Christmas Eve Night

This is the first year that we have ever been alone, as a family, on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  While we certainly missed our sweet family, it was kind of nice to not have a schedule and to not be in any hurry.  The girls got into their Christmas jammies from Nanny after we spread our reindeer food.  We hung out for a while.  We set out cookies and milk for Santa.  Kamdyn wrote Santa a note.  We took  attempted to take, some cute photos of the girls in their jammies.  Karcie is never really in the mood for picture time.  :)  We said our goodbyes to Tick Tock and Thyme.  The girls loved on Mommy and Daddy.  We watched "The Christmas Story" just before bedtime.  I have the cutest video of Karcie walking over to our manger scene out of the blue one day and singing, "Happy Birthday" to Baby Jesus.  It was the sweetest thing EVER!!  IF, I remember, I will post the video.  Around 9:00 PM all was calm and all was quiet!  Our two girls were nestled all snug in their beds.  Mommy and Daddy.....well, that's another story!!

Reindeer Food

Karcie was really in to all of our Christmas traditions this year.  She couldn't wait to make reindeer food for Santa's reindeer.  I think the only deer that she really wanted to feed was Rudolph.  We mixed up our concoction and headed outside to spread it over the lawn.  Kamdyn was a bit worried that Santa wouldn't find us this year!  Thank goodness she wrote Santa a note last year giving him our new address!!  :)  It was raining, windy, cold, and wet outside.  We quickly spread the reindeer food and got back inside.  Karcie wanted to take her time to be sure that Rudolph saw the sparkles from her food.

Thankfully, we drove The Pathfinder to the Upstate of SC because there is NO WAY all of this would have fit in the Honda! I spent most of the afternoon when we returned finding a place for all of this.  YIKES!!

Christmas with Nanny, Pop Pop, and Family

Later in the evening, we exchanged gifts with Nanny and Pop Pop.  As usual, Nanny spoils her girls.  They were ALL smiles!  Nanny contributed to the play-set, but still gave the girls plenty of gifts to open.  (My plan failed.  I thought play-set=less stuff.  I was wrong!  So much to be thankful for.)   They got several new DVD's.  Kamdyn got a set of The Rainbow Fairy books that she has recently come to love.  Karcie got a Snow White castle complete with all of the dwarfs.  They got lots of clothes and Karcie got a make-up set (it's still in the closet...)!

Nanny was a great Christmas host.  The food was great and the company was even better!  We love our family!

Christmas with Georgia

We had a combo Christmas this year since moving to NC has made it a little more difficult to see our Upstate SC family and our Augusta family. Georgia and Randy came to Nanny's and surprised Kamdyn by bringing Jacob, too.  We missed our get together this year with Jacob's family and Georgia's family.  It's hard to move and miss out on fun traditions.  We adjust and make new traditions!  :)

Kamdyn was ecstatic to see Jacob.  In fact, she jumped into his arms and knocked him down.  Poor thing!!  It was cute though!  Jacob was styling in his Batman hat.  Georgia had to try it on, too!  Jacob and Kamdyn played together like old times.  They played with their Rainbow Looms and play-doh.  They played the piano.  I loved their duet!  The included Robin and Karcie in their playtime.  Their favorite part was opening gifts.  

Jacob gave Kamdyn an ice cream maker.  (NOTE: it ain't as easy as TV makes it out to be.  3 minutes of shaking??  Right!  My arm was about to fall off after about 20 minutes of shaking and we still had a milkshake!) She was so excited because she has been wanting one of these FOREVER!  We gave Jacob the game Fibber.  They couldn't wait to play it!

Georgia gave her three babies lots of special gifts including contributing to the play-set.  Each of them had a trick present where several boxes were wrapped inside a box until they finally revealed the gift.  Karcie was hilarious when unwrapping box after box.  That was a good one, Georgia!  :)  

We are still so very thankful for Georgia and the love she gives to our girls.  We are blessed to have her as a part of our family forever.  What would we do without her?
