I thought for sure that I had at least another year before hearing this NEVER ENDING question. Oh, how wrong I was! As of the past couple of weeks, Kamdyn has started asking "why" with everything asked of her, told to her, etc. Today was one of those days at work. The 4-year-olds were really getting the best of me. Then, I came home to my strong willed child who seemed to be even stronger willed today! If I said one thing, she did another. Not only did she do the opposite, but she asked, "Why?" If I answered the question, she would then say, "But why?" in her shrillest voice. My patience left me around noon today. Sadly, the why questions and her whining/crying were getting the best of me. With Richard out-of-town, I did what I had to do to rid myself of my stresses and went to Jazzercise. The lady she stays with at Jazzercise said that Kamdyn did great! HMMM.....I think she saves all of her frustrations for me. Who knows? As for the why questions, the frustrated Mommy in me wants to say, "BECAUSE I SAID SO!!!!!!!!" The teacher in me and the "good" Mommy knows that I should stay calm, but firm and answer her questions as logically as possible. I will pray about it tonight and all will be better tomorrow!

Dinner with Dalton and Mrs. Denise
Tonight, Mrs. Denise asked Kamdyn and me to meet her after picking Dalton up from his after school activity. His school is in downtown Augusta and since we live right across the bridge now, we accepted her invitation. We went to Mellow Mushroom and had such a great time! Dalton entertained Kamdyn the entire time while Denise and I got to visit. These are not such great pics of Kamdyn b/c the flash on a digital camera has WAY too much of a delay. She only poses for a split second; however, Dalton is such a cutie and has to be the sweetest teenager that I know. Kamdyn entertained Dalton by singing all of her songs: Apple Bottom Jeans, Sugar Pie Honey Bunch, Jesus Loves Me, etc., etc., etc. Dalton asked Mrs. Denise, "Mama, was I that smart when I was 2?" She said, "Yes!" But then, jokingly said, "I only had to take you to LD (learning disabled) classes!" We all know that is a complete joke! Dalton participates is ALL extracurricular activities, while make wonderful grades AND taking AP courses. We enjoyed it, Dalton and Denise, and can't wait to go again!!

Fun with Nanny
We were in the Upstate this weekend for a wedding reception for a friend of Richard's who got married a couple of weeks ago. We visited Mama Lucy on Saturday morning, who had Aunt Gayle and Uncle Ron visiting her. Kamdyn had not seen them in quite a while. It was very nice to spend time with ALL of them.
Then, we were off to Nanny and Pop Pop's. Kamdyn had fallen asleep in the car on our way. I desperately tried to move her from the car to her bed at Nanny's, but my efforts failed! She WAS NOT having a nap once she realized where she was! Nanny rescued her!
Kamdyn spent the rest of the afternoon having lots of fun with Nanny. They painted with watercolors. Kamdyn got to paint her face with makeup and Nanny painted her fingernails. She was also introduced to playdough for the first time. She had such a great time!!!

Nanny bought Kamdyn these princess bedroom slippers a while back. Kamdyn finally grew in to them and HAD to put them on. Don't you love Kamdyn's smock? It's an old pajama top of mine. We had to be sure to protect her clothes! :)

Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch
I am constantly calling Kamdyn my Sugar Pie, my Sweetie Pie, ......... you get the point. When I call her Sugar Pie, I always sing this song. She surprised me the other day when she started singing it by herself. She is a little sponge and remembers EVERYTHING!!! Watch out American Idol!! :)

Wildlife on the River
Okay, I am coming to grips with the fact that living on the River also means getting closer to nature and the wildlife. We have already captured a caterpillar. Bees are everywhere. I already have two mosquito bites on my ankes and it's just April. Last night, we were leaving the neighborhood on the way to Jazzercise and a deer was on the side of the road in our neighborhood. We stopped and it was practically face to face with Kamdyn in the back car window. They stared each other down for at least a minute before it ran off. This is a picture of a HUGE bird that we caught sitting on our dock the other day when we were on our way back from a boat ride. As long as I don't see a snake anytime soon (well, never would be great!), I will be fine!

Flip Flops
I finally bought Kamdyn a pair of flip flops tonight at Target. We needed something easy that she could slide on her feet by herself since we are in and out now with our new outdoor spaces. They look so cute on her feet, but she is having a hard time walking in them. I think having them between her toes will take some getting used to.

Nanny's Cat, PUGS!
This is Kamdyn talking about Nanny's cat, Pugs. You hear her talking about Pop Pop picking up the cat and how she can pick the cat up when she "gets muscles." :) I am not surprised anymore with what comes out of her mouth!! She cracks me up! I was actually trying to capture some video of her cooking, but that was not what she wanted to do/discuss at the moment. So, I figured I would post some good 'ole "conversation" with her. She got the Princess Patio Set for her birthday from Ms. Suzanne. She LOVES it! I figured that we would put it in the playroom until we get a "real" table and chairs.

Pinkalicious Party!
Kamdyn had such a great party even if it was 2 weeks late! Thank you to all of you who were able to celebrate with us. This is such a hectic time for so many. We missed those of you who couldn't come, but we certainly understand. The many pictures describe it ALL! Aside from the rainy, windy weather (I had to tie the table cloths to the tables so they wouldn't blow away) and not being able to go on at boat ride, the day was a success!
Kamdyn posing before her guests arrived!
A rare Mommy and Kamdyn photo! I put Daddy
in charge of the camera today! :)
Kamdyn smelling the fake tulips. She loved them!
Apparently she was smelling something that the rest
of us were missing because she WOULD NOT put them down.
Nanny and Kamdyn
Pop Pop and Kamdyn
Two rare family pictures, too!
Sweet Ana Blake with Kamdyn! Ana Blake entertained
Kamdyn and MacKenna the entire time. Ana Blake is going to be a great babysitter for us really soon! We love you, Ana Blake!
Two of Kamdyn's most favorite people - Georgia and Nanny! And, she had them both in the same place! She didn't know what to do!!! She was in complete "heaven."
Ms. Denise and Ana Blake with Kamdyn
The pinkalicious table! We also had "pink"
hot dogs and pasta salad. Today was apparently
National Hot Dog Day! Who knew???
Having a tea party with MacKenna and Ana Blake.
Opening her many gifts! She got so many nice
things. Thank you so much to all of you!!
She is still not so fast with opening gifts. MacKenna
and I had to help her quite a bit. She got distracted
rather easily!
This is her precious singing bear from Mama Lucy
and Ruthie. The entire room teared up when we
heard it sing, "I Hope You Dance." I couldn't help
but think of my sweet baby girl and how fast she
is growing up as I listened to this wonderful song!
Daddy last night at midnight putting together
Kamdyn's new kitchen! This is one of many
toys that I am sure he will have to put together!
Kamdyn LOVES her kitchen!
Thanks, Nanny and Pop Pop!!!
Hopefully we'll soon find her a table and chairs
set that we like so she can have a real tea party !
She is really good at blowing out the candles. Who
cares if she starts blowing as soon as we start singing
Happy Birthday and is still blowing when the song is over? She was determined to blow them out ALL by herself!
She LOVED her pink cupcake loaded with pink
icing! She will ONLY eat the icing!!
Her fingers were stained pink after this!
We teased her and told her that she was
turning pink like Pinkalicious in the
book! She thought that was hilarious!!!
At the end of the party she kind of "cut loose."
Her button came undone so she decided to
show out a bit!
Where's Kamdyn? Peek-a-Boo!
Daddy with Aunt Kathy and Uncle Jim
She was so tired by the end that she could
barely stand up. She missed her nap!
Mama Lucy tried to sing her to sleep, but
it didn't work.
She finally fell asleep in Richard's lap around 6:00.
I had to wake her up to give her a bath. I put her to
bed right after her bath and she went right to sleep!
What a busy, but wonderful day she had!!
