Daddy Dress-up

Kamdyn received this party favor at a birthday party she attended at the same place that we had her party.  Funny thing was that her friend's Mom and I planned their parties without knowing that we were planning to have them at the same place within a day of each other.  Their little classmates had to attend two parties in the same weekend at the same place.  Oh well!  They had fun despite the double booked party.  :)

This cracks me up and Richard will probably kill me for posting, but this is what all Daddy's with little girls get to do.  They have NO choice in the matter.  Little girls dress up and they love to dress up their Mommy AND Daddy, too!

Church Egg Hunt and a Day with Daddy

Our church had their annual Easter Egg Hunt a few weeks before Easter...a little too early, if you ask me.  They planned it for a Friday when Aiken County was out of school.  Unfortunately, our county was out the previous Friday.  She was missing our school egg hunt because her birthday party was scheduled at the exact day and time prior to my knowing about the schools egg hunt.  Anyway, we let Kamdyn play hooky from school for the first time in order to go.  Richard was able to take her and I thought this would give them some quality time together.  It looks like they had a great time!  No hair bow or Easter outfit which means Daddy was in charge!!  :)

The Smocked Shop Model

Kamdyn has been a good little sport with trying on clothes and modeling for our Facebook page.  The funny thing is that she comes up with her own perfect little poses without being told what to do.  I love this little girl to pieces!  If you haven't shared us with your friends, don't forget to do so.  We have done well so far.  We are currently over 900 fans on FB in a few short weeks.  We have done well, but need more fans and more traffic on our website.  Thanks to those of you who have already shared us with your friends and family.  Pass our link, www.thesmockedshop.com ,on to others and have them "Like" us on Facebook.

Singing at Church

Kamdyn sang at church with her Sunday School class and the Child Development Center a few Sundays ago.  I got some good videos, but not any really good photos.  She is on the right behind the little girl in the multi-colored dress.  She always has to stand in back because she is so tall.  I get it, but it sure is hard to see my baby when she is performing on stage.  :(

Lunch with Nanny

Kamdyn, Karcie, Georgia, and I headed to Greenwood a couple of Fridays ago when Kamdyn and I were out of school.  We enjoyed meeting for Nanny at our usual meeting place, The Cracker Barrel.  It was delicious, but the company was much better!

Taking a picture of these three is next to impossible!  I never could get all of them looking at the camera and smiling at the same time.  It was fun trying though!  :)

First Boat Ride of Spring

Since Spring decided to arrive rather early this year, we didn't waste anytime putting the boat in the water and enjoying the nice weather.  When we left our dock it was nice and sunny.  When we returned there was a cool nip in the air to remind us that Spring wasn't really here yet.  Thankfully I was prepared and took all of us a jacket just in case.  :)

Karcie seemed to approve of the ride!

New Adventure

After walking numerous packages from our mailbox to our house for over six months and watching me take out monogrammed, appliqued, smocked, or personalized clothing for one or both of our K girls, Richard FINALLY stopped giving me the "why in the world do you keep buying this stuff look" and started inquiring about my obsession to nightly FB sales.  After asking me TONS of questions and investigating some things on his own, he decided that my obsession may have the capability of being profitable to us.  His first "test" was EBAY. He had me dig through monogrammed and smocked clothing that Karcie had outgrown so he could post them on EBAY.  When these gently used gems sold unbelievably quickly for really good prices, his "wheels" really began to turn.  Several children's clothing wholesalers were contacted.  Orders were placed.  Richard designed a website and a Facebook page was created.  Drum roll please.......a monogramming machine was purchased!!  This could have saved me tons over the past six years!

Fast forward to March.....

We are ready to reveal our newest adventure....The Smocked Shop!!  We are selling adorable children's clothing at affordable prices which brought us to our "slogan".  ~Adorable Affordable~  We are in the beginning stages and expect our first large shipment in the next week or so.  The products currently listed on our website as "presale" are what will be offered with our first shipment.  We started with girls clothing to see how things go and we hope to add boys clothing in our next order.

I post this on our blog for a couple of reasons.
1.  to document this adventure so that it can go into our next printed blog book.
2.  so that our blog followers, family, and friends can help promote us.

Please visit us on Facebook and "Like" our actual "The Smocked Shop" page.  Visit our website at www.thesmockedshop.com and check out our products.  Finally, PLEASE share us with your Facebook friends, your non-Facebook friends, and your families.  If you feel inclined, link us on your blog, facebook wall, etc.  We appreciate any "shout outs" that we can get to get us started!  We were so happy to discover that we made our first sale today AND it isn't a friend, family member, or anyone that we know.  We have been "live" for a day and have already sold a "pre-sale" item!

I am particularly excited about this new business adventure because I get to look at sweet little girls and boys clothing ALL of the time.  I also do not have to listen to Richard complain about all of the time that I spend (after the girls go to bed) on FB.  Now, I have a legitimate reason. I've got to check out the competition and try to figure out what we can do better to get more "likes" and more sales.*wink*

Thank you for helping us out!  We hope you will love our clothing as much as we (I) do.  :)  Please give us constructive feed back, suggestions, comments, etc.  If you have clothing ideas that you would like to see for sale, we can send the designs to our manufacturers, order them, and sell them in our shop!

To be continued....
