Tornado

We had a wacky weather day towards the end of February.  It was so wacky that preschools and public schools let out early.  I am not a fan of storms big or small.  I was kind of freaked out myself especially when they started closing schools.  This particular day was a "Bailey Day" so I had to get her from preschool early, too.  While I was picking up the little girls, I also stopped by and checked out Kamdyn and Sydney so I didn't have to go back out in the "storm."

They predicted the storm to start around 4:00. The two little girls were completely oblivious.  They were playing with their dolls and were dressing up.  They weren't the least bit concerned about a silly "storm."  Meanwhile, the anxious people (read: Kamdyn and Kimberly) were pacing around the house and were glued to the weather reports on the TV.  The storm was starting and Bailey was still happy as could be running around.  Kamdyn started getting stressed out so I had to get Bailey's Mom to come get her a few minutes early.

They finally issued warnings for Apex and instructed us to take cover.  I had already cleaned out the closet under our stairs.  Once I did that, Kamdyn's anxiety level went through the roof.  She was on the verge of a real panic attack.  Thankfully, the so called storm ended up being minimal in our immediate area.  It did cause damage in other areas, but we were fine.  It was over just in time for us to load up to go to a make-up basketball game that had been cancelled a week or so before because of snow.  Crazy weather is right!!

These silly girls crack me up!!

Closet cleaned out and ready!

Mommy and Princess Karcie were giggling.

Kamdyn was having none of it....anxiety was TOO much for her!

February Birthday Parties

Karcie's February was full of birthday parties.  Two of her favorite school friends invited her to their parties.  One was a Pancake and PJ party at her best buddy, Lawson's, house.  Karcie enjoyed flipping pancakes and playing pin the nose on the pancake.  She actually won!

Kaitlyn's party was at Bounce U.  This girl is fearless on all of this bouncy stuff.  She never once asked for help.  She jumped right in and did what all of the other kids were doing....which was screaming A LOT and running all over the place.  I love watching Karcie interact with her friends! She really knows how to have a good time!

STEAM Night at Scott's Ridge

Kamdyn's school had a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math night.  This was a school event that Richard was happy to attend.  Karcie and I were able to stay at home while these two smarties worked hard on different projects.  It sounds like there were a few good competitions and that they had a great time.  I love it when Richard gets to spend time with each girl at separate times.  The girls really soak up their alone time with him!

Valentine's Day 2016

We had a pretty low-key weekend.  The girls each had their school Valentine's Party on Friday.  I am so thankful that I was able to attend and help with Karcie's party.  Kamdyn's class only exchanged Valentine's card.  No parties in 4th grade.  Boo!

We make homemade Valentine's cards each year.  I think this one with the lollipop is hilarious!  Kamdyn had a gazillion rainbow loom bracelets so I thought this was perfect for her to give out!

Karcie's 4K Valentine's party!
On Friday night Richard took his three Valentine's to dinner!  Then, we shopped around Apex for just a bit.  While I walked around alone these three were participating in antics of their own!

Packages and cards arrived all week.  I made the girls wait until the BIG day to open everything.  They woke up on Sunday like it was Christmas.  Boxes and cards from Georgia, Nanny, Ruthie, Aunt Kathy, and Uncle Jim.  These two girls are loved so much!!

Richard got each of the girls a balloon and a beautiful heart necklace.  They were so happy!!

We made and decorated heart cookies in the afternoon.   Karcie loved the frosting way more than the cookies!

My blessings are plenty even on the days when I feel stressed!  These two have my heart. I will forever be grateful to God for these two perfect creations.

Typical Saturday night!

Our sweet girls cooked dinner for us and we enjoyed a Wii game night.  Our Black Bean Casserole was delicious.  Bowling was the game of choice.  We always laugh so hard at bowling especially at Karcie.  She finally knows how to work the remote most of the time.  She takes her games seriously!  She is so competitive and we love it!!  Check out her victory dance!

Basketball Season Mid-Point!

Basketball season is nearly half-way finished.  It has been a fun season so far...definitely a lot of close games that have made me nervous.  We've only lost two and we really could have won both of them.  We had a lot of missed baskets in our first loss.  The second loss was due to a crazy man at the scorer's table who tried to tell Richard that he hadn't played five of the girls the minimum of minutes.  One of those was Kamdyn!!  We knew he was wrong.  Anyone who knows Richard knows that he always has a plan.  He has a spreadsheet with his line-up each week.  He knows exactly how many minutes each girl will play before the game starts.  Sadly, this particular game was against the best team in the league.  We couldn't afford to have our best players sitting on the bench in the 4th quarter.  Richard followed the rules that the guy at the scorer's table enforced even though he was WAY off.  We ended up with a loss.  We know it's just youth  basketball, but when you invest your time and energy, it stinks to lose to the best team because of someone else's mistake when you had a chance to win.

We have four games left and then the tournament.  Hoping we do well in the tournament!
Go Mercury!!
