Little Neighborhood Cuties

Most afternoons we can be found hanging out in our neighbor's driveway along with many other of the neighborhood kiddos.  On this particular day, the little girls were cracking me up with their play and how they were "hanging out."  I had to get some photos.

No Naps and Board Games

Sadly, little Miss Karcie has given up her afternoon nap.  We started skipping naps on the weekends when we were busy.  She did fine.  I was still trying to get her to nap during the week so that I could get some things done around the house.  She was napping about every other day.  Then, it started being a lot of trouble to get her down.  We tried "quiet time" for a couple of weeks. She played quietly in her bed in hopes that she would fall asleep.  The Ipad stopwatch was on.  She couldn't come out until it buzzed.  She never once fell asleep.  I decided that she just didn't need a nap anymore.  Instead, she goes to bed earlier.  It seems to be working better for all of us.  EXCEPT, I hardly get anything done during the day.

We fill our days with Jazzercise, school, dance lessons, games, TV, outside time, and waiting on Kamdyn's bus to get here in the afternoons.  She is finally starting to understand the concept of playing board games (i.e. taking turns).  I love these moments with my baby girl!

Precious Moments

During one of the last warm weekends of the year, the girls wanted to have lunch outside on the porch.  We intended to join them, but ended up watching them from inside because they were just so sweet.  They talked like little old ladies while eating their lunch.  I tried to sneak a photo or two, but then they spotted me.  These two can fuss, argue, and fight like all siblings do.  They also love each other to pieces.

Our Karcie Girl

We continue to be amazed at how wel Karcie is doing at school.  She absolutely loves going to school.  She comes home everyday telling us all about it.  Somedays she tells us things that are "tall tales."  One day she told me that she was the line leader.  I knew this was a fib because we have a calendar that tells us the day that our child is the helper.  However, I indulged her and allowed her to keep telling her story.  When she was finished she said, "But don't tell Ms. Jennifer, okay?"  In other words, this story may not be true so don't ask Ms. Jennifer about it.  ;)

They made this  cute little book below that contained several more pages.  I took pics of my favorites.  I love the bio.  I have no idea what apple casserole is and we certainly don't have a dog.  When we asked her about her dog, she told us that her dog lived in our backyard in the garden.  This girl cracks us up!!

The last photo is a note from one of her teachers.  It made me cry!!  Karcie is the sweetest little thing, but she makes me want to pull my hair out sometimes.  It thrills my soul to know that she is behaving at school.  It's nice to know that what we teach her every single day at home is sinking in that hard head and is being applied at school.  She is such a strong willed child.  I know it will serve her well one day, but it certainly tries our patience at times.

We love our Karcie girl so very much and are so thankful that God chose us to care for her.  She teaches us so much about unconditional love and patience.  She loves with all of her heart and is wide open with everything that she does.  We can't wait to see how she changes and grows.  It's so hard to believe that she will be four in only six months.

Visiting Aunt Kathy and Uncle Jim

I am WAY behind on my posts so I am going to try to go back and recap what we've been doing for the past month.

After taking the girls to the football game on Saturday, we visited Aunt Kathy and Uncle Jim that Sunday for lunch.  We enjoyed a delicious lunch and the girls loved playing with their dog Poppy.  They have finally gotten used to her.  They also had a super time hanging out with Aunt Kathy and Uncle Jim.  There's always a game of hide-and-seek in their house.  Poppy makes it much easier to find everyone though.

Thanks for having us, Aunt Kathy and Uncle Jim.  We love you guys!

Clemson vs. NC State

Since this was a 3:30 game we decided to take the girls with us to tailgate for a while.  They have been begging to go so this was the perfect time!  It's hard to take them into a game.  I have a hard enough time sitting for four hours.  Ruthie also came to hang out and agreed to take them out once the game started.  Kamdyn REALLY wanted to go inside!  After hours of begging and us giving some rules, we agreed. Karcie went with Ruthie back to Nanny's and Kamdyn stayed with us.  Ruthie said that Karcie fell asleep in the car and then took over an hour long nap on Nanny's couch.  I guess being a little Tiger will wear you out!  :)

We decided to take the girls for a walk around campus before it got too hectic.  We showed them our dorms.....which is where Richard and I met for the very first time.  Kamdyn was very interested in seeing where we lived.  I so hope that they can go to Clemson one day and experience the love that we have for that place!  Some of the best days of my life were spent there.

The girls go Tiger Paws as soon as we arrived!

Karcie's stayed on most of the morning, but then she started peeling it off!

Showing off their Tiger Paws!  Karcie found these beads at my Mom's and needed to wear them.  They were kind of orange!

You know she had to dig in the sand!  YUCK!

My big girl!

THE Geer Hall....whoop whoop!

The Rock

One of these things is not like the other.....she would not stand with Richard and Kamdyn.

It was SO windy that day!

Walking back to the tailgate.  Karcie said she couldn't walk anymore.

Family collage!

Gorgeous blue sky!

I love how this photo turned out.  Omar was our fabulous photographer!

Karcie loved playing with Baby Banks.  These photos are so precious!

Playing with Karcie's hair.

Loving Baby Banks' hand.  :)
Kamdyn and Ruthie keeping warm behind the trailer.

Kamdyn loved on Baby Banks, too.

Karcie was cold so Ruthie was keeping her warm!

We tried to take a "Tiger Kiddo" photo.  This is how that went!!

This was the best one that I got!

Happy Birthday to Nanny!

We celebrated Nanny's birthday a few weeks ago because we knew we wouldn't be with her on her actual birthday.  Lucky Nanny is at the beach for her birthday!!

First we went to dinner at Capris.....my favorite restaurant (even though it was Nanny's birthday!)

Then, we came home and celebrated with a cookie cake.  Most of it ended up at the tailgate the next day though.

We love you, Nanny, and we wish you many, many more!!

Silly faces at Capris.  My phone died just after I snapped this photo.

Arranging the candles on the cake.

Happy Birthday to Nanny!

These two had to take a turn blowing out the candles.

More than once.....
