Laughing Pizza

Laughing Pizza from PBS Kids came to our school last Friday to promote their upcoming concert in Augusta at the Kroc Center.  Kamdyn has liked them on PBS since she was little so she was thrilled to see these "stars."  After seeing them at school she asked to go to the concert.  I love these outings with her so I agreed.  We left baby sister at home with Daddy.  We got to sit on the front row and we had a blast!  When the music first came on Kamdyn covered her ears and almost started to cry saying, "It's too loud.  It's making my insides vibrate."  She got used to it pretty quickly and was dancing in front of the stage before I knew it.  We bought one of their CD's.  She has inherited the knack for remembering song lyrics.  From who, I don't know!  *wink*  In fact, it has become a challenge for her.  She reads the words to the songs as she sings, desperately trying to memorize them as quickly as possible.  Laughing Pizza has been on loop in my car.  Good thing I can get into their music.  It's really not that bad!

Into Everything!

I estimate that we have about another month or two before "into everything" takes on a WHOLE new meaning!  Karcie has figured out how to go all over our house in her walker.  If the space is wide enough for the walker, she has figured out how to get there.  Her recent find was maneuvering into Kamdyn's bathroom where she proceeded to open the drawers and cabinets.  This is how I found her as I sneaked around the corner with the camera.  Yep, she's gonna be the mischievous one.  I am getting the outlet covers, cabinet locks, baby gate for the stairs, and anything else baby proof ready for this one because it looks like we are going to be needing them soon!  Watch out world 'cause here I come!!  :)

It was time!

THIS......

.......led to THIS!!

We have been talking about lowering Karcie's crib for a while now, but she just hasn't shown any interest in trying to get to a sitting position when lying down.  Recently she has started pushing her body up with her arms and peeking over the side.  Plus, she turned 9 months old on Monday.  We weren't taking any chance so we lowered her crib last week.  I kept the bumper on because the bed just looks so bare without it.  I am sure we will catch her sitting or standing in her crib soon!

Brrr....The Zoo!

Kamdyn and I were out of school for two days for President's Day and a furlough day.  I decided that I wanted to take the girls to the zoo.  Richard thought I was losing my mind for even thinking about taking both of them alone to Columbia to the zoo.  I had it in my head so there was not stopping me!  We loaded up on Tuesday morning bright and early and got to the zoo at 9:00 as it was opening.  That is our favorite time to go!  From our experience people typically do not start arriving until around 10:00 or 10:30.  We had the park to ourselves.  It was a bit cold while we were there.  Thankfully, there are lots of  indoor exhibits that gave us a break from the cold.  Kamdyn and Karcie did great!  I took everything that I needed for Karcie.  I had HIGH hopes that she would nap in her stroller at her normal nap time.  No such luck!  There was too much for her to see and there were WAY too many distractions.  We had a great time!  I can't wait to take my cuties again soon.  Next time I fear that I will be chasing Karcie which is why I figured that taking her by myself while she is still immobile would be much easier!

Her first view of the zoo.....stinky flamingos!

Kamdyn insisted that we stop here first!  Why do they smell so bad?

My favorite exhibit is the penguins.  Last time when we visited, the penguin exhibit was closed for repairs.  We were happy to see our no flying feathered friends this time!

King Penguins on the right!

Next, we checked out some birds!

Kamdyn was a little freaked out by this bird.

Kamdyn wanted her picture taken with EVERY animal statue there.

My sweet, beautiful girl!

We love the aquarium, too!

She is still not so sure of the giraffes!  No chance of her feeding them or petting them!

The gorillas amaze me.

Karcie was all smiles for most of our trip!

Thank goodness for Pappy though!  She did have a few moments...

The bears were having a good time.

My monkey with a monkey!

Cute!

Kamdyn + hairbow are as tall as an emperor penguin!

Sweet girl was staring to get tired!

I guess this is her tough face!  :)

And her dino face?

We ended our trip with the tigers.

My favorite time of day!

I love sneaking into Karcie's room in the morning to watch her sleep.  She has turned into quite an acrobat here lately.  Her sleep positions vary from hour to hour.  Sometimes we even catch her on the monitor sleeping face down.  We still stock her crib nightly with  "Pappies" just in case she wakes and needs to be soothed back to sleep.  She has slept 12 hours a night since she was sick during that week of sickness the end of January.  Praise God!  As you can see, we still hadn't lowered her crib as of two weeks ago.  This little girl isn't in any hurry to get up!

The sound of the camera and flash woke sleeping beauty!

She is always so happy in the morning!  That sweet smile gets me through the day!

Got It!

This girl has figured out how to pick up her own food now!  She couldn't be happier!  I love watching those sweet fingers grab for each puff.  We're not still celebrating Christmas around here.  When you need a bib, the first one out of the drawer will do!  :)

Puff on tongue!

Multitasking...watching TV AND putting puff in mouth!

De-lish!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Richard really did have to plan ahead before his trip.  He left over a week before Valentine's Day.  We hid a card and some sweet messages in his suitcase without realizing that he had some tricks up his sleeve, too.  Kamdyn had not played with her Barbie camper in weeks.  The Sunday prior to Valentine's Day, she decided that it was Barbie camper day.  To both of our surprise, Richard had hidden a Valentine's Day card for both Kamdyn and me.  Both said that we had to wait until Valentine's Day.  My heart was full knowing that he remembered us despite his long trip to Australia!  So thoughtful and sweet!!  Richard also got a new cover for my IPhone, but my biggest surprise was that he came home a day early.  He made it back by 10:30 on Valentine's night.  He said this was the longest Valentine's Day of his life!  It was Valentine's Day when he left Australia the day before and it was still Valentine's Day when he got home.  :)  I am so very blessed and I love my three Valentine's to pieces!

Take 1 with my girls after a long Valentine's Day in Kindergarten!

Take 2!  :)  We were thankful that both girls were looking at the camera.  Thanks, Georgia, for taking our picture!

Kamdyn was excited to open her gift from me!  It arrived Valentine's Day afternoon.  Whew, that was a close one!

She had been eating blue candy.....notice the blue lips!  She has been begging for this game for months! It is way below her level.  The things we do for our kids!!  :)

Kamdyn's school Valentine box.  The chocolate candy arrangement from Georgia.  Kamdyn is a chocolate snob!  She only likes the best chocolates!

The card and necklaces that Richard left for Kamdyn!

Sweet Karcie got a hairbow holder!

She was thrilled!

A girl can never have too many bows!

This was our nutritious Valentine's Dinner!
