Neighborhood Driveway Parties

This has been a trend this Spring and Summer. When several families have no plans on a Friday/Saturday night, we hang out in the driveway and let the kids play.  This particular night there were several families who joined us so we ordered pizza, had some grown-up time, and the kids enjoyed time with their friends. The kids run all over in between yards. We really do love this neighborhood.  There are plenty of people that are our age that we enjoy hanging out with and there are enough kids for a small city that our kids enjoying playing with.  It's a win-win for our family!

The view from the driveway.

Karcie was using pliers to work in Mr. Brian while he was trying to enjoy his pizza dinner.  I think Karcie secretly wishes that her last name was Kirk.  ;)

Karcie, Campbell, and Kamdyn were playing Mommy and Baby on our front porch.  Kamdyn was sitting in the front of the car, driving her babies some place.  Truthfully, Kamdyn is like the babysitter of these two on these driveway party nights. I'm not sure if Kamdyn knows this or not, but we know that the girls are in good hands with Kamdyn.  :)

Visit from Georgia and Nanny

We thought that this would be the week that we would FINALLY be in the lake house.  Georgia and Nanny wanted to visit so this would have been a good time for us to work at the lake house and for them to spend some time with the girls and with us at the lake.  Plans changed at the lake, again!  Surprise, surprise!  But, we certainly enjoyed our time with two of our favorites.  These girls got more loving and spoiling than any two kids deserve.

We love you, Nanny and Georgia, and  we can't wait for you to come back again!

Morning love from Georgie!

Throwing coins into the fountain!

Look how much these two look alike in this photo.  The sun was in their eyes and they both have the same "squint" face.  So cute!!

Riding the fishy!

Climbing the rope wall.

Lunch at O'Charley's.  Took lots of photos to attempt to get everyone smiling AND looking at the camera!

This was as good as it got!

Nanny bought Kamdyn a new pair of roller blades after learning that her old ones were too small.  This girl is OVER THE MOON in her new skates.  Notice that she no longer wears the whole pad ensemble....elbow, knees, and wrists.  She's so much more confident.

Super fashionable!

And this girl was not going to be out done.  We got out Kamdyn's old Barbie skates and put the locks on the wheels. Karcie was good to go!  Oh and Nanny bought Karcie a fancy ball since Kamdyn got skates.  :)

My precious skater girls!!

Again, I never could get everyone looking at the camera and smiling!!

Rainy Day Blues

This particular weekend, it rained all day Saturday and Sunday.  The girls were stuck inside with us.  We did everything we knew to do to pass the time.  They watched TV, played the Wii, played in the playroom, made princess plaster of paris molds, painted them, played play-doh, etc.  Finally, I had had enough on Sunday.  I let the go outside in their PJ's with umbrellas and rain boots.  They splashed in "muddy puddles" and even played hide and seek.  Thank goodness rainy weekends only come around every once in a while.

Karcie can rock out to Just Dance.  It's so cute!

Painting the princesses.

Smoothie Popsicles

Ruthie gave Karcie these fabulous silicone Popsicle molds for her birthday.  We just got around to trying them out.  I made smoothies and we poured them into the molds.  Karcie loved them.  Kamdyn did not.  We will have to try a different mix next time for Kamdyn.

How it started!  Notice we are inside.

How it ended!  We are now outside and she is bent over with a paper towel so that it doesn't drip all over her.  Notice her face, too!

Sleepover with Sydney

This sleepover started with a trip to the library for some psuedo-tye-dying time.  They colored on their shirts with permanent markers and them put alcohol on them with eye droppers to make the colors spread.  It was cute, but not really tye-dying.  While the big girls worked on their shirts, Karcie and I read books and checked out a few to take home.

Then, I took the girls to Red Robin for dinner.  We came home and got Karcie in bed.  Then, I painted the girls fingernails and they enjoyed ice cream while watching Flicka.  All was well until Kamdyn started coughing and thought she was going to be sick.  She scared poor Sydney to death.  I will spare you the dramatic details.  In the end, Kamdyn was fine and I think the girls had a good time.

Silly girl!

Summer Track Out Fun

We didn't have major plans except WAIT on the lake house to be ready.  Patience is not a virtue that any of us have in the Terry household.  We had to come up with alternate plans for Track Out.  We spent time together being lazy.  We went to the pool.  We played at the park.  And we hung out with the neighbors, of course!  I love having both of my girls at home with me even though they argue like cats and dogs at times.  :)

Sister time.....a.k.a. Karcie aggravating Kamdyn!

Pool time watching the men play corn hole across the way.

Sweet sister taking a break.

There was even a Richard sighting at the pool.  :)

Yay for Track Out!

These two cuties tracked out the last week of July for three weeks.  They were thrilled when they got off the bus that afternoon!
