Mother's Day

We went to my parents house and to Mama Lucy's house for Mother's Day this year. Kamdyn enjoyed playing in the yard at Mama Lucy's house on Saturday. She got to pick flowers and run around!

On Sunday, she chased bubbles in the yard at Na-Na and Pop Pop's house. Then, she showed out (in a good way) for all of us during our Mother's Day Lunch. She talked, she made faces, she got mad at me, she threw food in the floor, etc. She is such a hoot! It's not even possible to explain her personality in words on this blog. I'm going to have to get better at including more videos so all of you can REALLY see that I am not exaggerating about how energetic, talkative, precocious, etc., that she can be. We really have our hands full, but it is the most wonderful and enjoyable experience that I've ever had. I wouldn't trade any of it for the world! She is the most adorable thing that I've ever seen. She makes me smile and laugh outloud like I never have before!

A Day in the Yard

Here we are spending a Sunday afternoon in the yard with Kamdyn. She absolutely LOVES being outside. When we make her come back inside she throws a temper tantrum. She has gotten so good at walking around. We no longer feel the need to follow her everywhere she goes out of fear that she will fall and hurt herself. However, when she is outside she tends to gravitate toward the concrete. And that does make me a little nervous! She loves to pick up leaves, say "leaf", throw them down, and them stomp on them. She does this over and over and over again! By the way, we desperately need new patio furniture. It was handed down to us and it's going to be a purchase that I make in the near future (right, Richard!). :)

First Concert

North Augusta had a "Hammin' and Jammin" festival this year. It was the first one, but is going to be an annual event. Basically a bunch of people get together, tailgate, and BBQ pigs. Then, they compete to see whose tastes the best. They have different vendors there along with concerts each night. The Blue Dogs played on Saturday night at 7:00 so we decided that we would brave it with Kamdyn in tow. Mrs. Georgia (babysitter) was actually on one of the teams competing for the BBQ competition. So, we visited with them for a while, ate a little bit of BBQ, and then enjoyed The Blue Dogs. You can see the Blue Dogs in the background of a couple of the pictures with Kamdyn.

Kamdyn did really well, much to our surprise. She did so well that we even got to stay and hear Aaron Tippin sing a few songs, too. However, she did have a few screaming spells. To our advantage though, no one could hear her over the music! She refused to give up and go to sleep in her stroller. She would dance a while, look around a while, cry a while, lay back in her stroller a while, and repeat it all over again. She finally got in to the bed around 10:00 that night. It was a late night for her! We just knew that she would sleep late the next morning. What were we thinking? She was up with the chickens promptly at 6:30 AM!!! Oh well!!!
