Kindermusik

Kamdyn's first day at Kindermusik went pretty well! She was a hand full just as I suspected that she would be. She was the only baby in the class who could walk which was not to my advantage. While all of the other mother's were helping their child "move" to the music, I was chasing Kamdyn around the room. She was going in the wrong direction, in the middle of the floor when we were supposed to be on the outside, refused to be held, taking the instruments from the little babies, going up to every baby saying "HEY!", etc., etc., etc. She was just as I expected her to be. She did, however, have a good time! I, on the other hand, was completely worn out after trying to keep up with her and at least "act" like I was trying to get her to do the "right" thing. Here are a couple of pictures. I couldn't take many because I was busy making sure that she wasn't inadvertently bothering the other the children. Some of the other Mom's were saying, "She is a social butterfly! Wow, she's friendly!" I wonder what they were really thinking! "Can't this lady control her child?" Who knows??? Kamdyn had fun and so did I!! I'll keep you posted on how she continues to do! Kamdyn was supposed to help me use a paper bag as an instrument and shake one of the shakers. She decided that she was going to put EVERY ONE of the red shakers in our bag instead! Sitting beside Kamdyn is, Caroline, a friend of mine's baby, Keri, from work.

Here is Kamdyn looking at Weston laying in the floor. He is a friend of mine's baby, Angie, from work.

Kindermusik and Jazzercise

As Kamdyn and I have an entire summer to enjoy together, I've scheduled a few weekly events to keep us both busy and happy! I signed Kamdyn up for Kindermusik which is a program for children that incorporates music, movement, instruments, dance, etc. Moms (or Dads) go to the class with their child. We are taking the Busy Days Summer Camp on Tuesday mornings which "takes" us to familiar places that parents go with baby (i.e. grocery store, library, post office, etc.). Kamdyn is in the Infant-18 months class. We are keeping our fingers crossed that she does okay in the class and that we don't get kicked out the first day. As I keep saying, Kamdyn is busy, busy, busy. I'll let you know how she does!! :)

As for Mommy, I signed myself up for Jazzercise. I will be going Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 9:15-10:15. While I am getting myself in to shape, Kamdyn will be enjoying some play time with other children whose Mom's are Jazzercising with me. They have childcare that only cost $1.00 per class. What a deal!!! Her first "play dates" have not started off so great! She screamed to the top of her lungs both times when I dropped her off. However, I've found her both times enjoying the other children and happy as a lark when I picked her up. So far, I LOVE Jazzercise! It is the best total body work out that I've had in years. I recommend it for anyone who likes to dance and exercise.

Pigtails.......Well, Almost!

Everyone knows that I am dying for Kamdyn to get a little more hair so I can put it in some frilly little bows. It is growing a pretty good bit in the back. So this weekend I decided that I would try to get the back of her hair in to pigtails. This was the best I could do! Why they are not quite what anyone could consider pigtails, they do look cute on our precious angel. Believe it or not, she didn't fuss one single bit as I pulled and tugged to get her hair in to the elastics. Even more unbelievable is that she left them in her hair almost all day until I took them out. Ignore the quality of the pictures. My camera battery was going dead!

Mommy's Undies!

Now that school is over for the summer. I get to spend each and everyday with my sweet little Kamdyn. On our first full day together, I had lots of laundry to do. Kamdyn LOVES to help me with EVERYTHING these days. She is my permanent shadow. In fact, she is in my lap right now trying to "help" me type! While she does actually "help" me sometimes, she does seem to sometimes create more work for me. As quickly as I am folding the clothes, she is unfolding them and dragging them off someplace. Here she is "wearing" my underwear on her arm. Then, next thing I know, she is throwing them in the trash can. Maybe she was trying to tell me that I need new undies! :) Maybe a trip to Victoria's Secret is in the near future. Right, Daddy?

Spaghetti....Mmm my favorite!

Here is Kamdyn diving in to her favorite food. You can tell why it's not Mommy's favorite food for Kamdyn. She requires a heavy duty bath after this meal. However, she absolutely LOVES it along with an entire piece of cheese toast. She's just like her Mommy. Her favorite foods so far are pasta, bread, and cheese! Wow, looks like she's going to be a healthy eater! :(

Mother's Day

We went to my parents house and to Mama Lucy's house for Mother's Day this year. Kamdyn enjoyed playing in the yard at Mama Lucy's house on Saturday. She got to pick flowers and run around!

On Sunday, she chased bubbles in the yard at Na-Na and Pop Pop's house. Then, she showed out (in a good way) for all of us during our Mother's Day Lunch. She talked, she made faces, she got mad at me, she threw food in the floor, etc. She is such a hoot! It's not even possible to explain her personality in words on this blog. I'm going to have to get better at including more videos so all of you can REALLY see that I am not exaggerating about how energetic, talkative, precocious, etc., that she can be. We really have our hands full, but it is the most wonderful and enjoyable experience that I've ever had. I wouldn't trade any of it for the world! She is the most adorable thing that I've ever seen. She makes me smile and laugh outloud like I never have before!

A Day in the Yard

Here we are spending a Sunday afternoon in the yard with Kamdyn. She absolutely LOVES being outside. When we make her come back inside she throws a temper tantrum. She has gotten so good at walking around. We no longer feel the need to follow her everywhere she goes out of fear that she will fall and hurt herself. However, when she is outside she tends to gravitate toward the concrete. And that does make me a little nervous! She loves to pick up leaves, say "leaf", throw them down, and them stomp on them. She does this over and over and over again! By the way, we desperately need new patio furniture. It was handed down to us and it's going to be a purchase that I make in the near future (right, Richard!). :)

First Concert

North Augusta had a "Hammin' and Jammin" festival this year. It was the first one, but is going to be an annual event. Basically a bunch of people get together, tailgate, and BBQ pigs. Then, they compete to see whose tastes the best. They have different vendors there along with concerts each night. The Blue Dogs played on Saturday night at 7:00 so we decided that we would brave it with Kamdyn in tow. Mrs. Georgia (babysitter) was actually on one of the teams competing for the BBQ competition. So, we visited with them for a while, ate a little bit of BBQ, and then enjoyed The Blue Dogs. You can see the Blue Dogs in the background of a couple of the pictures with Kamdyn.

Kamdyn did really well, much to our surprise. She did so well that we even got to stay and hear Aaron Tippin sing a few songs, too. However, she did have a few screaming spells. To our advantage though, no one could hear her over the music! She refused to give up and go to sleep in her stroller. She would dance a while, look around a while, cry a while, lay back in her stroller a while, and repeat it all over again. She finally got in to the bed around 10:00 that night. It was a late night for her! We just knew that she would sleep late the next morning. What were we thinking? She was up with the chickens promptly at 6:30 AM!!! Oh well!!!
