Jesus Loves Me

I tried desperately to get Kamdyn to sing the ENTIRE song of Jesus Loves Me. She sounds so cute when she sings this. Can you say that you don't like Jesus Loves Me? Contrary to what she says in the video, she sings it quite often, which means she must like it! Her personality really shows in these videos (which is why I posted both of them).....independent, strong willed, imaginative, talkative, silly, etc., etc., etc. Enjoy!

Take One!

Take Two!

Big Girl Spoon

Kamdyn has been attempting to eat with "her" spoon for quite a while. Today she wanted to eat with a "real" spoon. Here she is eating her yogurt. She is doing very well considering how long the spoon is. You also get to see her gag reflex in full effect here. This is what brought on the throwing up of her medicine a few weeks ago. I also wanted to try my new camera on video mode. We had to reduce the resolution significantly to make the file small enough to upload. The regular videos are extremely clear. I hope this one isn't too grainy!

Just some cute pics!

I forgot to mention in my previous park post that a man was there with his little boy. The man asked Kamdyn how old she was. She confidently looked up at him and said, "I five!" We cracked up laughing and said, "You are not." (obviously) Then she said, "I almost two!"

You can see in these pictures that her hair is finally growing...... slowly, but surely!

I CAN DO IT!

Kamdyn has been so timid with climbing; however, our frequent trips to the park here lately are starting to pay off. She will now climb to the top all by herself and will slide down by herself. We are so proud of her and she is equally proud of herself! Ignore her bright white shoes with her brown pants. She insisted on wearing these shoes instead of her cute brown shoes that match! Yes, I have a strong willed, independent child. I choose my battles! :)

Chick-A-Lay

We had so much fun with Mama Lucy at Chick-A-Lay the other night that we had to take Daddy back today. Kamdyn had so much fun; however, there were a lot more kids there at lunch time on Saturday than there were on a Tuesday evening. Kamdyn had a good time, regardless, and did not want to leave. I'm such a germaphobe that it really gets under my skin to see her playing on all of that equipment. How often do they REALLY clean it? I know she is only a kid once, so I let her play anyway! :)

By the way, I realize that these are events that all children partcipate in and are really no big deal. However, Nanny and Pop Pop enjoy seeing EVERYTHING that we do since they are far away.

Making Bear Biscuits

My class makes these every year when we learn about Bears. We made them a few weeks ago, but Kamdyn was sick. I've been saving the leftovers for a day when things weren't so hectic. Kamdyn was all excited about making the bear biscuits until she tried to eat the raw biscuit dough and I told her "NO, we have to cook them first" You see from the picture below what her reaction was to not being able to eat the biscuit. Instead, I gave her some cherries and she was as good as new. These biscuits were some that my Mom brought one weekend when she was visiting. They have bits of butter in them so it looks like we have polka dot bears. The plain biscuits work better. After they cook, you dip them in honey. YUM! What a tasty treat! Even Daddy joined us for this event!

Mama Lucy Saves the Week!

Georgia called Sunday night to say that she had the flu!!! Aside from the fact that Georgia is such a blessing to us, she's NEVER been sick or had to cancel. Richard was, yet again, out of town. Without anyone else to keep her, I had to take Monday off. I also had to come up with a plan for the rest of the week because I know that this flu is hanging around for a while. I called everyone I knew to help and Mama Lucy came to the RESCUE. I met her in Greenwood on Monday afternoon and she has been here the entire week with us! Kamdyn has been having a great time. They have read every book in this house at least 100 times. We went to "Chick-a-lay,", as Kamdyn calls it, last night. Mama Lucy also took her to our neighborhood park today. While Kamdyn does miss Georgia and keeps saying, "I can see Georgia when she feel better," she has had a marvelous time with Mama Lucy. Thank you, Mama Lucy, and we hope you feel better soon, Georgia! We love you both!!

Mixed Emotions

On Friday, my Mom was told by the nurse that my Dad's bronchoscopy (biopsy) showed NO MALIGNACY and NO CANCER! I was so elated and knew that our prayers had been answered. Kamdyn prays every night, "Please, God, let Pop Pop's lung get better!" However, in the back of my mind I couldn't help but think, "Why did the 'hot spots' show up on the PET Scan and why did the doctor say, 'It is definitely cancer, we just don't know what stage.'?" Today, my Daddy had a follow-up appointment with the cancer doctor. They, again, said, "Cancer DID NOT show up on the biopsy." Their next step is to do another PET Scan to see if there have been any changes in the lymph nodes. If so, they will make a small incision in his throat and will take a biopsy from each lymph node that shows up. If nothing has changed in the lymph nodes, they will not give him treatments, but will monitor him closely for any changes to the lymph nodes. Praise God and thank you to all of you who have had my Dad (me and my Mom) in your thoughts and prayers and who continuously ask about him. While I do feel a great sense of relief, I am still filled with mixed emotions. I will keep you all posted! GOD IS SO GOOD!!

Bubble Bath

Kamdyn used to LOVE taking baths. The past couple of weeks, it has been a struggle to get her near the bathroom for her bath. In fact, she would start screaming at the mere mention of bath time. Needless to say, she has been throwing some tantrums. I decided that we needed to do something so she would love bath time again. I started putting bubbles in her bath and she has fallen in love with taking a bath all over again. She's not even interested in her bath toys anymore. You see in the photos that they remain in their baskets on the side of the tub. Everyday is a new day and you never know what to expect with a toddler. Kamdyn is no stranger to this rule!

Shower and Stairs

Something completely jumps in Kamdyn when we go to the new house. She runs around like no other. She gets so excited! Today, all she wanted to do was get inside of the shower in the Master Bathroom. She kept insisting on holding Richard's hand and taking him in to the "shower." She said, "Take our picture, Mommy!" Again, we get the "Big CHEESE!" She is also obsessed with climbing up and down the stairs. We haven't had to have baby gates as of yet, but I foresee them in our near future!! All of those stairs, both inside and out, are going to give me heart failure!!!

A Funny Story!

I needed to stop today and buy bread and sandwich meat so I could make lunches for the rest of the week. I asked Kamdyn if she wanted to go to Wal-Mart or Food Lion and she said Food Lion because she "wants to ride in the blue shopping tart." You know, the one with car that I can't drive worth anything! So, I decided that's where we would go. I also decided that I would pick up Richard's Valentine's Card (I already have his gift) as well as something to cook for dinner tonight since there is no Jazzercise tonight. As we are strolling with the HUGE cart towards the sandwich meat, I look up and see this good looking guy! NO, I wasn't checking out some random guy, it was RICHARD!!! I cracked up laughing and said, "Richard!" He, of course, cracked up, too, because he had my Valentine's card and a basket full of food to make shrimp creole for me. So, we ditched his basket and piled his "stuff" into our cart, hid our cards, and paid for everything all together. What can I say? Great minds think alike......what are the chances?????

Ladybug Surprise!

Kamdyn had a package sitting at the door when we came home yesterday. She opened it to find a HUGE ladybug from Uncle Matthew. She LOVES it!! She uses it as a pillow as you can see from the pics. She also got a new baby and "Clemson Girl" blanket from MacKenna. We now call the baby, "Baby Uh-Oh" because when the pacifier is not in her mouth she looks like she is saying "uh-oh." Kamdyn loves all of her new gifts! Thank you, Uncle Matthew and MacKenna

This is how we sweep the sidewalk!

Yes, Kamdyn is sweeping again with our cheap broom that we only use outdoors. I had to sweep the leaves out from our front door. Kamdyn, of course, had to help. I had to use the broom with the rusted handle while Kamdyn used this "better" outdoor broom. I can't wait until she can do these chores on her own. By then, I'm sure she will not want to help me like she wants to now!

Happy Valentine's Day to Me

I unexpectedly got my Valentine's gift early. I checked the mail, as I always do, and found a box from Amazon stuffed in our mailbox with Richard's name on it. I took it in to him and told him he had a package. No, I wasn't nosy enough to open the package before giving it to him! :) He says, "Well, you may as well open it now. You know who it's for and what it is!"

I GOT A NEW DIGITAL CAMERA!!!! YIPPEE! Thank you so much, sweetie! I LOVE it!!!

We've needed one for so long. Recently, I've been borrowing my Mom's which is just as basic as a digital camera can get, but perfect for her occasional use.

Here are a few pics that I took while practicing using my new camera. I have a wonderful subject!

Is This a Good Idea, Mommy?

I know that Kamdyn is officially on the road to recovery (aside from the rash?!?) from two statements that she made very matter of factly today. Around 1:30 she looked at me and said, "I'm ready to go to Georgia's, Mommy. I feel all better." Later on, she dumped all of her toys out of one of her toy baskets. She turned the basket upside down and put one foot up on top as if she were going to climb up on top of it. She looked at me and said, "Is this a good idea, Mommy?" I really thought I would fall in the floor laughing. I politely told her, "No, that's not a good idea because you will probably fall off and get hurt." I could see her wheels turning as she weighed her options; however, she did take my advice! Instead, she turned the basket the right way and climbed in! What a mess she is........
