Batter Up!

Since Richard has been playing softball, Kamdyn has been increasingly interested in throwing, catching, and hitting a ball. She had a mitt and ball, but didn't have a bat. I bought her a bat and ball. We've been having batting practice for a couple of days. She is surprisingly doing really well! I'm going to turn her into an athletic little girly girl yet!!

She always wants to pitch. She has quite an arm, but not much accuracy as to where she wants the ball to go! :)

She has specific rules for everyone playing.

We had to take a break to look at the ant hill. Daddy says she's worse than a MLB player getting ready to bat. She takes forever before she is ready for her next swing. She does a few practice swings. She moves the dirt around on home plate. I guess she's just copying what she has seen! :)

Look at that stance. Pretty good if you ask me!

And, we have a base hit!

Good camera work, Daddy!

I'm so glad she enjoys sports! We hope to have her playing soccer and maybe even tee ball soon to go along with those prissy dance lessons! :)

A Day at the Lake

We haven't been brave enough to venture to the lake with Kamdyn. Sadly, I haven't been since Kamdyn was born. Richard took off from work on Friday to go fishing EARLY that morning. When I say early, I mean he woke up at 4:45 in the AM! He could not talk me in to going that early. So, Kamdyn and I met him after Jazzercise around lunchtime. We enjoyed Blimpie subs and PB&J's on the boat. Kamdyn was a little apprehensive about getting in the HUGE lake, but quickly squashed that anxiety. After getting in, she wouldn't get out! She decided that she liked the lake better than the pool. She's definitely her father's child!!!! Her Mom would rather be at the pool any day! Our family day was enjoyable and I can't wait to do it again now that I know she loves it!

Kamdyn's first dip in the lake. I was a nervous wreck!

That's a lot of water!

Both of them were happy as a clam!

Yep, we had to pull out the Dora potty again! It worked perfect for her. I wish I could find a grown up version!! :)

Giving Kamdyn some fishing lessons!

She would not hold the fish that she caught on her own.

We caught two so I held the 2nd one.

She finally talked me in to getting in the water.

As soon as we got in the car, she was OUT!

Summer Softball

Richard is playing softball with his work on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Since we are FREE for the summer, Kamdyn and I go along to cheer him on. GO GSK!!!

Kamdyn being dramatic!

Posing for the camera!

Daddy is up to bat!

Kamdyn was coaching him by saying, "Good Luck, Daddy!"

Kamdyn and Mommy

I promised Kamdyn if she did an AWESOME job at her dance recital that I would "spend the night" in her bed. She held up her end of the bargain and, of course, wouldn't let me forget about my end of the bargain. Believe it or not this is the first time that she and I have slept in the same bed together. She has always been such a good sleeper. I never wanted to jinx our wonderful nights by giving her this option. I was always afraid that she would have a fit every night to sleep with me if I ever started it. I feel that she is old enough now to completely understand. I told her that I would agree to sleep in her bed every now and again if she promised that we wouldn't have a nightly argument about it. She agreed and so far so good!

She was so excited!

She couldn't understand why I didn't want to sleep on one of her pillows! I explained to her that I had to have my own pillow if I was going to sleep in her bed.

Both of us had our teddy bears with us. Yes, I sleep with my bear EVERY night at the age of 31!

Dance Recital

This year's production was entitled "Iris and the Twilight Shadows." Kamdyn had a great year and did such a good job performing. Even though she claims to be nervous and shy on stage, her performances prove quite the opposite. She worked so hard to do all of the steps just the right way! We were so very proud of her! A big thank you to Nanny, Mama Lucy, and Ruthie for making the day trip to see our little angel dance. We love you!

Before dropping our sweetie off backstage.

She was part of the "Mother's Children."
She's on the right with her arms up.

Here is her tap dance to "Why do you Build Me Up Buttercup Baby!"
She's 2nd from the right.

Her class danced by themselves for part of the dance.

Then, the rest of the dancers joined them.

Time for the BIG BOW!

After the show with her Daddy. She was hot and ready to go home. She wouldn't even accept her bouquet of flowers!

I had to tickle her to even get a smile!

"I DON'T WANT TO HAVE MY PICTURE TAKEN!"

You can have some ice cream if you smile really pretty for a few pictures!

Bribery works every time even though I don't really like to bribe!

Can I get my ice cream now?

Please don't make me smile anymore!

Such a sweet photo!

This is the last picture......we promise!

"Good thing because I want to ride my bicycle and then eat my ice cream!"

Zac Brown Band

Who doesn't love an outdoor summer concert where you bring your own chairs, buy $7 drinks, run for shelter because a severe storm is on the way (even though we were clearly "below the dot"), get evacuated out of said shelter by the police who clearly wanted to put us in harm's way, just to return to the concert where lots of mud has collected BUT you get seats VERY close to the stage? I would say it was all worth it!!! Zac Brown Band was worth every minute of the mayhem and wait!

If you want to see another point of view of this concert please visit this post "Why Wouldntya?"

Waiting on ZBB!

I had to bring out the hat. Humidity was terrible!

WOOO HOOO! Potter's favorite pose!

My favorite pose?

Richard's favorite surprise....S-N-E-A-K-Y!

The Rizzos and Jessica's sister who graciously invited us to their house for the pre and post party! We had such a good time!

Our two giggliest friends! Love them!

ZBB before the storm arrived!

You are going to wish you had some of these athletic shoes in about 5 minutes!

Event staff: "Get your chairs people and get to your cars!"
Richard: "We are below the dot. This storm ain't gonna get us!"
Kimberly: "I'm getting the heck out of here!"

We didn't make it to our car, but we did make it to this concession stand hut.

After about 45 minutes, the gates opened back up. While maneuvering our way to the front we stepped in lots of yucky mud!

But we had fun anyway!

Smile Amy! We promise not to get your car too muddy! Potter will even hang his flip flops out the window!

We need Potter in this pic! A good time was had by all!

Back at the Rizzos.....Richard loves a dog and they seem to love him, too! :)

Hmmm........I think it's time to go home!

Hallelujah (insert Hallelujah Chorus here!)

No, I'm not pregnant (even though I wish that was what the cause of this celebration was about)!

People, The Terrys have arrived! We have finally discovered that high speed Internet EXISTS!!! I will no longer spend hours upon hours waiting for pictures to upload to my blog. Instead, my blogging time will be diminished to mere minutes. What will I do with all of my extra time?

Seriously, those of you who read my blog would have sent me donations for me to upgrade our Internet speed if you truly knew how SLOW our Internet has been and if you know how long it took me to complete one post with FIVE pictures! I finally talked my sweet, but frugal husband into it!

I am doing the happy dance! Now.....I've got to get back to updating this blog!
