Memorial Day Weekend

It's been a week or so since my last post and even though our blog doesn't show for it, we have really been busy around here! The best part is that summer has officially started! We couldn't be happier with our life here in North Augusta. The past two weekends have been filled with fun, sun, friends, food, and water everywhere!!

We spent Memorial Day at the pool with our neighbors across the street along with the many other wonderful neighbors that we now have. I don't know how else to say it besides WE LOVE LIVING HERE!!!

Kamdyn was a little hesitant about getting in the water this year with her swimmies. We figured out that the problem was the Dora swimmies. They didn't hold her up as well as the plain 'ole orange ones did! After changing the swimmies, she has been swimming like a fish!

Kamdyn kept turning her hat around backwards! She was too funny!

Emily was giving Kamdyn swimming "lessons."

Goodbye Wheeless Road

My sweet friends, Denise and Debra, arranged for all of our Wheeless Road teachers to get together for somewhat of a farewell party for Suzanne and me. It's hard to say goodbye to such wonderful people; however, I know that I am doing what is best for me and for my family. I will miss all of them dearly, but I know that we will forever be friends. I am blessed to know each of them!

Suzanne, me and Denise
Two of my "bestest" friends in the world and two of the most awesome women, moms, and teachers that I know!! They have been such a blessing to me! When I "grow up" I want to be just like them!!

My favorite custodian, McGee! He was always so wonderful to me. I will miss him dearly!

Beach Photo Session

I finally have these photos back. We actually had them taken during Spring Break in Hilton Head. I must mention that we chose a day when it was barely 60 degrees. There were 25-30 mph wind gusts and we almost had to cancel the session. Our wonderful photographer, Lora, agreed to go ahead and do the session despite the weather so that we could get back to North Augusta and enjoy our week off. All in all I was very pleased with the photos. Out of 168 photos these were some of my favorites including the ones previously posted with Ruthie! I still have to place my order and I'm going to have a difficult time narrowing these down to a package that is in my budget!

Yamaha

Kamdyn: "Pop Pop can you draw a boat for me?"

Pop Pop: "Yes."

Kamdyn: "That's a good boat, but you forgot something........the Yamaha!"

Pop Pop: "I left off the engine?"

Kamdyn: "Yes, you left off the engine called a Yamaha!"

This is the conversation that was going on in the living room that I overheard while I was getting ready in my bathroom. Her Daddy will be so proud!

Happy Birthday, Ruthie!

Ruthie, we hope your birthday is fabulous! Thank you for sharing our beach photo session with us. We love you dearly and can't wait to show the other photos to you! The scanned photos just DO NOT do them justice!! Hugs and Kisses from all of us!!

Mother's Day 2009

Mother's Day was very relaxing and laid back. We spent Saturday night at Nanny and Pop Pop's house. On Sunday, we spent the day with Mama Lucy and Ruthie. We had such a good time. When we got back to our house, Kamdyn gave me this precious card that her Daddy helped her make! I love thoughtful gifts. All of the money and/or most expensive gifts in the world couldn't make me happier than a card like this! I am blessed to be loved by Kamdyn and Richard!

Baby Moonbeam

We just got Kamdyn's dance pictures back tonight. I was hoping they would be back before Mother's Day so we could share them with the Grandmothers. I hope they never get tired of getting pictures!

Attempting to get Kamdyn ready for these pictures was quite interesting. I'll never understand how mother's of "beauty queens" do it?!?! Trying to get all of Kamdyn's hair up and away from her face was mere torture for the both of us. She was crying and I was sweating because we were late. We survived. We had the pictures taken. I'm already dreading getting her ready for the recital. Enough said......

My Moonbeam Baby Girl

My cheesin' Baby Moonbeam! You have no idea how long it took to get all four of them posing and smiling at the same time. Thank goodness the other half of the class is wearing a different costume and had a separate group picture taken. We would still bethere trying to capture the "perfect" shot!

Being Silly with Mama Lucy

Unfortunately, we've been to two funerals in the past week. One of the funerals was in Anderson so we got to spend a couple of days with Mama Lucy. While the occasion wasn't so great, we were happy to get a little extra Mama Lucy time. Kamdyn loves her so much!

Brady and Kelly's Wedding

I'm playing "catch-up" with the blog since May has proven to be just as crazy as April!

My high school friend, Brady, was married on May 2nd in Columbia. We are so happy for him and Kelly. She is awesome!

We took Kamdyn with us for two reasons. One, we didn't have a babysitter. Two, we wanted her to see the flower girl in action so she would know what to do in the two upcoming weddings that she is in. Our plan backfired as the flower girl refused to walk down the aisle. Just my luck!!! I explained to Kamdyn that she was actually supposed to walk down the aisle and make it pretty by throwing out rose petals. Kamdyn wanted to get up, get the basket from the little girl, and throw the rose petals for her. I had to make her understand that it wasn't her turn yet. She promises that she will be brave when it is her turn. We shall see!

Kamdyn had a great time at the reception running around, attempting to stick her fingers in all of the food, including the cake. Richard and I were on patrol ALL night making sure that she stayed AWAY from the food! She danced and danced and danced! Her favorite dance partner was Brady. Poor guy was too nice to turn her down even after her 10 requests to dance with him. They also had the cutest candy table that Kamdyn hovered around during the night, too. M&M's are her favorite and they had a vase as big as Kamdyn filled to the top! We stayed until 10:30 or so. She cried when we left, but was asleep before we got out of the parking lot!

In front of the candy table.

Ignore my hair....it rained during the ceremony. When we came out you could cut the air with a knife! Perfect weather for my hair!! Again, just my luck!

SO SWEET!

Dancing the night away!
