A Kite Kinda Day!

Our neighborhood was buzzing on Friday afternoon when I got home from work- golf carts, 4-wheelers, neighbors walking, neighbors working in the yard, etc.  As soon as we pulled in the garage Catherine was on her bicycle at our house.  It was a nice windy day so I suggested Kamdyn get out her kite.  Richard seemed to be a little kite challenged this year, but managed to keep the kite going for a little while so both girls could have a chance to hold it.  When the conventional way failed, he jumped on the back of Bart's 4-wheeler and they attempted to fly the kite in their own way???  I hate that I don't have photos of this, but Richard almost fell off the 4 wheeler.

The girls running with the kite in the field across the street from our house.

This blue sky was unbelievable!

I am sure this was when the heckling began about Richard not being able to fly the kite and I am sure the suggestion was made for him to get on the 4-wheeler BACKWARDS!!

I LOVE this weather and I LOVE our neighborhood!

Nap or Not?

We have been attempting to give Kamdyn a taste of life without a two hour nap in preparation for a full napless day in Kindergarten next year.  She has always been a good napper.  Most days she naps for two hours.  Occasionally we have been throwing in a napless day or two just to see how she does!

This was after I picked her up from Georgia.  She immediately tried to go to sleep as soon as we got in the car.  When she heard the camera turn on she gave me a closed-eye grin!  She's a stinker!

Spring MUST Be On the Way!

Last Saturday was such a perfect day!  We took complete advantage of the beautiful weather and were outside ALL day long.  We loaded up the golf cart at 10:00 AM and ventured to the park in downtown North Augusta.

Then, we left the park to have lunch at a yummy little Italian Restaurant called Antonio's in North Augusta.  We left our golf cart parked at the Pink Dipper.  Kamdyn couldn't stand the thought of going home without a scoop of cookie dough ice cream!

Richard added an amenity to his golf cart....now we have tunes to keep us entertained as we ride!

She's gotta touch the belly!!

We made our way home for some playtime with Catherine, Kamdyn's favorite neighbor that lives a few houses down.

Next, was a relaxing boat ride.....the kind that you can actually enjoy when the boat is stopped!  Not a bead of sweat to be found!

I managed to be able to reach my toes for some pink polish; however, I fear that this may be the first and last time that my toes are painted by me prior to Baby K's arrival!  Kamdyn has offered to fancy my toes up next time!  :)

We ended the afternoon with a yummy firecracker Popsicle.  Kamdyn decided she didn't like it about half way through!
I LOVE spending days like this with my family!  Our day was super and I truly hope that Spring is on the way!

Valentine's Day (Part 3)

Kamdyn had a very nice Valentine's Day!  She woke up to a sweet gift from Mommy and Daddy, but really from Daddy.  I was so blown away at his thoughtfulness this year for our sweet girl.  Usually, I'm the one buying the presents around here.  Not only did he purchase her present, but he did so without even telling me about it.  When it arrived in the mail, I was shocked that he thought of the perfect gift, ordered it, AND had it engraved with her name all arriving BEFORE Valentine's Day!!  This took some planning!!  I love surprises and even though this one wasn't technically for me, I was more surprised that Kamdyn was!  We love you Richard and we are so happy to be your number 1 Valentines!

Kamdyn waking up to her card.

Reading her card aloud to us.....EVERY word without a mistake!  Our precious little reader amazes us!

Opening her box...it must be jewelry!

Checking it out!

Daddy helping her get it out of the box.

Trying to open her beautiful new heart shaped locket engraved with her name on the front.

Opening it to find a picture of Mommy on one side of the heart and Daddy on the other!

She had to put it on immediately.  She has worn it every day since then!  She told me one day this week, "Mom, when I wear this locket, I will always have you close to my heart!"  And to that, my heart melted!

We finished off our Valentine's Day celebration that night at Mi Rancho's....yummy Mexican!

Valentine's Part 2

Kamdyn and I met Nanny at Cracker Barrel in Greenwood for a pre-Valentine's Day celebration.  Nanny gave Kamdyn the newest book in the "Pinkalicious" series.....Silverlicious.  Just like anything else, you can never compete with the first.  Silverlicious is cute, but could never outshine the original Pinkalicious.

We had a wonderful lunch and we were so glad to meet Nanny!  We can't wait to do it again soon!

Valentine's Weekend Part 1

Richard and Kamdyn have still been going to the Lowe's Build and Grow workshops.  Kamdyn loves them!  This week they made a heart shaped music box..  It is precious and it's FREE!!!  I love these Saturdays because I get a little bit of time to myself while Kamdyn and Daddy enjoy some precious Daddy/Daughter time.  Richard brought it to my attention that Kamdyn's favorite thing to do after the workshop is to go and look at the toilets in Lowe's.  We have no idea why, but he says she inspects all of them.  No matter the reason, it still makes me laugh!!  We will have to get some photos of this next time!  Unfortunately, Richard is not as keen on taking out the camera in public like I am!  :)

Lowe's Build and Grow Music Box

Excuse the hair.  She had been playing outside for a while on this beautiful almost 70 degree day!

Meet Sparkles, our new Beta fish.  Kamdyn has been asking for another one since Sylvie died.  Valentine's seemed like the perfect reason to get another one.  Immediately, she named him Sparkles.  She said, "I've had this named saved up for a long time!"  Let's hope that Sparkles lives a little longer.

24 Weeks

24 Weeks with Baby K in 2011

Kamdyn wanted to jump in for the 24 week photo

2006 pregnant with Kamdyn - not exactly sure how many weeks, but close to what I am now....I am wearing the same pink maternity shirt!

I have been feeling really good here lately.  I actually did my first Zumba class this past Wednesday at 24 weeks pregnant and loved it!!  It is going to be my new exercise routine while I am pregnant.  They have it right after school in our school gym which means it is super convenient.  Baby K's name still hasn't been 100% decided upon, but I have my name picked out and I lovingly refer to her at that precious name.  I have a feeling she will end up being named what I have chosen.  Stay tuned.......I got back to the doctor this Thursday for a check-up.  I am sure my next visit will include the wonderful glucose test.  I hope this doctor is as merciful as my last doctor and allows me to eat a KING size Snickers rather than drink that nasty stuff!

Vegetable Soup and Nutella

How do you get your four-year-old to eat an ENTIRE bowl of vegetable soup?  (She even ate the great big lima beans that she swears she hates!!)

Promise her a piece of toast with Nutella!  Kamdyn has found a new love!!  I will have to admit, it is delicious, but not so nutritious!

Kamdyn's Baptism

Richard and I finally decided to join the church that we have been visiting for over two years.  Kamdyn also needed to be baptized since we were not attending a church in North Augusta when she was born.

Our gracious family came down on Saturday afternoon to spend the night with us in preparation for Kamdyn's big day on Sunday at 9:00 AM.  We are so blessed!

Kamdyn did awesome as she stood up in the front of the church with our family beside her.  I couldn't see her face when they sprinkled her beautiful head with water, but the audience said that she was smiling from ear to ear.  As for me, tears rolled down my face!  It was such a precious day for which I will always be grateful. And while I hate that we missed having her baptized as a baby, I am glad that she knows at the age of 4 the actual meaning and significance of being baptized.  God has blessed us so much and He continues to do so.  I couldn't ask for more!

Seems Baby Vera took a liking to her Uncle Richard.

Kamdyn did so well with Baby Vera around.  It's good practice for her and the arrival of Baby K!

Hanging out after dinner.

On our way to the church service..  Take a peek at Nanny's new white car in the background!

Vera was so awesome during the entire service! She never made a peep!

LOVE this precious family!

I think Vera was giving me a smile!

Kamdyn ran inside ready to get out of her white dress.  I had to coerce her onto the porch for more photos.

Our sweet soon-to-be family of 4!  Baby K has really started making my belly show in the past week!

Kamdyn and her cake!

Publix did a great job considering it was so last minute!

Kamdyn ready to open her presents after her wardrobe change.

She got such wonderful gifts from our gracious friends and family.

For whatever reason, I do not have a photo of Kamdyn and Georgia. But, Georgia and Randy attended the service and Georgia prepared our delicious food!

Chicken Salad, Pimento Cheese, Cold Cuts, Fruit, Crackers, and Croissants.

Everything was delicious and we are so thankful to Georgia for being so much to our family!

Kamdyn and Nanny playing Memory!  Kamdyn likes to show off her skills!  :)

Enjoying lunch....rushing to hold Baby Vera!

Mama Lucy waited patiently for her turn.

She was singing Baby Vera to sleep before her car ride home to Atlanta.  We were sad to see everyone leave, but it was such a great weekend!
