Karcie's Preschool Thanksgiving Feast

Richard and I were both able to attend Karcie's last Preschool Thanksgiving Feast.  It's still so hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that she will be in Kindergarten in a BIG school next year.  My heart is so sad!  She's growing too quickly!!

We had such a good time watching her interact with her classmates.  She was proud as punch to have us there...especially her Daddy!  When giving thanks, she is one of the things that is at the top of our list!  We love you, Karcie-girl, and we are so thankful for the blessing that you are to our family!!

Karcie's Last Day of 3K

Karcie had a wonderful year in 3K.  Ms. Jennifer and Ms. Jerry were perfect for her.  I love that they taught her about Jesus every single day that she was there.  My heart was full when she came home singing the songs that she had learned in Chapel.  I don't know where this year has gone.  She will be going to school everyday next year from 9:00-12:00.  She's already asking me who her teacher will be and where her classroom will be.  Thanks to Apex Baptist Church Preschool for being so great!

Karcie's School Birthday Celebration

Since school would be out a week before Karcie's birthday, Ms. Jennifer and Ms. Jerry allowed Karcie to celebrate her birthday the last week of school.  She was having a Strawberry Shortcake Birthday Party so she wanted her school cake to be Strawberry Shortcake, too.  She designed this herself at WalMart. She told me the exact colors that she wanted and where she wanted them on the cake.  She decided she wanted a #4 cupcake cake, too.  I love my decisive, speak-your-mind girl!

She was proud as could be when we walked in with her cake.  Hip Hip Hooray for turning 4.  It's my favorite age!!

Look what she can do!

She's been writing her name for quite some time now and we are still working on letter recognition, but this is what I found the other day.  She dug out all of the letters in her name and put them in a row.  I was so proud and so was she!!

Valentine's Day at Preschool

Karcie missed Valentine's Day at her Preschool last year.  So she was super excited about it this year!!

We made some "BEARY" cute Valentine's for her classmates.  She put the teddy grahams in the bags with Kamdyn's assistance.  Then, she wrote her name 16 TIMES!!  You can imagine how much patience and time that took.  I was proud of her though.  She did it!!  All 16 times.  By herself!

She was tickled to share all of her Valentine's cards and candy with us when she got home.  She went through her bag and told us what everyone gave her.  Jacob brought her a special Frozen Valentine.  That was so sweet of him!!

I love this precious smile!!

This was how many photos I had to take to get ONE!!  ;)

Karcie's Preschool Program

Karcie's Preschool has been so great for her!  They sang precious Christmas songs and learned all about Jesus, The TRUE Reason for the Season.  It made my heart happy to hear all of those sweet voices singing, Happy Birthday, Jesus!  Our girl sang her heart out!!

Karcie was an angel in the show.  She kept telling us that she was a Gingerbread and that all of her other friends were angels.  Should have known.....that was a TALL TALE!! Karcie is good at making up some stories.  :)  She keeps us laughing and on our toes!

We checked Kamdyn out of school for a little while so that she could watch Karcie.  We were happy that Nanny was in town to join us for Karcie's show, too!!

Wearing her precious Christmas dress and a BIG smile!!

She is in the very top right corner!!  Wearing her halo!  Maybe she was surprised that they would put that little halo on her head.  ;)  Noooooo, she's really is a precious little angel!!
Our sweet angel!!

These two drive each other crazy at times, but I have never seen a prouder BIG SISTER as Kamdyn.  When Karcie came out on the stage, Kamdyn kept saying, "Aw!!  She looks so cute!"  She loves her baby sister!

Karcie's Thanksgiving Feast

Karcie's Thanksgiving Feast was today.  I love seeing her interact with her teachers and friends. The parents were all in the room when the children got back from Chapel.  They were instructed to sit in their cubbies while Ms. Jennifer gave us directions.  They stood up and said The Pledge to the Flag, The Pledge to the Bible, and their Bible verse.  It was so sweet! I have videos of the three.  My girl was so happy to see me when she walked into the room.

We enjoyed some delicious sandwiches, snacks, and desserts.  Each family helped their children make a snowman ornament to help decorate the trees in downtown Apex.  I'm so glad that I get to spend these moments with my Karcie.  I missed so much of this when Kamdyn was little.  Thank goodness Georgia was there to pick up the slack which I was working!  Now that I think of it, Karcie probably would have rather Georgia be at school today instead of me.  My girls sure do love their Georgia!

Pledge of Allegiance with BOTH hands over her heart!  Bless!

Turkey hand prints that she continues to call chickens!  Bless it!

3K Fall Photos

This little stinker took some pretty sweet photos this year in 3K.  I could not decide which ones to order.  I always order at least the cheapest package each year so that I can remember these sweet little babies each school year.  I decided on Photo #1 even though Photo #2 shows a bit more of her mischievous personality!

Our Karcie Girl

We continue to be amazed at how wel Karcie is doing at school.  She absolutely loves going to school.  She comes home everyday telling us all about it.  Somedays she tells us things that are "tall tales."  One day she told me that she was the line leader.  I knew this was a fib because we have a calendar that tells us the day that our child is the helper.  However, I indulged her and allowed her to keep telling her story.  When she was finished she said, "But don't tell Ms. Jennifer, okay?"  In other words, this story may not be true so don't ask Ms. Jennifer about it.  ;)

They made this  cute little book below that contained several more pages.  I took pics of my favorites.  I love the bio.  I have no idea what apple casserole is and we certainly don't have a dog.  When we asked her about her dog, she told us that her dog lived in our backyard in the garden.  This girl cracks us up!!

The last photo is a note from one of her teachers.  It made me cry!!  Karcie is the sweetest little thing, but she makes me want to pull my hair out sometimes.  It thrills my soul to know that she is behaving at school.  It's nice to know that what we teach her every single day at home is sinking in that hard head and is being applied at school.  She is such a strong willed child.  I know it will serve her well one day, but it certainly tries our patience at times.

We love our Karcie girl so very much and are so thankful that God chose us to care for her.  She teaches us so much about unconditional love and patience.  She loves with all of her heart and is wide open with everything that she does.  We can't wait to see how she changes and grows.  It's so hard to believe that she will be four in only six months.

Karcie and SCISSORS?!?!?!?

Karcie came home the other day from school with a cut-out construction paper square.  As she showed it to me, she told me in a very matter-of-fact tone, "Mommy, Mrs. Jennifer let me cut with scissors.  I told her that you don't LET me cut with scissors.  She told me to tell YOU to LET ME cut with scissors at home!"  Uh huh!  Is that right, Karcie?

It's true.  I've been hesitant to give Karcie scissors.  Who knows what she will cut?  I shutter to think about it.  But she HAS to learn some how.  SOOOO, we went over scissor safety rules.  I told her that she is to ONLY cut paper.  She may ONLY use the scissors at the bar.  And, she can ONLY use the scissors if I'm watching.  She actually does very well cutting.  Her fine motor skills are pretty accurate for a child of her age. She's even a lefty!  Now if I could just get her to learn those doggone ABC's!! GRRR!!

Karcie's Friends

One day after school Karcie and I met two of her friends and their sweet Moms at Chick-fil-A.  I tried my best to get a photo of all three of them, but it just wasn't happening.  We met these two precious girls at a dance class at Apex Community Center last year.  They are now going to preschool together at Apex Baptist.  Karcie and Jillian are in the same class.  We were sad that Logan didn't get in their class, too.  :(  I hope these girls stay friends for a long time.  Logan's Mom just had another little girl and Jillian's Mom is due in April with their second baby.  Let's just say that I feel OLD around them.  ;)  We are so thankful for the many sweet friends and relationships that we have made in Apex in our short 1.5 years here.

2nd Day of 3K!

When I picked Karcie up from school on her second day, her teaching assistant said, "She is so precious!"  First, I looked around to be sure that she was talking to me.  Then, I politely told her, "Thank you!"  I am so happy that she is doing well with listening and following directions so far.  I hope that doesn't change.  She is my feisty one and has a mind and opinions of her own.  I hope she continues to save that mind and opinions for her family at home!!

How precious is she???
