Family vacations are always fun! However, with children, vacations can also be very hectic....especially when they are under the age of 3. I'm not even going to try to sugar coat that fact. Am I glad that we went? - ABSOLUTELY! Am I glad to be home? - DOUBLE ABSOLUTELY!! :)
We went with several other couples/folks from Augusta. We spent some time with them and some time with our family. Nanny came down for the first part of the week and took care of our sweet Karcie so that Kamdyn could enjoy more time at the beach/pool with us. Ruthie came the last part of the week to help. Without them, I know that we would have spent a lot more time in the condo with little Miss Priss! We can not thank you enough!!
Karcie was a wild goose for her first time on the beach. We knew she would be. She was everywhere and was not the least bit intimidated by the sand or the HUGE body of water in front of her. She headed straight for the water and would have never looked back had we not turned her around. Richard joked that she was headed to France with or without us. :) She loved the sand. She face planted several times into the sand and into the water. She didn't miss a beat! She jumped right back up and was on the run again. We literally could not take our eyes off of her for even one second. It was exhausting! After two hours, Karcie's first beach experience ended. Mommy and Daddy needed a break. Good thing she is such a cutie because she definitely has the energy and determination of several children put together! And, by the way, she would have nothing to do with a hat or sunglasses!
We alternated between the beach and pool. We ate! A LOT! We played putt-putt. We painted pottery. We ventured around the island. Mostly, we enjoyed our time together.
| Richard's idea of heaven as we waited to eat at The Boathouse one night. We enjoyed our evening alone. |
| Richard and his sweet peas! |
| She never stopped! |
| She took off down the beach without us! No fear! |
| I could squeeze those chunky legs right off! |
| She did enjoy climbing in and out of this chair. |
| She was proud of herself for getting into it. |
| "Helping" big sister! |
| But, not for long. She had places to go! |

| Putt Putt time! |
| Richard won by 3 strokes! UGH! But, I had the only hole-in-one. :) I want a rematch! |
| Next stop - Salty Dog Cafe for some delicious ice cream! |
| Karcie had to have some of Kamdyn's Cookie Monster Ice Cream. |
| It stained everything...including her shirt. Thankfully it came out! :) |
| Hanging out with the parrots. |
| Karcie wasn't very amused with the parrots. |
| I tried to capture a photo of these two one night after dinner. Karcie wouldn't stand still even for ONE second. |
| Until Daddy took control, that is! |
| We went to Shelter Cove one night in an attempt to see Shannon Tanner, but were disappointed when a storm came through and cancelled the show. We enjoyed dinner there instead. |
| Kate and Kamdyn got ladybug balloons made by Clappie the Clown. |
| At dinner. |
| Karcie had enough of the stroller so off she went with Ruthie. |
| She was trying to get close to a dog that was nearby. |
| Gotta have that pappi! |
| I wanted to have family photos taken on the beach, but it just didn't happen. This will have to do! |
| Love my girls! |
| Kamdyn was upset to learn that Shannon Tanner wouldn't be playing the 2nd show even though the storm had passed. |
| Kamdyn and Zeus |
| Karcie wanted to climb the stairs. |
| Over and over! |
| And over again! |
| Whew, she keeps us busy! |
