Happy Valentine's Day

I almost forgot to post these pictures so here goes almost 2 weeks later. Kamdyn had an enjoyable Valentine's Day. She got tickets to see The Wizard of Oz on the "big stage." What fun would The Wizard of Oz be without ruby red slippers and a Dorothy costume? We don'twant to find out because we just KNOW the show will be much better when dressed as Dorothy! We can't wait until March 6th!

Valentine's Morning still in her PJ's.

Love those ruby red slippers!

The costume was a few days late.....Here's Toto!

And the rest of the ensemble!

She couldn't wait to put it all on! She wouldn't stand still enough for a perfect smile! This was the best I could do. She was so excited about the costume!

Snow Day #2

We were outside pretty early on Saturday morning trying to enjoy the snow for as long as we could. We knew the temperature would be up to 40+ that day and the white stuff would be gone fairly quickly. We suited up again after throwing Kamdyn's boots in the dryer for a while. She and Richard snowtubed behind our neighbor's utility ATV. We refer to it as "BOB." She threw a little bit of a fit at tubing down the side of the hill until Richard just basically threw her on the tube and made her slide down. After that, she loved it! Kamdyn and I rode the golf cart around the neighborhood to visit some of our other neighbors and play for a while. I finally gave up on the snow and cold. Kamdyn and Richard stayed for a while longer. They had to be popsicles by the time they came inside. We had another round of hot cocoa and took a nap. We awakened to find that the snow was melting at an alarming rate. We decided to go to the grocery store once the roads were cleared. We enjoyed the 24 hour blizzard, but we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Spring! But first, we have to get rid of these terrible colds that have inhabited mine and Kamdyn's body! Boo!

Me and my Snow Bunny!

Daddy took his turn! We have videos of Kamdyn making snow angels and tubing.

First Night of Snow

We were so excited to see the snow! I guess we were in such disbelief that we weren't even sure that it would be around the next morning. SO, what did we do? We dug for any and every piece of warm clothing that we could find. None of us really own "snow" gear (since seeing snow is such a rarity) so we had to do the best we could with the clothes that we had. We should have waited to take pictures of the house and dock the next morning, too, when we had ALL 5 inches. We were all so excited! We made our snowman instead of waiting, too. Kamdyn did not want to come inside even when it got dark. But, the suede boots and bluejeans weren't staying very dry! When we finally got Kamdyn inside, we shed the soggy clothes and enjoyed yummy hot cocoa. I quickly washed and dried all of the clothes and prepared for Round 2 in the AM. I knew she would be up at daybreak! And, she was!

Is it REALLY snowing?

At the first sight of snowflakes on Friday afternoon, we ran out on the deck to catch snowflakes on our tongues....Kamdyn insisted on doing this. It was the very first time she had seen snow. It snowed one night when she was about 9 months old I think, but it didn't accumulate and I know she doesn't remember us bundling her up in the middle of the night to see it! She was SO excited to see the snow!! She could hardly contain herself!

Wishing for an Early Spring.....

Richard saved some seeds from his pepper plants last year. He decided that it was time to plant them in small pots so they could be growing before planting them in the ground when/if Spring ever arrives. His little helper HAD to help!

Monkey Joe B-Day Party

One of my students had her 5th birthday party at Monkey Joe's. She invited Kamdyn and me. This was the perfect opportunity for me to make sure that Kamdyn REALLY wanted to have her party here. She cried when she saw Monkey Joe this time, although last time, she practically chased him down to give him a hug!?!? I told her that if she was scared of Monkey Joe that we didn't need to have her party there. She refused my request and insisted that she was having her party there! Reluctantly, I paid the deposit! On top of crying when she saw Monkey Joe, she refused to go on ANY of the big slides even with Daddy despite the fact that she loved them when she was two! I don't get it! Leave it to a moody little girl to change her mind and change it frequently! Monkey Joe's here we come on March 27th!!

Tutu Toddler

One of our neighbors gave Kamdyn this adorable tutu and headband for Christmas. She HAD to wear it to dance the other night. She stands out just a little bit, but is just TOO CUTE not to share.

The headband didn't stay on too long!

Looks like she is striking a pose!

A Day in PreK

Georgia was sick with strep throat last Monday. Richard could not take the day off work and I really didn't want/need to burn a day either. So, I got permission from my principal to take Kamdyn to school with me. She LOVED it and is completely ready for 4K next year at her school. She did just what she was supposed to do even with me as her teacher. She did argue with me one time about how many more weeks of winter we would have if the groundhog saw his shadow when we made our groundhog prediction graph that day. She insisted that it would only be 3 more weeks of winter even though I told her (and my class) that it was six more weeks. Other than that small incident we got along perfect playing the teacher/student role rather than mommy/daughter. I loved having her there and I am looking forward to her being at my school when she starts Kindergarten. I'm not looking forward to her being 5, but I am looking forward to a little less hectic morning and afternoon schedule. It will be here before I know it!

Jacob and Kamdyn in the Library Center. I don't know who was more excited for her to be there....Jacob or Kamdyn!

Taking a nap....
Brushing her teeth with a WISP!

Up close!!

We were learning about Dental Health and Groundhog's Day.

Funny Church Story

I almost forgot to post this last week because I forgot about it until we were sitting in church again this morning. We go to the contemporary service at our church. At this service we take communion every Sunday. Kamdyn has me break off a small piece of bread each time for her, but she will never let me dip it into the "wine" goblet. Last Sunday, we returned to our seats and she said, "Mama, I don't want to dip my bread in that yucky blood pressure!" I cracked up laughing. I explained to her that it was really grape juice, but just represents the blood of Christ. I guess this proves that she listens to the preacher a little more that I think. She heard him say that it was the body and blood of Christ and didn't want to drink the blood (a.k.a. blood pressure). There's never a dull moment and she doesn't really miss a beat! :)
