Princess Dance Camp

Karcie and Campbell enjoyed at week at Princess Dance Camp from 10:00-12:00 each day.  They dressed up as a different princess every day and they did a different princess themed dance each day.  They seemed to have a fun time.  The last day the parents go to come watch.  They had refreshments and Cinderella came to visit, too!

Sweet friends!

If we ain't at the lake, Daddy ain't happy!

We spend every available weekend in the summer at the lake.  Thankfully, we all love it, but Richard can't really live without it.  He loves to fish.  He gets up early, early to catch his bait.  He is so dedicated to his little hobby.  But, he's pretty much "all in" with most everything that he does.  I'm glad we have this getaway to decompress from the rest of the world so that we get quality family time with just the four of us.

White Daddy was fishing, the wild child was doing this!!  She is cray cray!

This was the weekend of the Beach Music Party.  They had jumpy houses, face painting, BBQ, etc.  Karcie wanted to check it out.  Truthfully, Kamdyn did, too.  Kamdyn didn't want to get to the bank and be wet in her swimsuit walking around.  I don't know who she gets that mess from?  Ha! (nah, I do know where she gets it from!)  Karcie didn't care though.  She was ready to swim to that bank and check out that bouncy house and get her face painted.  Off she and Richard went.  Kamdyn and I stayed with the anchored boat....praying that the anchor didn't come a loose.

Richard swam back in the tube with his wallet, shoes, cup, and Karcie's balloon.  Kamdyn was disappointed that she didn't go.  We pulled next to the dock and Kamdyn and I walked over with our coverups on like civilized people.  She got to jump in the bouncy house, but almost everything else was closing down.  We loved listening to the music and watching the crazy boat people trying to get their anchors to stick and watching the crazies let their boats hit up against the bank.  That was tearing Richard up!

Another gorgeous sunset.  One of my favorite parts about the lake!

Naps are better on the boat!

Hip Hip Hooray! It's the Last Day of 4th Grade!

It really was a bitter sweet day for Kamdyn.  She was ready for summer, but she was sad that this was her last school year with Sydney.  She came home that afternoon and was a little teary eyed.  She and Sydney have been close since we moved to Apex and have been in each other's class every year.  It will be different for both of them, but Sydney moving away won't keep them from being friends.  Kamdyn has already had a sleepover and Syd's new house.  Sweet friends forever!  We will miss our carpool buddy and the beginning and end of year picture with Sydney, too.  So hard to  believe that they will be in 5th grade!

Kamdyn's End of Year Poetry Cafe

Kamdyn's class had a Poetry Cafe End of Year Celebration!  They chose a poem from their poetry notebooks to read to the audience.  They all did such a great job in front of a very close and crowded audience.

I can't believe that 4th grade is over and there is only ONE YEAR LEFT for my girl!  Man, time just goes in a whirlwind.  She had a great first year at Scott's Ridge.  We are looking forward to her 5th grade year and we are crossing our fingers for a certain 5th grade teacher.

Kamdyn Lucy, I hope you will always love learning and will continue to want to excel in everything that you do.  Your work ethic and perseverance are admirable!  I hope you start to realize that being perfect isn't always the best way and making mistakes, even little ones, are how we learn.  You are already moving mountains.  You have so much to look forward to.  I hope this old world never hardens your sweet and tender heart.  You are simply amazing just the way that God made you!

5th Grade...HERE WE COME!!

I love this photo!  They really do love each other!

We are going to miss Mrs. Nowak next year!
