A Weekend Away

This past weekend was a vacation and fun for all of us. Richard and I (along with some of our friends) went to Beaufort for a dinner cruise, courtesy of The Settings (property we bought), on Thursday night. We then ventured on to Charleston with Matthew and Holly for a fun filled weekend. We stayed at the Market Pavillion which was absolutely beautiful.

While we were away, Kamdyn got to enjoy an exciting weekend with Grand(?) (still yet to be named!) Kamdyn got to go swimming in her new blow up pool. Her biggest accomplishment and adventure was that she learned how to climb up the steps. Yes, she can climb ALL the way to the top. She hasn't figured out how to get back down though. She will say, "Help, help!" Climbing down the steps makes me a wee bit nervous! Kamdyn had a great time and so did we. We were all glad to get home on Sunday night and sleep in our own beds!
Thanks Grand for keeping Kamdyn and thanks Uncle Matthew and Holly for a fun weekend! Can't wait to see all of you the week of the 4th!!

Kindermusik Take II

Here is Kamdyn on our second class of Kindermusik. It took her a while to get warmed up this time. After having left her numerous times at the Jazzercize daycare, she was paranoid that this, too, was another time when I would be dropping her off and leaving her. Everytime I would sit her down, she would begin to cry and say "ma-ma". Once she realized that I wasn't leaving, she was again in rare form. She wanted to be first with all of the activities (riding in the basket, swinging in the blanket, etc.) She wasn't happy about giving the other babies a turn. We will definitely have to work on that sharing thing!

This is my favorite! Kamdyn is giving her "angry eyebrows" to someone about something! It looks like she is about to attack! See what I mean about the sharing thing!

Eating with a Spoon and Fork

Here is Kamdyn attempting to eat with a spoon and a fork at NaNa's for the first time. She does okay for her first try. However, she knows the camera is on her and she has to show out for it!

Here is Kamdyn showing off for Kathy and Brandi. She is such a ham and LOVES an audience! I've been trying to post this for a while but just got the video to actually work.

Baby Pool

When my parents came down here to keep Kamdyn Memorial Day Weekend while we went to the Black River with our friends, my Mom insisted on bringing Kamdyn a swimming pool. In the process of bringing the pool for Kamdyn, a new bathing suit for Kamdyn, etc., etc., etc., my Mom forgot her own camera. Since we had our camera with us on our trip, there were no pictures of Kamdyn in her baby pool. Richard insisted that my Mom take the pool back with her, but she conveniently forgot it. So, we had to reenact her "first" experience this past Saturday. She LOVES the water. She is not afraid to put her face in the water, have water splashed all over, nor is she afraid to stand up and flop down in to the water. She is "fearless" which scares me to death! She did enjoy it, but boy was it HOT outside. We tried desperately to keep her in the shade as she continuously looked up at the sun and said "sunshine" and "hot." It's just amazing all of the words that she already knows! Here she is in all of her swimming "gear" loving her Saturday morning!Mommy's hair after just getting out of the shower. YIKES!

Richard is not trying to drown Kamdyn in this picture. He wanted her to lie on her back. I guess he thinks she is advanced enough to already do the back stroke! :)

Another Boating Adventure

We decided this past weekend that we would venture out to the River again with Kamdyn. Since she is so active now, she absolutely had to wear her life jacket. However, she still HATED it!! I felt so sorry for her, too. Could they make those baby life jackets any bulkier? She couldn't even get her arm to her mouth to feed herself the life jacket is so big. And, you can imagine how hot they must get with that big thing on them. Oh well! We had to do what we had to do. She eventually got used to it and stopped throwing a fit. She also agreed to finally keep her hat on which was an accomplishment in and of itself. She kept saying"boat" as we enjoyed our nice Sunday morning ride. Here are a few pics at the end of our trip when it was time for Kamdyn to take a nap. I did finally give in and let her take her life jacket off so she could take a nap in Daddy's lap!

Help from Aunt Kathy and Uncle Jim

We have a bank that runs along the entire left side of our property. The builders planted juniper sporadically along the bank. After having lived here almost 6 years, the juniper still hasn't covered the entire bank. Last summer, Richard worked on the bank in the back yard. The bank in the front yard still desperately needed help. We have just been so aggravated with it after trying a few plants that failed, that we had almost given up on the bank ever looking half way decent. However, Aunt Kathy came to our rescue and graciously took one of her vacation days to come down here to plant our bank. She brought many beautiful verbena that are supposed to cover the bank. So far they look great!

Uncle Jim came to help Richard put the garage cabinet (my Christmas present) together. Yes, it had been sitting in our garage in the box waiting on someone to put it together since Christmas. Thanks, Uncle Jim! There is no doubt that it would still be sitting there. The directions did say that it required 2 people to put it together. Trying to put it together with a baby is next to impossible. Uncle Jim came to the rescue, too. Now most of our garage "junk" fits nicely into this cabinet and I no longer have to look at it each time that I pull into the garage! Hip Hip Hooray!! Thank you so much Aunt Kathy and Uncle Jim! We love you both!!

Here are some pictures of Kamdyn trying to "help" Aunt Kathy and Uncle Jim. I chased her around the yard all day while everyone else worked. Kamdyn is determined to go straight to the road so we have to watch her at all times when we are outside!

Spending a Week in Greenville/Powdersville

Richard had to be out of town the first week in June. Since it was my first week out of school, I decided that Kamdyn and I would come up to visit everyone. What a busy week we had!!!

When we first arrived on Tuesday afternoon we went to lunch with NaNa at Panera Bread on Augusta Road. Kamdyn decided that she wasn't going to cooperate so we had to take our food and try to eat outside without bothering anyone else.

Then, on Wednesday morning we went to visit with my Aunts (Tina and Brenda)

and our cousin Robin.

On Wednesday we went to lunch at Red Lobster with my Mom and her boss, Larry.

On Wednesday afternoon we went to visit my Dad's Mom and his sister.

On Wednesday evening we went to visit Brandi in her new house! Her Mom, Kathy, came over while we were there, too!

On Thursday morning, we visited with Mama Lucy for a little while.

Kamdyn in the car on the way to see Mama Lucy!

On Thursday afternoon we went to Angie's house and visited with her and her little boy Eli. Michelle and her new baby, Warren, were there to join in the fun, too! We had such a great time with them! I wish we got to see them more often!

She enjoyed playing with all of his toys!

We were supposed to visit Amy and her babies, Noah and Sullivan, but Noah got sick and had to go to the doctor.

We LOVE coming home, but WOW is it BUSY when we are here. We never manage to get around to seeing EVERYONE that we need to see. We do try the best that we can!!!
