First Slumber Party

Even though Kamdyn and Jacob have stayed together at Georgia's many nights, this was Kamdyn's first slumber party at our house. Jacob's Mom was out of town for a few days so I volunteered to keep Jacob for a night. He and Kamdyn play so well together. Having him over was actually a break for me because he was able to occupy Kamdyn completely! I am sure this will only be the beginning of many slumber parties that we will have at our house. Of course, before we know it they will have to be reserved for "girls only." How will I ever explain this to Kamdyn?

Enjoying their morning breakfast. What's on the menu?
Jacob - Fruit Loops and Chocolate Milk
Kamdyn - Lucky Charms and Strawberry Milk

We spent most of Thursday at the pool across the street at our neighbor's house.

I am so proud of how much braver Kamdyn has gotten in the water here lately!

Enjoying lunch at the pool. PB&J's on hot dog buns! I was out of bread!

Love these two sweeties!

Meet Sylvie

I finally gave in and allowed Kamdyn to have a "pet." Although, I am not sure that this would qualify as a pet in most of your minds. As I've said before we are not animal people. Not to say that we aren't animal lovers, we just don't want animals of our own. After promising Kamdyn for several months now that we would get a Betta fish. Here she (he) is! Kamdyn insisted on the name Sylvie even though I told her that this particular Betta was a boy! No idea where Sylvie came from. She has this weird way of just coming up with names!

Feeding Sylvie these awful smelling flakes of dried up worms and bugs. GROSS!

Are you okay, Sylvie? Kamdyn has been worried that Sylvie's water was going to get dirty and make her (him) die! I told her I promised to clean out the fish bowl weekly! One more chore for Mommy, but a happy face for Kammie! :)

Memorial Day Weekend 2010

Our weekend started with a visit from Ruthie on Friday. We enjoyed dinner with her from Mellow Mushroom and a very relaxing boat ride.

Dinner on the boat with Ruthie.

View at the rapids. This is the fall line that divides the Foothills from the Piedmont in SC.

On Saturday morning we had B. B. Gun Target practice which Kamdyn loved!

Checking the target to see if her shot got close to the bulls eye.

The view from my chair! Love it!! I got in on the B. B. Gun Target practice, too. There just aren't any pictures to prove it. I wasn't very good!

The rest of the crew arrived just in time for grilled burgers for lunch on Saturday. Kamdyn enjoyed a weekend of fun at Georgia's. I tried to get her to come back home on Sunday night, but she refused. She was having too much fun!

We took a golf cart ride through the river neighborhoods in North Augusta which included many interesting stops along the way....

The fanciest chicken coop we've ever seen!

How sweet!

And, again! :)

Getting ready to go downtown by boat for lunch.

Someone got mischievous near Fort Discovery.

Then the rains came and we were forced to take cover on the porch. Go Jazzercise!

I guess you play cards when it rains on your outdoor weekend!

I guess you turn your hat inside out too!

When the rain stopped, Carrie and I took a jet ski ride!

It was comical! We'll save the video for the year-in-review!

Can you believe it was chilly enough for jeans and jackets??

On our way to the Rapids to have dinner on the boat!

In the fog...with the Captain and the best first mate EVER (if he can get her to pay attention)!

And, finally, what would a trip to River North be without a pig story? Yep, they caught a pig in one of the neighborhood pig traps.

Needless to say, the little piggie didn't make it. I will spare the gory pictures. They loaded it up into the truck and took it to the processor.

Last Visit to Monkey Joe's for a while

Kamdyn and I were invited to another birthday party at Monkey Joe's for one of my students. I have since decided that it was our last visit for a while. Kamdyn doesn't love it and can't seem to find the enjoyment in all of the huge jumpy slides and she dislikes Monkey Joe immensely! So, after lots of complaining and tears about being too old for the "baby" slides and too little for the BIG slides I decided that we would wait Monkey Joe's out for a few months until she gets a little more confident. When Monkey Joe came in the room she, of course, cried! This is the child who insisted on having her party there a few months ago! Adios Monkey Joe until we're a little older!

Where the Wild Things Are

Sometimes I feel like the Wild Things live in my house....however, on this particular night (I had survived my last week of school) I promised Kamdyn that she could have my undivided attention for an entire movie along with a yummy snack of chocolate chip cookies and milk for dipping. We had a good time when the Wild Rumpus began especially after Kamdyn devoured 4 big cookies! I just knew she would be sick with a tummy ache. She claimed that she could have eaten more, but I encouraged (made) her stop! :)

We planned to share with Daddy, but he never came up from downstairs. So, we did what anyone else would do and we ate ALL of the cookies ourselves! I think we did save one for him! :)

Eating cookies while watching the movie.

Smiling for the camera...chocolate smile and ALL!
I love these special times with my girl!

Graduating from 3K

Where has this year gone? My baby made it through her first year of school and we couldn't be prouder. She did such a great job singing on the big stage. She walked right across the stage and got her certificate. Afterwards we enjoyed some yummy refreshments.

Nanny and Georgia were there to celebrate Kamdyn's accomplishment with us. Daddy had an off-shore fishing trip planned months prior to our finding out the date of her ceremony. He couldn't change the date and we did miss him, but the show went on. I did have to video tape, which is usually his job, and take pictures. That was interesting! After graduation she chose PF Chang's for her dining pleasure. She enjoyed egg drop soup. We had such a great day! (Mommy even got some shopping in at the mall.) Bring on 4K!
