Lady A Concert

Three of my friends/co-workers went with me to the Lady Antebellum concert the day after our official last day of work!  It was a great way to kick off the summer!  We needed to celebrate and it was great to celebrate with this awesome group of girls.  We started our night at The Rooster's Beak for dinner. We went to the concert and had a blast.  We stopped by a bar afterwards for a drink and concluded our night at The Waffle House!  Whew, it had been a long time since I had been to the Waffle House for a late night snack!  It was fun though and I can't wait until we get together again.

The two guys of Lady A are from Augusta.  It's kind of neat to see them and hear them talk about their hometown!
Anna Susan, Catie, me, and Elise

The lady on the right wanted to join our party!  :)

Elise couldn't find her keys!  So she had to sit down on the curb and dig through her purse.  I promise you that she had everything else that you could ever need or want in the purse.  :)

Anna Susan and Elise were cracking me up!!

2012 Dance Recital

Kamdyn's recital was on the Saturday after our last day of school.  Our weekend was packed!  I talked with Kamdyn's dance instructor prior to the recital to see if she could be sure that Kamdyn was before intermission.  My cousin got married on that same Saturday in Concord, NC.  As soon as Kamdyn danced, we high tailed it to Concord.  We had less than 30 minutes to spare, but made it to the wedding on time.  Unfortunately, I don't have any photos on her beautiful wedding because we left our camera and phones in the car.

Kamdyn danced beautifully and made us proud!  Georgia,  Nanny, and Karcie attended it with us.  Karcie cracked us up throughout the entire first half of the recital with her own dance routines.  This girl is HILARIOUS!!  I love watching her personality grow!

A rare family of four photo!

Kamdyn wanted to include a dance pose!

The cutest little ballerinas!

Ta-Da!

She is my joy!

She will forever be our precious little girl!

End of the Year Splash Party

All of Kindergarten had a Splash Party on the last full day of school. We had four stations set up and the classes rotated to each of them.
  • Water Slide Station
  • Sunflower Planting and Rock Mining Station
  • Hula Hoop and Bubbles Station
  • Popscicle, Jump Rope, and Chalk Station

The children had a great time!  It was a wonderful way to end our Kindergarten year.  Kamdyn got to join our class because we split up her class into the four other classes.  Richard surprised us by showing up.  Kamdyn was so excited to see him that she ran across the pavement screaming for him and face planted.  Needless to say, Daddy spent his first 30 minutes getting Band-Aids for her and trying to calm her down.I love our little school and the cultures and differences that are celebrated daily!  Go LFH!

Enjoying Popsicles with my class.  They treat Kamdyn like she is a celebrity since she is my daughter.  All of them compete for her attention.  It is so cute!

Yum!

I put my hand up on my hip!

Kamdyn with my sweet student, Allison!  I will miss her so much next year!

Dance Recital Rehearsal

Kamdyn's Dance Recital was thrown in during the last week of school, too.  Man, it was a busy week!  Her dance school is closing.  This was Ms. Pam's last year.  We are sad and will miss Ms. Pam, but we know that she did what is best for her and her family.  We are in search of our 3rd dance school!  This was Kamdyn's 4th year of dance.  It's hard to believe that she started when she was 2!!  She is transforming into a beautiful dancer.  It has been such a joy watching her grow as a dancer.  She will forever be our tiny dancer!

Accerlerated Reader Party

Kamdyn received the Accelerated Reader Award for reading the most books and for earning the most points in Kindergarten.  We had around 100 Kindergarteners this year!  This was an awesome accomplishment.  She read and took two tests almost daily.  If it had not been for her persistence, she probably would not have won this prestigious award.  During the last week of AR, I told her that she could rest a little and not read as many books if she wanted to.  She insisted on taking two tests each day that week.  If she had not, she would not have won this award.  It was that close!!  Congratulations to my overachiever!!  She also was the overall winner for her class for the year and for the semester.

Kamdyn received the Spanish Award and she also qualified for the Gifted Program next year!

Kamdyn was so proud of herself!  She worked really hard!

Mrs. Bailey, our principal, presenting Kamdyn with her award.  Kamdyn fully believes that Mrs. Bailey will be her mother-in-law one day!!  She's Jacob's Mom!  :)

Mother's Day Weekend

Mother's Day Weekend was busy, busy, busy!  We started Saturday morning with a soccer game in North Augusta.  Kamdyn was sent with her class mascot, Hoppy, for the weekend.  He went everywhere that we went.  As soon as the soccer game was finished we jumped in Richard's truck, which was loaded like the Clampett's from Beverly Hillbilly's, and we headed for Anderson.  We had to return some things to Ruthie including her mattress and box springs that we borrowed for our Master's rental in April.  We made it safely and had a wonderful time.  Ruthie was under the weather, but was a great host despite her sickness.  I really felt sorry for her.  :(  Unfortunately, I didn't even get a Mother's Day photo of me with my girls.  Things just get so hectic at times that some things are just forgotten.  We have so much to be thankful for and our Moms and Grandma's are at the top of our lists.  We didn't get to see Nanny during this visit because of her torn meniscus,  but we were able to spend the following weekend with her in Charlotte.

We also celebrated Karcie's birthday with Uncle Matthew, Aunt Holly, and Vera.  They weren't able to make to Karcie's 1st birthday now that they live in Orlando.

Hoppy had on a soccer jersey of his own!

Karcie and Hoppy were cheering for Kamdyn!

Hoppy must have made Karcie mad.  :(

Sweet Karcie opening her gifts!

She loved her "Disney" themed toys.

She and Vera are still learning to share.  I wonder how long this will take?

Uncle Matthew with our baby girl!

What cha doing Karcie?  Do you know that Mommy put a bow in your hair?

Sisterly love....nothing like it!

Three Terry Cousins

All three of them have such distict and precious personalities!

Mama Lucy spent some time with Hoppy, too!

Kindergarten Graduation

Kamdyn's Kindergarten Graduation was wonderful.  Again, it was hard for me to enjoy her milestone because I was also making sure that my class was ready for their big day.  Playing Mommy and teacher at the same time is so hard sometimes!  Anyway, Daddy, Nanny, Georgia, and Karcie all attended her big event.  She welcomed everyone to our program and led the Pledge of Allegiance....IN SPANISH!  We were so proud of her.  My eyes filled with tears as she stepped up to the microphone and began her speech.  I am in awe of her confidence and her intelligence.  She amazes EVERY. SINGLE. DAY!  Kamdyn won the Spanish Award for her class.  She also won the AR Award for the entire Kindergarten for reading the most books this year and for earning the most AR points!  I love that our school doesn't give an award to every child for everything under the sun.

Posing with her class while we were waiting in line.
Walking down the aisle.

She is such a rule follower.  We told the children to smile and she never took the smile off of her face the entire time!  Bless her!

Where's Kamdyn?  Can you spot the BIG ORANGE BOW?  There is a method to my hairbow madness.  :)

The theme to our program was "Dream Big."  The children sang, "Hello Around the World," "Big Dreams," "I Feel Good," and they said two precious poems.  They also sang a song in Spanish.  It was an awesome celebration of all of their accomplishments this year in Kindergarten.
Afterwards, we made our way to P.F. Chang's....the graduates request.
We are so proud of you, Kamdyn Lucy!

Later that day, Kamdyn's class went to a park for an after party to celebrate Kindergarten.  Richard took her because I had to go back to work.  :(  This is Kamdyn and sweet Mary Oliff!

They took the golf cart to the park.  It turned out to be part of the playground equipment!
