Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving really was pretty wonderful this year!  We did really miss our Florida Terry crew and Ruthie.  Kathy and Jim came over.  It was the 7 of us and it was perfect.  Nanny prepared a delicious Thanksgiving meal.  Will I ever learn to cook like her?  Probably not.  Sorry, Richard!  Kathy and Jim brought a delicious broccoli casserole and some desserts.  It was low key and just what we needed after several really busy weeks and weekends.  

Georgia and Randy came to visit on the Friday after Thanksgiving.  Kamdyn and Karcie tricked Georgia into playing the Bean Boozled Challenge.  She had to eat a jellybean that tasted like fish. She says that she learned her lesson with that game.  YUCK!!  

I love our little family and every second that we get to spend together.

Karcie Girl

Some day you just want to wear your Bass Pro Shops hat....it thrilled her Daddy so he snapped a quick pic.

I'm so proud of this girl and how well she is learning to ready and write at school!  She sounded out these words all by herself.  I remember when I thought she would NEVER learn her ABC's.  

Our Precious Mama Lucy

Our precious Mama Lucy went to be with Jesus on November 12.  Richard and Matthew were there the entire week before as they moved her in to the hospice house in Anderson.  I am so thankful that they were able to spend those last days with her.  She lived such a long, faithful, and healthy life.  I am proud to say that I was part of her family.  She was a true servant of the Lord.  She was kind, giving, loving, and would let you know when you stepped out of line.  Kamdyn's middle name is Lucy after Mama Lucy.  I have always said that Kamdyn is an "old soul."  She spent so much time with Mama Lucy when she was little.  I pray that both of my girls will live their lives by example just as Mama Lucy did.  I know that her legacy will live on in her four great granddaughters.

We will miss her terribly, but we are so thankful for the many years that she was here with us.  Not many children get so much time with their great grandparents.  I feel blessed that Kamdyn and Karcie did.  Our lives are better because of Mama Lucy.

We got to visit with Mama Lucy just a few hours before she passed away.  We talked to her, loved on her, and the girls sang to her.  It was hard for me to keep it together, but I did for my girls.  I will forever be grateful for these final minutes that we were able to share with Mama Lucy.  

I posted several photos that I love with Mama Lucy in them.  At times like this, I am grateful for my blog.  It takes so much time to keep up with it, but when I need photos, they are only a "tag" away.

Family Photos

I scheduled our family photos to be taken on Veteran's Day in SC because the girls were out of school and we were going to be down there anyway.  Plus, my favorite photographer is there and he was available!

I took a few on my Mom's porch before we actually left.  These girls have grown so much.  I am proud of them in every single way.  How did I get so lucky to be their Mommy?

Trolls!

Richard was out-of-town and I took the girls to see the Trolls movie. They had just gotten home from school and we had nothing to do that night.  I look at my phone and it said the movie started at 4:50.  It was 4:40.  I said, "Get in the car!"  We made it and the previews were still on!!

 It was super cute! Now we are all about some Trolls in this house.  Santa's sleigh might be filled with  lots of Trolls loot!

NC State and VA Tech - Say what?

My dear Clemson friend, Betsy, came to visit with her sweet family back in November.  It was so great seeing them!  We went to dinner the first night in Apex.  None of have photos because our kids had our phones.  We were in a private room which was GREAT!  But, the adults needed some extra time to hang out after dinner so we passed our "babysitters" to our kids.  I hate we didn't get any photos of the kiddos together.  Next time!!

On Saturday, Richard and I went to hang out with Betsy, Carter and their VA Tech friends at their tailgate.  They were playing at Duke....just few minutes down the road.  Betsy was being supportive of her hubby's team.  VA Tech shirt?  Really?  I bet she was wearing Clemson on December 3 though!  

White we were tailgating with VA Tech Hokies, Kamdyn was cheering for the Wolfpack.  She went with her friend Lauren to the NC State/FL State game.  She had a great time, but it was a late night for her!

We love football and our friends!! 

Onsite Field Trip in 5th Grade

I jumped in at the tail end of this on site field trip at Kamdyn's school.  I was at substitute teacher orientation in the morning and joined Kamdyn's class in the afternoon.  These kids had a great time going back in time.  They created necklaces using beads and real pieces of leather from animals.  They wrote with quills and ink.  They dresses up in cute dresses.  At the end, I convinced them to take a class photo.  They had to dab in one of them!  Silly kiddos!
