How can it be? She is 9-years-old and in the 4th grade!! Even though I am sad at how quickly she is growing up, I am also so very proud of the little lady that she is becoming. This year she will begin AIG - a.k.a. the Gifted Program. It starts in 4th grade here in NC. We are super excited for all of the higher level thinking that our girl will get from attending twice a week for both reading and math. I love anything that teaches children to think outside of the box. We have no doubt that she will excel in this new adventure and new program. The testing process to get into this program was intense. She had to take several additional standardized tests on top of the required ones in order to qualify. She passed in both reading and math with scores that simply amazed us!
She also moved to a beautiful brand new school this year. I can't say enough about the overall vibe when entering the front doors of this school. The staff, teachers, administration are all so positive and happy. I am so glad that we chose to move Kamdyn even though it's on a traditional calendar. We are proud to be Scott's Ridge Sailors!!
Our girl was a bit worried about not having any friends in her class. Sydney's Mom and I discussed emailing the principal to see if there would be a chance to get Kamdyn and Sydney in the same class again. We decided to let the chips fall where they may. And, what do you know? These girls ended up in the same class again....and there are 5 fourth grade classes. We were actually at the lake when the post cards arrived. Sydney called my cell phone asking to talk to Kamdyn. Sydney checked our mail (without us knowing) and wanted to surprise Kamdyn by telling her that they got in the same class. I asked Sydney to tell me first, but she politely said, "Can I talk to Kamdyn first? I want to tell her." It was so sweet!
Needless to say, we are excited about the year and this new adventure. Mrs. Nowak, look out, because here she comes!!

| Little brother and little sister were running all around the house while we were taking pics of the big kids. These two will be starting Kindergarten next year together. Heaven help the teacher if both of them end up in the same class! ;) |
