Nanny bought this precious outfit for Kamdyn over a year ago. It was too big then, but she is finally growing in to it. It's still somewhat big for our skinny bean pole, but I thought she looked photo worthy. She was a little sleepy-eyed before school and not really interested in having her picture taken at all.

Hide and Seek JoJo
JoJo finds the magic carrot through some kind of transmitter. It doesn't really work $40 worth in my opinion, but Kamdyn loves it none the less! Kamdyn made all of us pose with JoJo the night after she got it.

The Neverending Fever
I never knew that a fever could last so long. But it has. 6 long days and I hope that it is gone tonight. Poor Kamdyn started with a fever last Saturday. We took her to the after hours clinic on Sunday hoping that they would give her an antibiotic. They did not. The tests said that she didn't have strep or the flu. So, what did she have? A dreaded viral infection which I think they dub any sickness that they don't actually have a name for. We were sent home with no medicine and no additional information, just a little peace of mind.
Fast forward to Wednesday. Fever is still present and a dreaded cough has formed! I am a Mom and I am starting to get a little worried! We take another trip to the doctor (another $25 copay), just to be told that she probably DID have the flu and the test probably gave us a false negative. What? Did I get any additional answers or meds after two trips to the pediatrician and $50? No, I did not! We were sent back home without anything....just wait it out. 24 hours later, she still had a 101 fever.
Last night, I was really starting to freak out. Why does this fever reveal itself at night when I am not watching my baby continuously? Thankfully, we got a new baby video monitor for Christmas (thanks Aunt Kathy and Uncle Jim) and I have really gotten some good use out of it this week. My eyes and ears have been on the monitor for 6 nights now. I have gotten up at least once a night to go into her room to do a temp check, give her some water, and check on her. I am tired and I know she is because she is coughing A LOT! I would love to sleep with her and would if I weren't pregnant. I don't think having the flu while pregnant is a good thing!! Let's not forget that more than half of my class has been out in the past two weeks with either the flu, bronchitis, strep, or an ear infection. AND, my poor teaching assistant worked two days sick to find out that she has the flu, too!
If I do not get the flu or some sort of sickness it will be a complete miracle! Stayed tuned and please pray that Kamdyn gets better quickly and that her pregnant Mama doesn't get sick!!! We've got things to do around here besides be sick!!

Sweet Baby.......
GIRL!!!
Well, I was wrong and I am completely okay with that. Kamdyn and Richard were really excited because both wanted a girl. Kamdyn proclaimed in the ultrasound room, "I told you it was a girl, Mama!" She was jumping up and down! Fortunately, we have most everything that we will need for a girl except LOTS of DIAPERS!!! I will be at home tonight getting the crib ready with the bedding that we used for Kamdyn's crib. Now it's time to think of a name!! It will most definitely be a "K" name because I have all of those "K" clothes!
I will post some ultrasound pictures after I get home and scan them.
YAY!!! It's another sweet girl!!

BIG Ultrasound!
Tomorrow we have "the big" ultrasound to determine if our sweet second baby will be a boy or a girl! I am so ready to know! I am such a planner and my Type A personality has been in overdrive here lately. We were supposed to find out today, but Richard could not get his work schedule to fit so we rescheduled for tomorrow morning at 8:20. I am on pins and needles and probably will not sleep a wink tonight. I will be blessed to have either a boy or girl, but I kind of have a feeling that it is a boy. Kamdyn and I browsed Buy Buy Baby this afternoon. Although the girly pink stuff definitely catches my eye the most, I could happily get used to some blues and greens. I couldn't get Kamdyn to even glance at the boy stuff. She was all about the pink girly stuff!
Be sure to check your texts, facebook, and our blog tomorrow for the BIG update!
Until then, what are your predictions?
Will Baby Terry be a Boy or Girl?

Kamdyn is READING!!
Kamdyn has been reading for about 2 1/2 months now, but I haven't gotten it on video until today. We actually had some time with the snow day. At first I was still a little hesitant to label her an actual "reader" because I still thought she had her books memorized. But, I am convinced now that she is actually reading the words. We started on sight words over a year ago. She learned about 12 and then just took off on her own recognizing words here and there. She is now sounding words out on her own and has started figuring out irregular rules such as the silent e on the end of words, silent beginning sounds such as the k in knife, and the ph that makes the /f/ sound as in phone. When she comes to one of those words she will say, "There's one of those crazy words." I am amazed at how quickly she has caught on. I have taught children her age for ten years now and I have never seen a child pick up reading as quickly as she has. I am proud, but it's not anything we've really done. She was determined to learn! Most days she can be found with a book instead of any toy that we have in our house. She is a bookworm and we are very proud of her!
Here she is reading one of her easier books. She chose to read this one for the camera. I am amazed at her intonation while she reads. She doesn't really sound like a robot like some children do when they first learn to read.
