Karcie and her "FITS!"

Karcie is strong willed, to say the least! She wants to do everything on her own and she wants everything NOW!!

The first video was taken one day after nap time.  For whatever reason, she was intent on throwing this fit.  I tried several times to get her out to which she promptly said, "GO AWAY!!"  After watching her for several minutes and realizing that she just needed to get this out of her system, I got my camera to record.

The second audio/video was taken one day when we were leaving Jazzercise.  She wanted her juice, but she had already drank all of it on the way to Jazzercise.  Nothing would do!  Once again, when I realized that she wasn't going to give up her fight, I turned on the camera.  No reason for me to get upset when she makes these choices......

As I type, she is downstairs saying, " I need juicy, Mommy!  I NEED JUICY!"  I better go before this turns into another recorded event/fit!!  :)

Dance Class #3

I promise not to post EVERY class.  It's really more about the different outfits anyway.  :)  She just looks so stinkin' cute.  However, looks can be very deceiving.  She did okay during her 3rd dance class.  We were meeting some friends for lunch afterwards at "Chick-a-lay" so she was a bit distracted.  She kept coming over to me saying that she was ready to go to "chick-a-lay."  I had to coerce her back to dancing by telling her if she didn't listen to Mrs. Mary that we wouldn't get to go to "chick-a-lay!"  Eventually that worked!  And in case you wonder why all of our photos are on the front porch......it's because she is contained in a very small space.  She can't come down the stairs because I am there.

She decided that walking backwards AWAY from me would be FUN!

Uh OH!  She forgot that the door was behind her.

It didn't phase her thought because she jumped right back up and starting smiling!

LOVE this wrinkled up nose and precious smile!!

Dance Class #2

I just can't get enough of this little stinker.  I have NO WORDS for her personality except to say that it's BIG!  She has a mind of her own.  She surprises me when I least expect it, like when she is following the directions of the dance teacher when no one else is.  She rarely listens to me.  It's hard to believe that Mrs. Mary can convince her to do as she does.  For the most part, she does follow what she is told to do at dance.  That makes me happy!  If only I could get her to do as she is told at home.  GRRR!!

Check out the pose.  I didn't tell her to do this.  If I had, she wouldn't have done it.  :)

Still as an arrow!

Working on her "out, in" move with her feet.

Potty Training Update

Just in case I forget all of the wonderful details of potty training......

We really started focusing on this potty thing on Monday night.  Karcie wore her big girl panties after bath until bedtime.  She went potty three times all on her own remember all of the basic steps.  SO PROUD!!

On Tuesday, she had a slightly wet diaper when she woke up even though we made her potty right before bed.  Kamdyn was ALWAYS dry in the mornings even a month or so before we started potty training her.  This is new for us and I'm not sure how the night time wetting will turn out; however, Karcie wore a pull up all day.  She went to the potty on her own throughout the day.  She wet the pull-up once while I was Jazzercising and once later in the date.  I was still pretty proud of this!  Pull up was wet the next morning.

On Wednesday through Friday, she wore a pull up again for the day.  She had ZERO wet pull ups!  She wore the same pull up all day.  YAY!  Pull up was wet the next morning, but I will still take it!  Still no major protests from her about using the potty.  She likes the process and mostly likes being able to wash her hands by herself.  On a couple of these days I put a diaper on her so that she would go #2.  TMI, I know.  But she's just not ready to do that on the potty yet.

Today, Richard put panties on her first thing in the morning.  She did fine.  She went potty several times. However, she sneaked away upstairs only to come back downstairs with a very full and stinky pair of panties.  YUCK!!  We should have been paying better attention.  The good news is that the pull up has been dry the rest of the day.

She's doing GREAT!!  MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better than I anticipated.  I have been very nervous to begin this process with her.  I am so thankful that she is turning out to be pretty easy on this most difficult milestone.

My goal is for her to be fully potty  trained during this three weeks that Kamdyn is out of school.  I will not buy another diaper!  We only have a few left and that's it.  Kind of happy and kind of sad!  So bittersweet!

Georgia and Jacob Visit Apex

I bet you can't guess who was MOST excited about Georgia and Jacob coming to Apex?  If you guessed Kamdyn, then you are correct.  This girl was ecstatic for over a week anticipating their arrival.  She couldn't wait to share with Jacob her new life in Apex.  It was a busy, busy weekend filled with pool time, eating, playing, riding bikes, hanging out with Sydney, getting aggravated by a little sister, baking, going to the movies, trips to Target, lunch with Kamdyn at school, etc.   Mommy and Daddy even got to enjoy a Friday night dinner out at PF Changs and a nice lake day on Saturday. Jacob said he wanted to stay for a month.  :)  We are glad that he had such a great time.  We are so blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives.  We can't wait for them to visit again!

Playing on the I-Pad with her two best friends!

Enjoying cupcakes from Delightful Bites in Augusta.

We decided to take the kids to see Monsters University.  We were unsure about taking Karcie, but decided to brave it.  She has been obsessed with Monsters Inc. here lately.
She goes around saying, "I watch Monsties Inc."  The cool thing is that she will actually sit and watch the entire movie.  I thought that keeping her still and quiet in the theater would be a long shot, but she proved me wrong!  She did so great throughout the entire movie.  When each preview would go off she would say, "More! More!"  One time she did yell out, "Dat too loud!  It scared me!"  When we first got there, I think she thought that going to the movies meant the arcade.  She didn't want to get away from this car.  :)

Kamdyn and Jacbo took their photos in the photo booth.

Karcie and Mommy just before the movie started!

We took this as we were leaving!

This was our yummy hot dog dinner with jalapeno poppers as a side made by Georgia.  This was our last night before they left.  :(

Before heading back to Augusta, Georgia and Jacob made one last stop by Kamdyn's school to have lunch with her.  I know that having them at her school made her day, week, and probably life!  :)

Goodbye High Chair

Karcie is ready to get rid of this thing.  Truth be told, I am, too.  I'm not in any hurry for her to grow up, but I am kind of tired of the eye sore at our kitchen table.  As of last week she refused to sit in her high chair.  Only a "big girl" chair would do.  Here she is enjoying her lunch in her "big girl" chair while watching Sesame Street.  I had to strip her down so she wouldn't ruin her clothes.

The next Anna Kournikova??

This little girl started taking tennis lessons last week.  She's never held a tennis racket in her life and did great!!  I was pleasantly surprised. You see, we have been trying to find Kamdyn's niche.  She liked soccer until the kids were older and bigger and started making contact with her.  She wasn't really into being knocked down.  She likes dance.  We just haven't gotten her signed up since moving to Apex.  We can't do Fall sports that require games on Saturday because we go to Clemson football games.  So, we decided that tennis would meet our criteria AND it's a "forever sport" not a "for now" sport.  She can continue to play tennis long over she grows up.  I hope she continues to do well and ends up loving tennis.  I wish that I had learned to play tennis as a child.  Maybe she can teach her Mom and thing or two.

Uncle Richard (a.k.a. The Godfather)

While we were in the Upstate with all of the Grandmas, Richard was in Orlando with the rest of the Terry family.  Baby Lucy got baptized and Richard was asked to be the Godfather/family representative.  Holly sent this photo to me of Richard and Baby Lucy.  Now I just have to find a way to get my hands on this little bundle.  To see more about Baby Lucy's Baptism click here

Look what Karcie found!!!

Look what she found under her bed?  Thankfully it has a hole in it and she found out that she doesn't like this thing nearly as much as she used to!!  In fact, she's already forgotten that she found it.  :)  WHEW!!

Mama Lucy and Ruthie Time

During our impromptu adventure to the Upstate, we visited with Mama Lucy and Ruthie for most of Saturday.  We hung out at Mama Lucy's house for a while.  We had a yummy lunch at The Clock.  Then, we went downtown with Ruthie for a while.  We took an excursion to the top of a parking garage to look out over Anderson.  We indulged in ice cream.  We walked around downtown Anderson looking for the fish and profound little quotes on the sidewalk.  The girls also did a little wall walking.  We enjoyed our time with these two special ladies and can't wait to do it again!

Silly Karcie wouldn't sit up and look!  So typical!

I couldn't get all three to look in this photo either.

Check out those ominous clouds as we walked atop the parking garage to look out over Anderson.

Karcie had strawberry ice cream and Kamdyn had birthday cake ice cream.

Ruthie with her two sweeties!

Karcie, the camera is over HERE!!

AMEN to that!!

Walking on top of the wall over and over again!

Visiting Nanny and Pop Pop

Richard was in Orlando last weekend for Baby Lucy's Baptism. The girls and I decided at the last minute to pack up and go to Upstate SC. First stop was Nanny's house!

The girls got their dose of being spoiled! Ice Cream before bed. Makeup for everyone. Tea party fun. Food is so much better on a TV tray in front of cartoons. And, throwing a fit to stay up as late as you want! That's what Nanny's are for......right?

We were so glad to visit and can't wait for next time!

The Old Neighborhood

We got a text early this morning of the photos below.  We were sad to see that our old neighborhood has flooded.  They have cancelled the boat races this year.  The concert that used to be on the River that we attended each year was rained out this year.  Since we've moved, the weather has been terrible there.  We hated to see these photos this morning.  Our house still hasn't sold.  Thankfully his company bought it from us so it isn't our worry.   But it's still sad to think that we have so many great memories at that house and in that neighborhood.  Our house is sitting empty and has been since we left on Valentine's Day.  They opened the dam at the lake this morning so I am sure the water has risen even more.  So sad!  :(

Does this look familiar?

It used to look like this!

Bart's Pool Today!!

It used to look like this.  :(  Notice how far the water is on the fence.
