Potter and Carrie

Potter and Carrie stopped by our house today on their way to Columbia from Atlanta. I won't even mention why they were in Atlanta this weekend because the results are less than exciting! However, we are glad that they were able to stop by and visit with us. They wanted to check out our new house while they were here. So, here is Kamdyn walking with Potter and crunching leaves with Carrie.

Jacob's Birthday Party

Kamdyn went to Jacob's birthday party on Saturday. Jacob is the little boy that stays with Kamdyn at Georgia's house. Jacob turns 3 on October 1. Kamdyn had a great time running around playing with the balloons. She also enjoyed watching Jacob open his presents. Surprisingly enough, she didn't even try to get in his way or try to take his presents while he was opening them. I was so impressed at how sweet she was! This was the first birthday party that she has attended that she actually was able to participate in. All of her other party experiences were when she was under the age of 1. Here are a few pictures of her in her party attire. He had a Diego Party!

Swimming in the Bathtub

One of Kamdyn's new favorite things to do is swim in the bathtub. She will lay down on her belly, kick her feet, and move her arms. This is a video of her playing in the bathtub and talking. She is saying, "I Mama Sucy's booger." Mama Lucy tells Kamdyn that she is her booger all the time. Then, she says, "I 'wimmin," even though she's really not. She then says, "poop poop" because we had one incident when she pooped in the tub. She was so scared of "it" that she screamed bloody murder and had to get out of the tub IMMEDIATELY. Boy was that an experience that I hope doesn't happen again. YUCK! Last, she plays with the cup and says "Whoa cup!" Not sure what that meant. Anyway, just in case you can't understand exactly what she says, I thought I would give you the translated version!

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and ABC's

Here is Kamdyn helping me sing another Nursery Rhyme. Yes, this is what our living room looks like EVERY football Saturday. Three TV's appear in my living room around 10:00am and they don't disappear until either REALLY late Saturday night or early Sunday morning. The TV's and Kamdyn's toys are almost enough to send me over the edge. :) However, I let the two of my "babies" enjoy their weekends just as they want.

At the end of the video you hear Kamdyn saying her ABC's. She can say all of them, but the little trickster has now learned the part "now I know my ABC's" and she wants to skip the ABC's and move right to the end of the song. What a mess!?!? :) I have a feeling she is going to have a witty personality like her Daddy.

Humpty Dumpty

Kamdyn has fallen in love with "Humpy Dumpy," as she likes to call him. She can say most of the rhyme by herself, but likes it best when I leave out the last word. In this video, she is desperately trying to get the camera out of my hands because she wants to watch the video of herself on "playback mode" on the other side of the camera. You can hear her say, "I see Kamdyn." This is just a small glimpse into some of the "fits" she has these days! :) Just as she has started everything else early, I believe she is in the beginning stages of the "Terrible Twos." There are some things I would be fine with her being late on!! This is definitely one of them!

Watching our Tigers Play

Today Kamdyn, Richard, and I all dressed in our orange as we sat down to watch the Tigers play. What a great game it was! While the game was going on, Kamdyn and I were having a photo shoot! You can imagine how that aggravated Daddy! Oh well! You have to capture babies when they are in the mood, especially once they are on the move. Kamdyn was running around saying "Go Tigers" and "Football Game." Here she is attempting to wear her new Clemson hairbow. We still haven't got used to leaving them in. You can tell what a "mess" she is just by some of these pictures.

Welcome Home, Nanny!

Hip Hip Hooray! Nanny got to go home yesterday. We are so thankful that she is not in the hospital anymore and is feeling much better. Her only issue at this time is a little bit of an infected incision. She is having to have her bandage changed twice a day and packed with a guaze-like material. Pop Pop is having to play nurse and has had to learn how to do this so he can take care of her. Wow! Pop Pop has really done a great job during Nanny's surgery/recovery! Thanks, Pop Pop!

Kamdyn has been able to talk to Nanny on the phone some this week and that has made both Nanny and Kamdyn feel better. Kamdyn knows that Nanny has been sick and will say, "Nanny sick" and "Nanny has a b00-b00." We hope to see her soon, but we are sitting at home this weekend (literally) after being out-of-town for 3 weekends in a row. Mommy is BEAT and needs some REST!! :)

We LOVE you, Nanny, and we are so glad that you are on the road to recovery. We know you will be back to "yourself" in no time!!

Happy Birthday to Pop Pop

Today was Pop Pop's birthday. He turned the ripe young age of 60. We wish we could have been there to celebrate his 60th birthday with him, but 2 hrs. was a bit too far to drive after being there all last week. I'm sure he could think of a million other ways that he would want to spend his birthday rather than being at the hospital; however, Nanny needs him more now than he will ever know! I know she appreciates all that he has done for her while she has been "out of commission."

WE LOVE YOU, POP POP!! WE WISH YOU MANY, MANY MORE!!!

What to be for Halloween?

I am trying desperately to decide what Kamdyn should be for Halloween. She has a book about ladybugs and she LOVES counting the ladybugs in the book. She can also pick out a ladybug no matter where she sees it and can say "ladybug." However, she has recently discovered Mickey and Minnie Mouse. She can point both Micky and Minnie out no matter where she sees them and can also say "Mickey Mouse" and "Minnie Mouse." When I ask her what she wants to dress up as for Halloween (as if she really knows what Halloween is) she 90% of the time says Minnie Mouse. I think both costumes are adorable and would be precious on her, but I just can't decide. Here are pictures of both. Maybe you all can help me decide!

House

Well, I go away for a week and come back to find two stories of our house all framed in. It is finally starting to take shape and we are finally able to put the house in to perspective. It is still hard to judge it's size as far as the actual rooms go; however, there are actual rooms there to look at. We took Kamdyn out there on Sunday. All she wanted to do was "walk." We had to explain to her that there were nails everywhere and they could hurt her feet. In the meantime, I was walking around in my flip flops as if nails couldn't possibly penetrate the sole of my rainbows! :) Do as I say, not as I do right?!?!? Here are a few pics we took with Kamdyn in them. Notice that Kamdyn's clothes are 100% too little for her. I just don't get it......she grows WAY too fast!!! If interested, you can visit www.savannahriverhouse.blogspot.com to see the updated pictures of the actual house. I started this blog on our house so I could actually remember the process of our building this house!

Nanny

I am pleased and so thankful to say that Nanny is on the road to recovery. She is still in the hospital and is still in a great deal of pain, but she continues to do better with each passing day. She is now able to get out of the bed and go to the restroom on her own. I am hoping that she will be able to go home by Wednesday. Kamdyn got to visit with Nanny today for a little while at the hospital. I think Kamdyn really perked my Mom up. Of course, Kamdyn wanted to push all of the buttons on my Mom's bed so she could go for a ride. She also wanted to run around in the halls. She did manage to say, "I love Nanny" while we were there and she gave her a kiss or two. Thanks to all of you who said a prayer for my Mom, sent cards, get well email/phone wishes, flowers, etc.. A special thanks to Ruthie and Mama Lucy for taking care of my sweet Kamdyn all week while I was with my Mom. We've been so blessed, not just once, but twice. God is Good! I will keep you posted on her progress.

Taking Time to Smell the Flowers

How appropriate it was for Kamdyn to be doing this one day prior to my Mom's surgery. I watched in amazement and almost in tears as Kamdyn took many precious moments to smell these flowers. She smelled each and every flower on the plant. I was reminded yet again of just how precious life is and how often we take the simple things for granted. Children are so sweet and innocent that they stop to explore everything and they actually recognize and enjoy the little things in life. Time means nothing to them and they are never in a hurry. How wonderful it would be if we as adults had time to actually "smell" each and every "flower" as we went through each day. What a sweet angel we have in Kamdyn to remind us of the "little" things. Those of you with children know exactly how I feel and what I am talking about! Having a child definitely makes you want to be a better person.

I wasn't kidding when I said she smelled EVERY flower!!!

I LOVE MAMA LUCY!!!

Kamdyn is staying with Ruthie and Mama Lucy at Mama Lucy's house while my Mom has her surgery. They have been such a big help to me during this difficult and stressful time. Kamdyn enjoys her time with Mama Lucy and Ruthie and she especially LOVES going outside. She will tell you all day, "outside." That means she wants to go NOW! However, she has to wait until it isn't as hot. Here she is in the evening enjoying some time with Mama Lucy in the grass. She says, "run fast," as her little legs churn as fast as they can, but she stays in almost the same place! She thinks she is sprinting, but in all actuality, she hasn't moved very far at all. What a sweetie she is and how wonderful it is that she gets to spend so much time with Mama Lucy. Not many children these days get to see their Great Grandparents because they have already passed on, as was the case with me. We are so thankful for Mama Lucy and her health! She is so special to our family and is especially special to Kamdyn!

Mama Lucy's House

I am completely amazed at how big my sweet little baby is getting. It seems just like yesterday that I was holding her in my arms and she was completely unable to do anything for herself. Now, she wants nothing to do with this holding business and wants to do EVERYTHING all by herself. While I am glad that she is such an independent little girl, I sometimes miss that sweet teeny baby that depended on me and needed me for everything. I know that she still "needs" me; however, her independent nature tells her differently! I watch in amazement as she explores her world and says/learns something new each and everyday. I am reminded constantly at how busy our life is and how I sometimes wish that I could freeze time. It seems that life never slows down for any of us. It only gets faster the older that we get. I try to cherish every moment, but the moments just seem to come and go so quickly that I can't keep up. My little sweetie is a constant reminder to me of how precious life truly is. She keeps me going even when the "going gets tough!"

Here she is enjoying some time with Uncle Matthew at Mama Lucy's. I remember when Kamdyn got lost in this little red rocking chair. Now she fits it perfectly!

Clemson Game #2

Unfortunately, Kamdyn wasn't able to make it to this tailgate due to the early kick off time. However, we had a GREAT time and got to visit with lots of our friends. Kamdyn got to hang out with Nanny and Pop Pop and I KNOW that she was enjoying herself immensely!!!

Here is sweet Baby Sophia posing with her pretty Mommy! Sophia is such a sweet baby! Hopefully Kamdyn will get to meet her soon because she LOVES babies!

Mommy or Daddy

I decided to help you all out with the poll. Who does Kamdyn really look like? Mommy or Daddy? I definitely think she is a healthy mix of both of us; however, I scanned some baby pics of me at my Mom and Dad's house this weekend. Do you need to change your vote or were you right the first time?

Tailgate Appearance

Kamdyn was able to make it to the first tailgate of the season thanks to Ruthie (formerly known as Grand or Ruth Ann.) We took Kamdyn out to the tailgate around 10:00. Ruthie came out there around 11:00 and left with Kamdyn around 12:30. Kamdyn had a blast!! She LOVED wearing Allison's bracelet and played with it the entire time she was there. I thought giving it back may cause a "scene," but luckily she gave it right back. Kamdyn also loved going "up the hill" and "down the hill." She only fell two times, which was great! She also played with bubbles and even danced to some of Shannon's music. She ate some vanilla wafer mini "tookies" and she got to meet Baby Carlyn for the first time, too. She also enjoyed trying to wear Christy's glasses! Oh, and I almost forgot to mention........WE BEAT THE SEMINOLES!!!!!! GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!
