What?

She thinks she is perfectly normal.  At Wendy's a few weeks ago, Kamdyn and I had already finished eating.  Karcie always eats her chicken nuggets first.  I looked at her fries and discovered that she had made a discard pile......of the pieces that had brown spots.  Wendy's has those delicious hand-cut fries, but apparently this little girl doesn't approve.  She only eats the very middle section of each an every fry.  Needless to say, we sat at Wendy's for quite a while!

Taking one photo of Karcie goes something like this!

Look what she can do!

She's been writing her name for quite some time now and we are still working on letter recognition, but this is what I found the other day.  She dug out all of the letters in her name and put them in a row.  I was so proud and so was she!!

Fishing Day with Daddy

Richard has this river that he likes to fish each year at the beginning of May because the striped bass are apparently everywhere.  I'm sure he could tell the story much better than me, but since he has never posted on here not even ONE time, my story will have to do.

Anyway, he was so happy to take Kamdyn with him.  He took off a day of work.  The two of them spent the night at the lake house.  They headed a little ways north of the lake house and spent the entire fishing.  These are a couple of the photos that he sent me during the day.

This was early on and they had already caught four!

I think Kamdyn had a great time, but she said that they stayed a LONG time.  If you've ever been fishing with Richard you know that you better take breakfast, lunch, AND dinner with you because he does not give up easily when he is fishing!

Eric Church

Richard loves some Eric Church.  He has been wanting to see him for years now.  Usually Richard waits to get tickets to concerts last minute on Craigslist, but this time he was sitting at the computer promptly on a Friday morning at 10:00 AM ready to pull the trigger.  He got great seats for us.  We had a super good time.  We met up with some neighbors just before the concert after we enjoyed a nice dinner out.  My phone took horrible photos.  He has better ones, but he is not so good about sending his photos to me.  So, this will have to do for now.

The concert was awesome.  Eric Church did not disappoint.  He is a hometown NC boy so he was super excited to be playing in NC and the fans were excited to see him.  The highlight was this HUGE blowup devil that appeared.  Richard has a great photo of it.

A BIG thanks to Nanny and Georgia for bringing Karcie's bed and for keeping the girls so we could enjoy a night out!  We sure do love a good concert!  It's always been one thing that the two of us have always had in common.

She REALLY is growing Up.....

whether I like it or not!!  We finally took Karcie's crib down.  It was a toddler bed for a while now, but I just couldn't let go of it completely.  I knew it was time.  She was ready, but I wasn't.  She was getting my Grandmother's bed that my Mom had at her house.  My Mom and Georgia were so kind to bring it to us one week while they were babysitting for us.  Karcie absolutely adores her new big girl bed.  I wonder if she knows how sad it makes me.  I just can't believe that she's about to be four!!  She is ready, but I am not!

A New Driver!

This girl has a birthday coming up REALLY soon!!  A 4th birthday!  I can't even being to talk about that right now.  There's just no possible way that this last baby of mine is about to be four.  More on that later.

Our entire family was trying to come up with ideas for her birthday.  I suggested one of these motorized cars/jeeps because this little sweetie, while she is hurting for absolutely nothing, has never gotten a "big" gift of her own.  She gets Kamdyn's hand-me-down bikes, scooters,  kitchen set, doll house, etc.  Kamdyn never had one of these and I thought it would be a special gift JUST for Karcie.  So, Aunt Kathy and Uncle Jim purchased this one for sweet little Karcie.  We got it a month before her birthday and decided that we couldn't wait to give it to her.  Besides, there was only so long that the BIG object in the garage covered with the black blanket would go unnoticed.  So, we gave it to her really early!  She didn't know what to do when she took the huge blanket off the top of it.  It certainly didn't take her long to figure it out though.  Many of the kids in our neighborhood have these.  She has always begged to ride with her friends, but I've never been brave enough to let her drive.  She hopped right on and did great!  This little jeep was moving at a snails pace though so Daddy had to figure out a way to add some more horsepower to it!!  Now it will REALLY move.  She's not so great at stopping.  She did have one minor accident already...she ran straight into our basketball goal post.  My neighbor and I could not stop laughing!!

Her favorite place to ride is in our pool parking lot.  It's wide open and not many obstacles that she can run in to!!  Go, Karcie, go!!  This is certainly your speed.  We love you so much!!

Thank you, Aunt Kathy and Uncle Jim for such a special gift for our extra special girl!!

Check out the leg propped up on the side.  What???

Kamdyn folds her legs inside to ride....she likes it just as much as Karcie.

Riding with Landon.  I'm sure Karcie was spouting off some rules about her car to him before she allowed him to drive.  ;)

First Day of Track Out

I am terribly sad that this was our very last track out.  Kamdyn has been reassigned to a brand new school next year that will be on a traditional calendar.  We will get used to the traditional calendar again....it was all we ever knew before NC.  However, it has been so nice having breaks throughout the school year.  The best part has been taking vacations during the off season when prices were significantly lower and places were not crowded at all.  Oh well!!

The first day of track out we headed to Chick-fil-A to pick up lunch.  We had a picnic, then the girls played.  It was a beautiful afternoon!

Miss Priss requested that her picture be taken right here.  Crazy girl!!

Tire swing time!

I think you sily girls are supposed to sit while it's swinging!

My Dearest Kamdyn

She has no idea how special she is to our family.  She writes notes out of the blue to give to us just because.  I love this girl like no other!!  I'm so glad that she's mind!  For the record, I was still a functioning Mommy.  I had severe allergy issues for about two weeks.  Blah!

The Terry Fisherman and His Good Luck Girls!

We were so happy to get to the lake for some NICE weather for a change.  We got Kamdyn out of school early the day she tracked out so that we could spend as much time outside as possible.  It was the craziest thing.  Richard had hardly caught any fish in Kerr Lake until this particular weekend.  We caught so many in just two days.  I think the number was like 20, but I'm sure he would tell you WAY more than that....he's a good fisherman story teller.  ;)

Richard was proud as punch to have his girls fishing and actually enjoying it.  When Karcie caught her first fish, she was hilarious. She said, "I tink there's someting on here!"  We thought she was just being Karcie and teasing us.  Sure enough, she had a fish.  She reeled that fish in and was smiling from ear to ear when she pulled it into the boat.  She WOULD NOT touch it though!!

We caught mostly crappie on the first day.  On the second day he fished early one morning and came back to get the girls at a reasonable time.  He finally caught one of his beloved striped bass on this lake.  You would have thought it was Christmas!

Check out those socks.  Change into shorts after work, but didn't change his socks.  That's MY husband!

Nice striped bass!!
These crazy girls thought that because the sun was out and it was almost 80 degrees that they should get in the lake.  YIKES!!  That water was fa-reezing!! They didn't stay in long though!  Just long enough for their teeth to chatter.

I love how much she concentrated on casting her rod!  Believe it or not, Jon Potter gave this rod to Kamdyn like 7 years ago.  It still works!!  We did realize that we were in desperate need of another girly rod so Richard made that happen immediately that following week.

Was she proud???

Checking out her catch of the day!!

I'm not touching a fish though!!

This big girl finally gave in to her fear of touching fish.  She finally held them by the mouth!

Another Anderson Weekend

We were in Anderson for Mr. Potter's funeral.  It was such a sad time for us and the Potter family.  We enjoyed spending time with them and catching up with friends that we don't get to see that often.

Kamdyn and Karcie enjoyed spending time with Aunt Kathy and Uncle Jim while we were at the funeral.  We appreciated them keeping the girls so much!  Kamdyn and Karcie got to have lunch at Chick-fil-A and they got to go to the movies with Aunt Kathy and Uncle Jim.  They didn't really want to leave when we came to pick them up.

The girls were super happy to see Uncle Matthew.  We all went to visit Mama Lucy, too.  She looks so happy to have both of her boys with her at the same time.

The girls got to spend lots of time with Nanny.  Nanny let them help plant some flowers in her garden to keep the critters away from her veggies.

Richard and I went to the Clemson Spring Game and later that night we went to see Lee Brice in concert in Clemson.  We relived a few of our glory days by making at stop at The Esso.  As we were walking inside so I could use the restrooms, Richard said, "Did you see who was sitting out there that we just passed?"  Nope, of course, I didn't.  He said, "That was Charlie Whitehurst."  Naturally, I had to get my picture taken with him.  No one else there seem to know or care that he was there.  Perhaps they were too young to even know who Charlie Whitehurst is.  How could anyone forget his streak of beating the Gamecocks so many times in a row?  Too bad he had to leave. It seems it went downhill after that.  :(
