Happy Halloween

I finally broke down and bought Kamdyn a Halloween costume even though I knew that she would not make it to a Halloween Festival nor would she go trick-or-treating since she must be in bed by 7:00. She gets so fussy that she can't even stand herself! I loved the little Hershey's Kiss costume and I just knew that this costume would look adorable on her little round body. Luckily, UPS dropped the costume off at our house on Saturday. I was so happy that we didn't take Kamdyn anywhere because she was OH SO FUSSY after we got her home from Ms. Georgia's. We could hardly get her to pose for the pictures through her fussing and crying! She still managed to look adorable for her first Halloweeen. As you can see she wanted to eat the costume, especially the Hershey's tag. For those of you who don't know.....she is obsessed with putting things in her mouth and she is obsessed with tags. She even tried to eat a piece of Halloween Candy! :)

Pool Shark

Georgia (Kamdyn's babysitter) had to stop by her church the other day while she was keeping Kamdyn. One of Georgia's friends took these pictures of Kamdyn sitting on the pool table with the pool stick and pool balls. Kamdyn gets to go lots of places with Ms. Georgia! She is such a great babysitter and we are so blessed to have her. By the way, she is wearing her "My Uncle Loves Me" T-shirt! We were leaving that day to visit Mama Lucy and Uncle Matthew.

Mommy and Me Pictures

Here are some of the pics from the Mommy and Me photo session. They are not my favorites, but I really did like all of them. My favorites are at the studio getting prints made from them and/or being put in her album. Kamdyn did great! She is so photogenic! I had the choice of wearing one of the studio's nightgowns, but I chose to just wear my own white clothes. I wanted to feel comfortable, casual, and like myself. I was so worried that I was going to be making the craziest faces. It was difficult trying to keep Kamdyn's clothes fixed, get her to smile, hold her hands out of the way, and try to keep myself looking decent ALL at the SAME time! Here are the results!

The one thing I am so ready for is frilly hairbows!!! When is my baby going to grow some hair? There isn't even enough hair up there to attach a bow with tape! Of course, I still think she is beautiful, but I am definitely ready for some bows!

Pumpkin Patch

Kamdyn went to the Pumpkin Patch with Na-Na last Saturday (10/21). As you can see, Kamdyn really enjoyed herself and I am sure that Na-Na did, too. We were at the GA Tech game so we didn't get to take Kamdyn for her first Pumpkin Patch experience. However, we are thankful that Na-Na was able to take her for us!

Our Little Beethoven

Kamdyn, Richard, and I spent the night at Mama Lucy's house on Friday night before the GA Tech game. Mama Lucy hadn't spent time with Kamdyn in quite a while so she was quite eager to see Kamdyn. Kamdyn and Mama Lucy disappeared to the back of the house for a little while. We heard music coming from the back bedroom. I walked in to find my little angel sitting in the middle of the bed playing the most beautiful music I had ever heard. Well, maybe not the most beautiful music I had ever heard, but she definitely was the cutest little thing I had ever seen playing a keyboard. She had a blast and it was definitely a Kodak moment!

Yellow Veggies

Well, Kamdyn is officially eating baby food. She wasn't so sure about it though. We started with squash. She did great with about the first 3-4 spoonfuls. Then, she started blowing bubbles and trying to get it out of her mouth. Then, she started making the most awful face in the world. I, after seeing her make this terrible face, decided that I needed to try the squash. I figured that if I was going to feed it to her, I needed to know what it tasted like. I only had a tiny taste, but it wasn't bad. I think she was just shocked that she was finally getting to eat something with a flavor other than milk. She's doing much better though! Na-Na and Ms. Georgia have both pretty much got her used to both squash and carrots. Richard and I were out-of-town the entire weekend, so we didn't get to help too much with the newness of the baby food. She is doing surprisingly well!

Here is Kamdyn with her first Baby Food Experience:

This was after her very 1st bite.

Here she is making a face!

Check out her crazy spoon! Her normal spoon was dirty.
This one was free.

I also stopped nursing as of this past weekend. I forgot "the pump" when we went to Charlotte to the Clemson/Temple game. There was absolutely nothing I could do because we were already at the tailgate and game time was near. I decided then and there that I had had enough! Kamdyn hasn't seemed bothered by it at all. I made it 6 1/2 months. I am pretty proud of myself. After those sleepless nights with feedings every two hours, I never imagined that I would have made it this long! Most of you know that "the pump" has accompanied me EVERYWHERE for the past 6 months. It's OVER (at least until Baby #2 gets here) and no one has to hear me worrying about finding a place to pump for quite a while. YEA!!

Daddy's Trauma

On Sunday, Daddy was so sweet (or should I say that he was trying to be)! He was getting up with Kamdyn so that I could sleep in since I hardly ever get to do that anymore. He leaves our room and closes the door behind him. Next thing I know, I hear him screaming "KIM, HELP!!! HELP!!! HURRY!!!" I knew the sound of that scream. He found something he wasn't expecting in her diaper. Not only had he found a dirty diaper, but Kamdyn had stuck her foot in it, too. He was the funniest thing! He couldn't run away from her because she would end up covered in it. So he held her feet at arms length, turned his head away so not to "catch a smell," and he screamed bloody murder for me. Mommy ran to the rescue and saved the day. Daddy didn't want HELP he wanted to RUN. I ended up cleaning her up AND I changed her diaper. So much for sleeping in.......I was wide awake and practically rolling on the floor laughing at Richard. NO, he doesn't do dirty diapers. We are working on that weak stomach of his.

I just had to share this story......some of you Dads and Dads-to-be can either relate or will be able to relate real soon! I know all of the Moms completelyunderstand!

It's hard to believe that something so foul smelling
can come out of someone that looks as precious as this!

I Miss Mama Lucy

Mama Lucy, Richard's Grandmother, comes to stay with us every so often for a week. We all enjoy her being here, especially Kamdyn. Kamdyn gets to spend all day with her and absolutely LOVES it! Mama Lucy being here also gives Mommy and Daddy a chance to sleep a little longer in the mornings since we don't have to get Kamdyn up and ready to go to Ms. Georgia's house. While Kamdyn misses Ms. Georgia, we enjoy the few mintues extra sleep and the help at home from Mama Lucy.

Mama Lucy was here with us week before last. We decided that we needed to send Mama Lucy a thank you note from all of us. And, we thought we would take a picture of Kamdyn holding a sign saying "I Miss You, Mama Lucy" to mail in Mama Lucy's thank you card.

Here are pics to show how that went. Kamdyn, who is in to everything now, has to hold and put everything in her mouth. We got so tickled at her grabbing at this piece of paper as we tried to take her picture. Richard would hold the paper and try to let go really quickly while I tried to snap the picture. It didn't go so well! We did finally snap one picture that we could send.

Here's how it went.....
Kamdyn immediately grabbed the paper out of
Richard's hand and crumbled it up!
Then, we tried holding it over her head so she couldn't get to it,
but I couldn't get the paper and her in the picture.

This is what we were left with!
We mailed it to Mama Lucy and she loved it!
Oh well, it's the thought that counts!

"Officially" Sitting Up

Well, our little sweet pea is finally sitting up on her own. I've been waiting patiently to publish this on the blog because I haven't really known when to actually "say" that she is sitting up. She's been sitting up for a while, but she's been wobbly at times. Now, she can sit up by herself for long periods of time without falling over. However, I do put pillows around her just in case. She will be figuring out how to get from the floor to sitting position soon.

She is growing up so fast! I wish I could freeze time and enjoy these moments a little longer. They come and go so fast. Before I turn around, she is reaching another milestone. It truly is amazing how time flies. It seems to go even faster now that we have her. What did we do before she was here?

She went to the doctor today for her 6 month check up. She weighs 17 lbs. 10 1/2 oz. and she is 26 1/2 inches long. She is in the 75th percentile for both height and weight. We are now going to start feeding her baby food. We're starting with yellow veggies first. Wish us luck!!

Tiny Tiger Tailgater.......Game 2

Kamdyn joined us for the LA Tech tailgate until my parents came to pick her up. Luckily, the game was a late one so my parents were able to pick her up around lunch time without getting in any of the traffic. It was really chilly that morning so Kamdyn had to wear her sweater over her Clemson tennis outfit. "Uncle" Potter finally held little Kamdyn. It's the first time that he has held her since he was dressed in the Tiger suit at our house. She's grown quite a bit since then. Mommy and Daddy had to get their picture made with Kamdyn, too. We don't have very many family pictures with all three of us.
