Kamdyn was so pitiful last night. I didn't know what to do to make her feel better and I felt so helpless. Her fever continued despite the Tylenol. All she wanted to do was lay down and sleep. Around 11:00pm I checked on her and she was in a sweat filled bed. I breathed a sigh of relief because I knew that my sweet baby's fever had "broke." I checked her temp and it was 98.6 exactly. I gave her a little apple juice and she slept until 7:30 this morning without a peep all night. I was also able to get some rest knowing that her fever was gone!
Today, she is still a little irritable and is not feeling 100%; however, she is fever free and that has made a big difference in her. She is actually talking, singing, and playing much more today. I've enjoyed being home with her and taking care of my sweet baby girl! Thanks for all of the well wishes. I think I needed them more than she did! Actually, I think I just needed a nerve pill! ;)
Tomorrow, I'll be back to work and she'll be back at Georgia's!

My Poor Sweet Angel
As mentioned this weekend, Kamdyn was running a low grade fever. She has had this low grade fever on and off for 4 days. I called the doctor's office yesterday. The nurse said that since she didn't have any other symptoms aside from being tired and "not herself" to just give her a little Tylenol and watch her. Well, that's what I had been doing, still figuring she was teething. Keep in mind that Kamdyn has NEVER been sick aside from a little runny nose and a few coughs. No infections or anything major. Today Georgia called to tell me that Kamdyn's temp went to 101.5 and she had a rash on her abdomen, moving up her neck and to her face. PANIC!!! I immediately called the doctor and got an appt.
We couldn't see our "regular" pediatrician, but another doctor checked Kamdyn out from head to toe. He said, "I can't believe she hasn't been screaming about her ear. She has a really bad ear infection." I wanted to HIT the floor. I should have listened to my Mommy "instinct." As verbal as she is (which he commented on), she never once said, "My ear hurts." Georgia said she only started pulling on her ear and slightly complaining today. I felt so guilty! He went on to say that she probably started off with a viral infection which is most probably the cause of the rash and that the ear infection just really "hit" her today. He asks if she is allergic to any meds. I say, "Not that we know of.......she's NEVER taken an antibiotic before." He looked at me as if I were an alien, but it is true.
We go to Food Lion to pick up the antibiotic. I attempt to give it to her as soon as I got home. I remember LOVING the pink bubble gum medicine as a child. I start giving her a teaspoon of it a little at a time and she starts throwing up EVERYWHERE. Apparently the thickness of it gagged her and that was IT! Nope, never thrown up before either. Oh, did I mention that Richard is out of town????? I was going in to a PANIC and so was she. She had no idea what was coming out of her mouth. I get her cleaned up, the dishwasher, the floor, her clothes off and put her in the bathtub. Then, we try round 2 with the medicine. This time I decided to try the eye dropper. Kamdyn looks at me when I tell her we have to try the medicine again and says, "I don't have to!" Oh boy, I thought!!!! Where is RICHARD???? So, I put her on the counter and explain to her that she must take it in order to feel better. Thankfully, she slowly but surely takes it and keeps it down!
Now I know why Kamdyn has hardly ever been sick. My nerves can't withstand it! I truly stood back and thought about how minor Kamdyn's sickness is compared with some of my "Mommy friends" who have been through SO much with their sweet precious babies from losing a child to cancer, watching a 2 week old/2 month old have surgery, worrying if their child had Cystic Fibrosis, giving their child breathing treatments, etc., etc. These thoughts made me take a deep breath and get myself together. I realized how silly I was being to for stressing SO badly! But, I am telling you truthfully, I don't know how you mommies do it and have done it. I know God gives us an inner strength that we sometimes only find in tough situations, but I'm telling you, I really have a new appreciation and respect for all of you. You are my HEROES!!! Love and extra prayers to you ALL!!!

Peanut Butter and Toes DON'T MIX!
I know you are expecting to see an adorable funny picture of Kamdyn with her toes summerged in a jar of peanut butter! Sorry to disappoint you. This is a traumatic story that happened to me last night that effected Kamdyn somewhat.
I was trying to get ahead with my typical "school night" schedule by making my lunch early. WRONG!!! I should have known not to deviate from "THE SCHEDULE!!" :) After making my sandwich, I was attempting to get a Ziplock bag out of the pantry to put my sandwich in. My elbow accidentally hit a stack of Solo cups which caused an avalanche in my pantry. Thank God Kamdyn was not standing in front of me nosing around in the pantry the way that she normally does. She was standing beside me instead. The avalanche caused me to high step around, but apparently my high stepping wasn't enough. Suddenly I felt the most excruciating pain I have ever felt on my toe. I look down and a full plastic jar of peanut butter from the TOP SHELF had fallen on my foot. Plastic, you say???? Yes, a plastic jar, that felt like a bowling ball. I am convinced had it been a can that it would have cut my entire toe off. I hit the floor grabbing my foot and Kamdyn immediately starts screaming (I wanted to scream/cry like a baby) to the top of her lungs while saying, "Are you otay, Mommy? Mommy, it's otay." Then, she runs to solicit help from her Daddy in the other room. He, of course, doesn't move and thinks we are both overreacting, as we sometimes do (we're girls!)! He finally comes to look and realizes that mine and Kamdyn's screams were justified. "OUCH" and "How did that happen," he says.
I take my sock off to reveal a slice of my toe completely taken off as well as a toe the size and color of a plum. I run to the bathtub to put Peroxide on it and then it starts gushing blood. YUCK!! I've never had a broken toe, but this is what I would imagine it to feel like. I taped my hurt toe to my pinky toe and I put tennis shoes on this morning thinking it would feel okay. HUH! Not so....you don't realize how much you need ALL of your toes in order to walk normally. How crazy I looked as I walked in to school today.
I will spare you a gory picture because I know you get the point. I did send a pic to my Mom though. :)
The moral of the story for me ........STICK TO YOUR SCHEDULE!

Welcome Home, Daddy!
As stated previously, Richard was in London all week. We certainly missed him! I'm not good at this "single" Mom thing. The extra set of hands are much needed and appreciated! After flying 9 hours from London to Charlotte, he then had to drive almost 2 hours home. Poor, Daddy! We sure missed you! Here is Kamdyn running to him as soon as he got home. Without any prompting, Kamdyn said, "I love you, Daddy. I missed you, Daddy. I don't want you go to airport anymore." How precious!!! I'm not sure which one of them missed the other more...... Oh, did I mention, he leaves again on Monday??? UGH!!! He's only going to be in town for one week in February, Valentine's Week. Please pray for me!! :)

My "Camo" Kammie
I couldn't resist taking her picture in this outfit today. She is growing so tall that this outfit will probably be "retired" after today. Check out that cute 'lil belly! You would never believe that only a few short hours later that Kamdyn had a 100.6 temp. She's only had TWO "real" fevers in her life! Can you believe it? I guess she is cutting her 2 year old molars because she doesn't have any other symptoms. A little Tylenol and she'll be as good as new in a few hours!!
"toothless" grin
We 'gotta show off a little!
And, show off some more!
Let's put our hands in our pockets! This
cracks me up!
Finally, THE BIG CHEESE!!!

Happy "Early" Valentine's Day
Nanny and Pop Pop came to visit Kamdyn and me Friday night to keep us company since Daddy wouldn't be home from London until Saturday night. Nanny and Pop Pop brought Kamdyn and me our Valentine's gifts early since they would not see us again until after Valentine's Day. Kamdyn LOVES her new Barney movie. We've already watched it about 10 times since last night. She wasn't too sure about her bag full of Spring clothes though. She kept pulling clothes out of the bag searching for the TOYS! Thanks, Nanny and Pop Pop! We had a great time!

"Hollywood"
Not to be confused with our friend, Hollywood; however, everytime Kamdyn puts on sunglasses she says, "HOLLYWOOD!" Look at these "old school" glasses!

Fun at Nanny's House
To say that Kamdyn was OVER STIMULATED at Nanny's house would be an under statement. I don't know what I am going to do with her when we get home. Richard will be in London for work and it's going to take at least a week for me to get her used to not being entertained EVERY waking moment. Kamdyn got her fingernails painted. She played with makeup. She painted. She played dressup, etc. ,etc., etc............needless to say, she had more than FUN!
Playing Dress Up
She LOVED the hat!
Cleaning all of the makeup off of her hands!
Painting her fingernails Pinkalicious Pink
Blowing her fingers dry.
Pinkalicious Fingernails! She LOVES them!!
How will I ever get her to let me take it off????
Watercolor Painting. She kept mixing the colors
so the picture was only painted with brown and black.
How sweet!
Taking over Pop Pop's chair.
She kept saying, "This is my chair, not Pop Pop's."
