Tiny Tiger Tailgater

We decided that it was time to take Kamdyn to the tailgate with us this past weekend. We had to get her all dressed up in her Clemson attire. She looked adorable in her Clemson cheerleading outfit. She had on her little KEDS shoes, but we had to take them off because Daddy and Nanny thought they were bothering her little feet. Boy was it a task trying to get her feet in those shoes. With the way that she curls up her toes it's nearly impossible to get her to flatten them out to get them inside a pair of shoes.
Kamdyn was a complete angel at the tailgate. She loved all of the attention that she got and she loved looking at the tiger paws and all of the orange. She was thoroughly entertained. She is so alert these days that she has to see everything that is going on. However, towards the end of her stay at the tailgate, she did lose the battle. She had to take a nap. She kicked that foot up and she was gone. She slept through all of Shannon's IPOD music and even slept through a close encounter with a football. She was pooped! When Mommy and Daddy went in to the game, Nanny and Poppy took Kamdyn back to their house. Boy were we glad......it was so HOT in the stadium. Kamdyn, Mommy, and Daddy would have been miserable if we had tried to take Kamdyn to the game. Thanks, Nanny and Poppy!

Sitting Up

Kamdyn wants to sit up so badly on her own that she can hardly stand it. Actually, she would rather just stand up, but standing is still a little ways off. However, she is getting really good at balancing herself. In fact, she pretty much sits up on her own as long as she doesn't realize that no one is holding her up. She can hold herself up with her arms and can even push herself back up to a sitting position when she falls too far forward. She is so funny though when she wants to stand. No matter how hard you try to get her to sit down, she straightens those legs and refuses to bend them. Maybe she's going to be walking at 9 months like her Mommy. She may just bypass all of the rolling and crawling. She doesn't seem to care anything about it. We'll have to wait and see. She's not even 6 months old yet and she has a strong willed mind of her own!

Johnny Jump Up

Grand (still not sure of what Kamdyn will call her) sent Kamdyn a Johnny Jump Up. Kamdyn isn't so sure about what to do with the Johnny Jump Up though. She can't quite figure out that she can pull her legs up to rest. She tries to stand up the entire time and gets really tired. Of course, this leads to a squeal and lots of fussing. Hopefully she will learn to like it. She's just not that fond of the big toys yet. She would rather sit in the corner of the couch with her toys and talk and slobber away. She also likes to sit up with the Boppy around her. All of the fancy toys aren't appealing to her yet. Oh well, we'll keep trying!

Sippy Cup

I decided that we should try Kamdyn with a sippy cup. She did okay, but she would rather use it as a teether instead of a cup. She chewed on the end, but she did great holding the cup. I'm thinking we need more practice!

Kamdyn at 4 months

Here is Kamdyn the day that she turned 4 months old, 8/1/06. These were not taken by the "professional" photographer. However, I wanted a portrait of her in between our Fitz Symms sessions. This is a much cheaper alternative which allows us to purchase more pictures to share with family and friends. Kamdyn did great for two poses. Then, the lady decided to try and take some pics of her on her stomach. That didn't go so well! Kamdyn started pitching a fit and just couldn't get herself back together. I tried to console her, but she wasn't having anything more to do with posing for pictures. Unfortunately, we had to cut our session short. She screamed all the way to the car. Luckily, we did manage to get three poses that turned out pretty cute. Enjoy!

Kamdyn's 8 week portraits

These are some of the professional photographs that we had taken of Kamdyn when she was 8 weeks old. We chose a studio in Augusta that I absolutely love. The lady who photographs the babies and children is wonderful! Believe it or not Kamdyn was wide awake when we arrived for her photo session. The photographer took the "awake" pictures first. Then, she managed to get Kamdyn asleep herself by holding her, rocking her, and playing the sweetest music. I was an emotional wreck as I watched this lady capture this moment in Kamdyn's life. As Celine Dion's song, "Miracle," played in the background, tears rolled down my cheeks. I realized at that moment that Kamdyn would forever have my heart in the palm of her hand. All Mom's and Mom's-to-be should purchase Celine Dion's CD, Miracle. It will pull at your heart strings!

Not much happening

My Mom keeps asking for a new post, but I haven't really had anything new and exciting to post. We've been so busy that we haven't been taking nearly as many pictures of the little Princess. Her babysitter did tell me on Friday 9/8 that Kamdyn is pushing herself around backwards in the walker that she has at her house. That's a pretty new accomplishment! Kamdyn is also pushing herself up on her arms when she is lying on her tummy. She is finally enjoying her stomach for more than five seconds. She rolled over from her tummy to her back yesterday on her own, too. She continues to grow and amaze us. The hardest thing to report is the fact that I miss her so much when I am working. I live for the weekends and the uninterrupted time that I get to spend with her. I love watching her and her personality!

Her next Doctor's Appointment is on October 10. This will be her 6 month check-up. We also have an appointment to have her "Mommy and Me" picture portrait session done on September 26th. I can't wait to have these pictures taken! She is at such a fun age.
