The Many Faces of Karcie

Karcie loves to entertain us every chance she gets.  Sometimes it's borderline aggravation at its finest.   We love her anyway and she sure does make us laugh.  A lot.

She's got style, right?!?!

This and That

Daddy had to go to New Jersey for a little while so these little cuties always beg to sleep with me.  I used to only let Kamdyn because it interrupted Karcie's sleep pattern too much.  Now she's big enough to handle it.  In fact, she takes up her side of the bed and mine.  I have to move her over to her side every time she sleeps with me.  I snapped sweet sleeping photos of my loves.  Nothing is more precious!

Nanny got Kamdyn and Karcie each a Thomas Rhett tshirt to sleep in.  We love some Thomas Rhett around here!

My angels make the world spin for this Mama.

Back to the Lake

We left Nanny's and went straight to the lake.  I had to access the damage those boys had done at the lake house before Ruthie arrived.  I was pleasantly surprised.  They didn't make such a terrible mess afterall.  After some dusting, wiping down counters, sinks, tubs, and floors, the house was back to normal.  Karcie even helped mop the floors!

Sister antics...always going on!

Karcie got a hold of my phone.
 And started taking selfies!

There was some Monopoly Jr. game playing with Ruthie.

There's always fishing!

Bird Watching

And lots of good food.  This girl can eat a chicken leg!

Boat rides are our favorite!

Mommy's hat!

I finally got a chance to reel in some fishies!

Contrary to what Richard believes, we do like to fish.  Just not as much as he does!!

A Week in the Upstate

We hit the road to visit Nanny for a week since we are off for the entire summer.  We squeezed in A LOT in our short time there.  We had a super fun time hanging out with some of our most favorite people.  We can't wait to go back!

Aunt Kathy and Jim came to visit.  Actually, they came to keep the girls while my Mom and I went to a funeral for one of my childhood friends.  Aunt Kathy and Uncle Jim took the girls to the movies to see the Secret Life of Pets.  They had a great time!

When they got back, we celebrated my birthday with a big cookie and later with dinner at Copper River.  I really appreciated all of the special birthday love.  I missed my Richard, but he was doing his own celebrating!  Here's to year 39!  I think I'll just get stuck at this age!

Aunt Kathy's new car!  Just a little bit jealous...sigh!

Walking in to the movies.  They certainly love their Uncle Jim!  And, Aunt Kathy, too!

My Mama always goes overboard to make me feel special on my birthday.  No one will EVER love me the way that she goes.  I love you, Mama!

Getting help blowing out the candles.

The next morning we stopped by to visit Mama Lucy.  She was alert.  And while her mind is getting old, she still loves these girls so much.  You can see it in her face as soon as they walk up.  It's the sweetest thing I've ever seen.  These girls love her equally as much.  Kamdyn cried when we left Mama Lucy.  She was the only one left sitting in the common area.  Kamdyn was sad to leave her all alone.  It's hard seeing the ones you love grow old especially in a nursing home.  We are so thankful for every second we get to spend with this special lady that we are  blessed to call Mama Lucy!

After visiting Mama Lucy, I decided that it was time to visit my Daddy's grave.  I just haven't felt up to it in the two years that he has been gone.  I knew it was time....past time.  So we went.  I am glad that I did.  I feel so much better.  A peaceful feeling came over me while we were there.  I know he is not in that ground.  I know he forever lives with Jesus and will be there when I get there.  I do miss him terribly and long for one more hug, one more silly comment.  Life on Earth will never be the same, but I tell my girls that life goes on.  We must cherish every day because we never know when our last one will be.

I also got to go to dinner with some of my most favorite high school friends.  We enjoyed food, fun, and fellowship at Yard House.  Then we spent some time talking afterwards at my Mom's house.  It's always fun to catch up with those who have known you the longest.  Love these girls!!

One of my last visits was with my dear friend, Brady.  He met us for lunch at one of our old favorite spots, Athas.  It did not disappoint.  I love a good Athas Chili Cheeseburger....nope, it's not good for you at all.  But I can't go there without getting one.  I was happy to get to see Brady. He hasn't changed a bit in the 25 years that I have known him. Such a sweet and good guy!

See you next time Powdersville, SC!
