First Boat Ride

Kamdyn had many "firsts" this weekend. She had her first birthday as well as her first boat ride. We took the boat down to the Savannah River which is only about 10 minutes from our house. We had such a relaxing afternoon. Kamdyn did GREAT!!! She surprised us yet again! She did fall asleep half-way through the ride though. She also HAD to walk around in the boat and REFUSED to wear her life jacket. Needless to say, we went really slowly!

Happy First Birthday

Kamdyn's First Birthday Party was this past Saturday, March 24th. What a fun time we all had! Kamdyn was a perfect little lady. She didn't cry or fuss not one time!!! As you can see, she had a Polka Dot Party! We had to have her party early since we will be in St. Lucia for her actual birthday. However, Na-Na and Poppy will be having her a family party on her birthday. Lucky her, she gets 2 birthday parties this year!!

Thank you to all of you who made the trip to Augusta to celebrate this special day with us! It meant so much to Richard, Kamdyn, and me. To those of you in Augusta who came, you guys are the best!! I couldn't survive without all of my Augusta Buddies!!! To those of you who couldn't make it, we TOTALLY understand! But, we did miss you!
If any of you have other pictures, please pass them on to me! We don't have any of all of you who were there! :(

How is it possible that our baby girl is already ONE?

Climbing Stairs

Turns out that Kamdyn LOVES climbing stair. Or, she at least loves trying to climb stairs. Thank goodness we don't have any at our house. Baby gates would definitely have to be installed. Now that she is walking everywhere, we have found that she hardly ever gets in to anything that she's not supposed to be in to! We hope this will continue so we don't have to "fully" baby proof the house.

Resting with Mommy

This doesn't happen often. She must have been REALLY tired this particular day!We also hardly have any pictures of Kamdyn and me together. :( We are going to have to find a new photographer. It's always me!!

Talking

Here is little Kamdyn talking! She is saying "eye" as she looks at Elmo on her Valentine book. She is starting to say lots of little words....Da-Da, of course, Ma-Ma when she feels like it, dog, hi, eye, etc. My new favorite is when she wiggles her little fingers toward herself to say "come on!" She learned this with Na-Na this past weekend. It is so adorable!

Walking Around

Kamdyn is really getting brave with walking these days. She can walk all the way across our living room floor. Before, she was really wobbly and would fall down after just a few steps. Now, she can stop and regain her balance and then start walking again. It is so amazing to watch the progression! Each new stage has it's own "excitement." And, each new stage brings such joy to us. She is pulling up on things, but finds it much easier to use us to help her up. She doesn't like it when we make her do it herself. In fact, she gets down right upset! We try to explain to her that she's got to learn to get up on her own, but she doesn't seem to care. She knows what she wants and she wants it NOW!!! OR ELSE!!! We all have such a hard time watching her cry and have her little "fits." We, of course, end up giving in 99.9% of the time! She's only a baby once! Who cares if she's spoiled, right????

So, here is a video of the little stinker walking from the couch to her exersaucer and to the table. Wow!! Where has this year gone? Looking back on the blog at how tiny she was when we brought her home from the hospital makes me sad and happy all at the same time. Sad at how quickly she has grown, but happy knowing all that she has accomplished along the way. This amazing little girl has taken over our lives and we couldn't be more thankful! We want to be with her all the time and miss her terribly when we're not! What will we do for a week while we are in St. Lucia? I'm going to be in tears everyday. :(

Look at "Big Stuff" walking!

Here is our Little Kamdyn walking all around the room. We can hardly believe that she has already conquered this huge task! She still seems way too tiny to be walking around. Needless to say, she feels otherwise! :)

Going to School with Mommy

Mrs. Georgia brought Kamdyn to my school today around 3:30. We had a teacher workday and I still had a little bit of work left to do. After taking Kamdyn around to visit a few of my coworkers, I had to find something for Kamdyn to do while I finished my work. In a room full of toys that shouldn't be that difficult. However, I am germaphobic! So, I found a shaker, bells, and a ball. I viciously scrubbed all of them with a wet wipe before giving them to her. Against my better judgement, I put her in the middle of the rug and let her play! She had such a good time "making music." It was fun to sit back and watch her. She doesn't sit and play very often anymore because she always wants to walk. But, with a new environment and different toys, she was completely occupied. Yes, I had to take some pictures! Mommy's don't go anywhere without their cameras!! :)
