The Day After Christmas

We woke up bright and early to hit the road before traffic got bad.  As soon as we got up, Karcie started complaining about feeling bad.  She kept saying that she didn't feel good and kept crying.  We didn't know what to do.  We kept questioning if we should make the trip in the car with a whiny kid.  We were about to load up when I said, "Let me take her temp."  Sure enough, she had a fever.  That made our decision for us.  We didn't want to get everyone sick so we stayed home.  Karcie went from a stomach virus to another virus with a fever.

We decided that since we couldn't be around people anyway and we hadn't been to the lake in a while that we would just go to the lake.  Karcie seemed to be fine on Motrin, but as soon as it wore off she was puny again.  Her fever ended after a couple of days and we thought we were in the clear.

We had such a good time.  We built a fire and had S'mores.  We played Watch Ya Mouth which makes me laugh until I cry.  It was a relaxing way to end the hustle and bustle that the Christmas season always brings.
