hands full! We loved our visit with Noah and Amy and we can't wait to see them again. Friends are the best!!!

Our Little Sunflower

So, Kamdyn was given this adorable outfit from my friend Debra, who is also my teaching assistant. Debra's Grandmother had bought the outfit for her little girl and thought that it was a 3 Toddler. However, it was a 3 months. So, the outfit went to little Kamdyn. We thought it was adorable, but didn't realize just how cute it would be on her. Yes, we played dress up again! We got so tickled taking these pictures of her because she couldn't quite figure out what that big thing was on her head. She kept looking up at the top of the hat trying to figure out what it was. Needless to say, she's not too fond of hats. But, she did still manage to pose for the camera. By the way, she just had her two month check-up. She now weighs 12 lbs. 14 oz. and she is 23 1/4 inches long. She is REALLY growing. She has doubled her weight. The doctor said that most babies don't double their weight until they are five months old. YIKES!!! She only 2 1/2 months old. However, the doctor says that since she is breast fed, she is getting healthy fat deposits that will disappear as she grows! In the meantime, we will continue to adore her cheeks and fluffy thighs. :)

Father's Day

Richard experienced his first Father's Day Weekend. Being a Daddy definitely suits him. As everyone knows, he loves to fish. So the weekend wouldn't have been complete unless he was out on the water at least one day. Luckily, he caught this 15 lb. fish. It's his second largest fish ever. He was pretty excited about that! Kamdyn had gotten a tiny rod and reel as a gift so we put her in her bathing suit so she could get a picture with Daddy's big fish. She didn't really like being out in the sun though! My parents also came to visit for Father's Day. Richard, being the chef that he is, cooked us a nice dinner on both Friday and Saturday nights. Saturday night consisted of fish both grilled and fried and it was oh so good!!! Our weekend was so relaxing and was filled with lots of family time. Kamdyn loves her Daddy and Poppy. Next year she may just be able to tell them how much she loves them! :)

All Dressed Up with No Place to Go

One of the perks of having a little girl is being able to dress them up. There are so many cute outfits for little girls and the accessories that match are too adorable. From the lace socks, frilly hats, and bows to the adorable outfits, it is nearly impossible to have enough places to go that require all of this! So, before she outgrows everything we sometimes play dress up just because! As you can see Kamdyn isn't too keen on playing dress up today. However, she is very temperamental like most women and she frequently goes from crying to laughing in a matter of minutes. I keep reminding her that because she is a girl, she is free to change her mind at all times. I'm sure she will be reminding me of that really soon!

Tummy Time

Kamdyn used to love sleeping and laying on her tummy. However, as of June 13th she hates it!! Everytime we lay her on her tummy, she fusses and cries. I keep trying to explain to her that she will never be able to roll over or crawl if we don't have tummy time every now and again to strengthen those arms and neck muscles. She doesn't seem to understand me though! When I am carrying her around all the time at 6 months because she can't crawl I guess it won't really matter. She will still be our CUTIE PIE!!!

Ms. Suzanne came to visit. She had to have her picture taken with Kamdyn while she was wearing the adorable strawberry outfit from Talbot Kids that she gave her.

Naptime with Mommy

Kamdyn and Mommy take a nap while Daddy goes to the store. Daddy sneaks in and takes pictures of us sleeping. These are the moments I wouldn't trade for all the money in the world. I just don't think it gets any better than this! She is truly the new light in my life. I don't know what we did before Kamdyn.

Kamdyn first visit to Grand's house

Kamdyn got to visit Grand for the first time the weekend of June 8-11. Grand arranged a guided fishing trip for Daddy and Uncle Matthew for Daddy's birthday. Daddy decided to take our boat, too. While Daddy and Uncle Matthew went fishing on Friday, Mommy went shopping at the outlets in Bluffton. Grand graciously kept Kamdyn. Shannon and Allison came down on Friday night to celebrate Daddy's birthday, too. On Saturday we took the boat to Beaufort for lunch at Panini's. Grand kept Kamdyn ALL day. Kamdyn had a great time with Grand. She got to play in the sprinkler. She went for a ride with Grand to buy shrimp. She also went on stroller rides with Grand around Palm Key. Kamdyn will be ready for another visit soon. She had lots of new adventures at Grand's and was never bored! Grand may not be quite ready for our return. We took over her house with all of Kamdyn's things. Traveling with a baby requires an entire separate car and room!! Who knew someone so little required so much!

This is Grand, Allison, Mommy, and Kamdyn hanging out in the cottage that we rented. We were only two cottages down from Grand's house.

Allison and Shannon got a picture taken with Kamdyn.
Look, she's even smiling that beautiful smile!!!

Mommy and Daddy had to have our picture taken with Kamdyn,
Shannon, and Allison, too!

Allison, Kamdyn, and Mommy

Uncle Matthew pushes Kamdyn from Grand's house down to our cottage. Kamdyn LOVES riding in her stroller. Doesn't she look like such a big girl! I can't believe how quickly she is growing. It's almost bedtime and Kamdyn is wearing
her "Daddy's Angel" gown.

Mommy and Grand went to pick Daddy and Uncle Matthew up after their fishing trip. Grand and Mommy are waiting in the screened in porch at Oldfield.

Daddy and Uncle Matthew caught lots of fish. We got to grill them for dinner that night. Yummy! Daddy is such a good cook!

One of our favorite things at Grand's house is the view. Her cottage overlooks the Marsh. The sunrise is beautiful. Of course, as soon as Kamdyn sees a trickle of daylight she wakes up. The sunrise is now bitter sweet. We used to wake up to see it and go back to sleep. With Kamdyn around, sun up means everybody UP!
