Kamdyn's 13th

I celebrate our awesome family all the time. But to celebrate Kamdyn becoming an official teenager, we threw a party for about 30 middle schoolers. We decorated, fished, trampolined, footballed (where is my football!?) fire pitted, BBQ'd, ate, snacked, cake popped, cup caked, giggled, smiled, and laughed our way to a great night.  Weather turned out great after some ill advised angst. I wasn't worried because Kamdyn has too many guardian angels looking over her.

It must have been a good time, cause after party text chain was long. I might have seen a message that said " Your Dad is Lit" You better believe it son. My kinda party.

Birthday's remind me that no matter who you are or what status you have, you cant make more time. Nobody seems to understand this.

15th Wedding Anniversary

What an awesome milestone to celebrate! We spent a weekend in downtown Greenville acting like yuppies eating fancy food, rubbing elbows with the millennials, listening to music and hanging out together. I get a lot of grief for lots of things I do. But it's just a cover so I can genuinely surprise Kimberly when I dream up stuff like a corner suite overlooking downtown and the foothills. If I was Mr Romantic all the time it would be boring, right?

Mr and Mrs Kimberly Terry since 2004. We were just young looking kids back in 2004. I like to reflect on past decisions. I asked Kimberly this weekend if this is where we thought we would be 15yrs from 2004. She said she wasn't surprised. I am though. How could I have expected or dreamt of all the great things that have happened to us? I then asked her what we could have done better or changed. That one stumped her a bit. Hopefully we continue to be lucky and blessed.

Karcie Smiles

This post is just because Karcie is really cute. And I like smiles. That is all.

Karcie and Daddy Dance

I have spent years being secretly jealous of daddy daughter dances. I am sure you all would think the opposite. You'd be wrong. Oddly, the places we have lived didn't have them. That or Kamdyn always hid the invite. I was not so secretly looking forward to this. When kids get older, they start to think they know best and you're not as awesome as you used to be. At Karcie's age, she still loves her daddy. I'm still awesome. She smiled from the time I picked her up at Nanny's, through dinner and all through the dancing. Here is the best part. She was happily stuck with me in the car and even at dinner. We entered the gym after we had our picture made. Immediately I saw over half the Dad's in the bleachers and the girls had all found their friends. They were all playing together and having a good time. Karcie saw her friends and I knew she wanted to play. Karcie loves to play with friends. She cant be stopped. I encouraged her to go see them. I figured that was it and I was eyeing the cake and wondering what I would do for the next 1.5hrs. After about 5 minutes she comes back to me- I figured to hold her shoes or some other daddy duty. Nope. She was back to dance. I asked her why she wasn't hanging with her friends. She said it was our night to hang out and that she would rather dance with me. She plays with them all the time she says. So hang out and dance we did. I never got to sit in the bleachers.

My smile is pretty big too. In Feb 2019, I was still awesome.
