WOW!

Look how long my hair has gotten! It seems just like yesterday that I was looking at my beautiful, blue eyed, bald headed little girl. I can't believe how long her hair has gotten in just a few short months!

Tick Tock

I saw for the first time last year, on many of my fellow blogger's sites, The Elf on the Shelf, which I thought was the cutest idea EVER! Ruthie so graciously purchased one for Kamdyn this year which came equipped with a book to explain along with a cute little Elf. We quickly read the rules in the book and Kamdyn named her Elf, Tick Tock. Not sure where that came from, but he is Tick Tock!

Tick Tock watches Kamdyn to make sure that she behaves everyday. For the most part she does behave, but has to be reminded that the Elf is watching her. The Elf can be found in a new location every morning. This proves to be a difficult task for Mommy to remember EVERY night. On two occasions I have forgotten and I have had to distract Kamdyn to reposition the Elf. Leave it to me to mess up the rules!!

Thanks, Ruthie, for our brand new tradition! We LOVE Tick Tock!! If you have children I recommend The Elf on the Shelf.

Time Out

Georgia has been keeping two other children the past two weeks. They are her nieces two children. She is keeping them temporarily. They are precious children and have had a rough couple of year; however, one of them has to visit time out quite often because he is still adjusting to having a routine and rules. Kamdyn, being the observant child that she is, has decided that she wants to partake in some time out action......

Let me explain!

Georgia couldn't get Kamdyn to come to her as she was attempting to get ALL four children in the car the other day. No big deal at first. She would just get the other three in first and then get Kamdyn. Kamdyn, jokingly, still kept running away from her. Georgia said to Kamdyn, thinking this would get her attention, "Ok, Kamdyn, you're going to have to sit in time out when we get to the park for three minutes if you don't come." Our little stinker looked her straight in the face and said, "I like time out!" Yep, that's what she said. So, she enjoyed herself three minutes of time out while the other children played. Georgia said it didn't phase her a bit. OH MY!! What will I ever do with her???

In her defense, she has never really heard the term "time out" until now. If she cries a lot for no reason we will occasionally tell her to go to her room until she is finished crying. She will and only stays for about two minutes. Overall, she is a really well behaved child! I guess I just need to reinforce the fact that "time out" is not a good thing!!

Disney on Ice

The grown-up fun didn't last too long! Today we were back to being kids again!

Denise, Ana Blake, Kamdyn, and I went to Disney on Ice this afternoon! We had such a great time and had wonderful seats! Kamdyn wore her Tinkerbell costume and looked so adorable. I don't think she had a clue as to what to expect. Her face was priceless when the characters first came out on the ice; however, when the Lion King monkeys came out she started crying and saying that she wanted to go home. I quickly calmed her once she realized that they were going to stay on the ice. When the show was over she adamantly said, "I don't want to go home! I want to stay here!" I even got that Tinkerbell pout! I promised her that we would come back again when Disney on Ice returned to Augusta. We'll see how long that pacifies her before she starts demanding and commanding to go back! Gotta love those strong willed, independent girls!!

"Grown-Up" Christmas Party

Well, sort of grown-up.........

Richard's engineering group at work had a Christmas Party last night. Nanny was gracious enough to drive down to keep Kamdyn for the night. We had a great time! We ate, played Mean Santa, and LOVED Rock Band. We played it for hours and loved it!

Nope, we're not getting a Wii anytime soon at this house because it would take up WAY too much time. Time that I already do not have! I told Richard that he could have one as soon as Kamdyn was old enough to play with him.

I sang most of the night! No surprise! It's one of my most favorite things to do even if I'm not exactly a pro!

Counting Down the Days......

Nanny bought Kamdyn this beautiful Advent house. Each night she opens a numbered door to count down the days until Christmas. Actually, we started with #1 because it's much easier for her! Much to her Daddy's dismay, Kamdyn's favorite part is getting to eat a Hershey's Kiss that lies behind the door. He's not big on her having too many sweets! At any rate, Kamdyn gets to hear a different Christmas song each night as she opens a new door. She's even getting some good practice with number recognition. She can already recognize 1-10, but now she will be able to learn some of those double digit numbers, too! Thanks, Nanny, for giving us a new Christmas Tradition.

Carefully opening her Hershey's Kiss! She DID NOT want to drop it!!! She was afraid that she would have to throw it away! Have I mentioned how much she loves sweets? It's so rare because her Daddy and I aren't big sweet eaters!

"Aunt" Holly

Well, it's official!! (In case you didn't already know!) Matthew and Holly are engaged and we couldn't be happier to have Holly in our family. She and Matthew are perfect for each other. She is so easy going and fun! I am proud to call her sister and Kamdyn loves calling her Aunt. We've already been practicing with her and she is already mastering the new tag, Aunt Holly!

They are planning a wedding in Atlanta for July 11, 2009. It will be a family affair! Richard will be best man. I will be a bridesmaid. Kamdyn will be the cutest flower girl EVER!!! :) Yep, I'm a bit partial, but I can't wait to see my baby girl walk down the aisle with her rose petals! (Hopefully, she will cooperate and not have one of her strong willed moments!)

Thanksgiving Brunch

We weren't all able to get together on Thansgiving Day. Holly and Matthew spent the day with her family in Charlotte. So, we had a tasty brunch on the Sunday after Thanksgiving at Aunt Kathy and Uncle Jim's house. Everything was delicious and we had such a great time!

Uncle Jim gave Kamdyn this crazy ball, as I call it! Seriously, it makes the most annoying laugh that you've ever heard and then shakes all over the place. I tried getting Kamdyn to take it to Georgia's, but Georgia sent it back home with her! :) To say that Kamdyn likes to aggravate, would be an understatement. The ball now sleeps in the car! Thanks, Uncle Jim!!
