Story Time at the Library!

Karcie and I go to story time at the library on Monday afternoons.  After story time, Karcie gets to check out several books for us to read at bedtime each night.  Kamdyn was thrilled to join us for Preschool story time.  Well, not really thrilled, but she was happy to get to check out a few books for herself.

Karcie's favorite school friend, Jacob, walked in to story time just before it started.  Karcie was about to jump out of her skin.  She loves this kid and was so excited to see him there!  He came right up to the front and sat with her.  You couldn't wipe the smile off of her face.  So cute!!

The listened to stories, sang songs, danced, and watched a puppet show.  It's a great program!!  I wish this could be MY job!!  It's all of the fun things that I loved about teaching preschool.

Sitting so sweetly beside Jacob.

Look how big Karcie looks.  Makes me so incredibly sad!!

Lucca's Birthday Party

One of our neighbors and Karcie's sweet friend, Lucca, turned three a few weeks ago.  She invited Karcie to her Dora party.  Karcie loves Dora so she was super excited!!  Kamdyn had basketball that morning and then we went straight to Lucca's party.  They colored, played pin the map on Dora, had delicious snacks, and got to "bust" a pinata!  Karcie won a prize for getting her map the closet on Pin the Map on Dora.  I think she cheated because it was almost perfectly placed.  She said, "I could see a little bit, Mommy!"  It was a fun little neighborhood birthday party!  Happy Birthday, Lucca!

Can you see, Karcie?

Defy Gravity

On the 2nd day of track out, we took the kiddos to Defy Gravity.  We had a super time.  They had added several new things including an obstacle course.  It was super fun!  I even tried a few things.  We jumped away for an hour.  The kids were exhausted!

We stopped for lunch at McDonald's on our way home.  We had such a great day with our fun neighbors!!

Happy Track Out

Kamdyn tracked out the last week of January.  This is our least favorite time of the year to be out of school.....it's cold and there's not much you can do.  Luckily, it's also our shortest break so we were able to make the best of it!!

The girls were forced to go grocery shopping with me at Wal-Mart on the very first day out.  :(  They were such troopers that I got them both a doughnut when we were finished!!

The enjoyed every single bite.  Didn't even leave a taste for me!

The Doc is In!!

Doc McStuffins appeared out of nowhere while I was working on "The Smocked Shop" stuff the other day.  I have to say.....she's a pretty cute Doc McStuffins!  I stopped what I was doing because she said, "Mommy, you have to be my patient.!"  And who could say no to this precious little face?  She  couldn't wait to give me a big ole' shot in my arm!!  Ouch!!

Best Big Sister!!

As if there were any doubt.....
Kamdyn truly is a wonderful big sister.  Yes, she gets frustrated with Karcie daily.  But she is almost always so sweet and patient with her.  While Richard and I were cooking dinner last Saturday night, Kamdyn and Karcie were cutting, pasting, and creating.  All of a sudden, I looked over and there was a Preschool lesson going on.  Kamdyn is WAY more patient with Karcie than I am when it comes to educational activities.  Karcie likes to "put on a show" for me and pretend that she knows nothing.  For whatever reason, she loves to impress Kamdyn with all that she knows.  She actually knows a lot more than she lets on.

I love these precious moments with my sweet girls who will always be my babies!

Coaching 'Em Up!

Now that Richard is working back in RTP, he is able to help coach Kamdyn's basketball team and he really is enjoying it!  Our girls have come a LONG way since our first game.  I'm even getting a little coaching time in, too.  Coach Chad and Coach Richard had to be out on the same night or practice.  SOOOOOO, that left ME to coach!!  All went well, but it's kind of like being a substitute teacher.  They listen to the "real" coaches a lot better than they did me.  It was fun though and it's something that I've kind of always wanted to do.  I told Richard that he and I should both coach Kamdyn's team next year.  Sounds fun to me!!

Girl Scout Cookies

This family loves some GS cookies.  Who doesn't?  Sydney keeps us stocked with girl scout cookies each year.  I have a question though.  Why do they start selling these suckers right after New Year's?  Don't they know that most EVERYONE made resolutions that almost always involve eating healthier?!?!  UGH!! Needless to say, my healthy eating ended on this night.  It was fun while it lasted!

Our sugar of choice this year included four boxes of yumminess......Peanut Butter Patties, Peanut Butter Sandwiches, Caramel Delights, and Lemonades.  The day after we got our cookies, I was getting ready to take out the trash.  I noticed this almost WHOLE Caramel Delight in the trash can!!  WHAT?  Who does that????  There was only one person in our household who would EVER throw away a GS cookie and it's because she clearly didn't know any better.  You can't be wasting these things!!  I was tempted to eat it out of the trash can.  It was sitting on a paper plate and beer bottle in the top of the trash can.  How yucky could it be?

Betsy, ask Carter what he would have done with that Samoa?
